@jeevanirajiv that is a grievous exaggeration, the list goes on of great movies that were vilified in their time for being violent or disturbing that are now seen as classics, you could probably hit up the criterion collection for a good chunk of them.The only thing this guy is doing is attempting to bring the western genre back and mix it with what many consider a vital inspiration for the western genre. The ronin and the cowboy of cinema were not too far off and often took cues from each other

It's supposed to be a spiritual predecessor to Django, an Italian gunslinger movie. Haven't seen it yet myself, but if you've seen the end of sukiyaki, then that's what the ending text means. (don't want to spoil it.) (main character of the italian move is named Django.)

I just watched this movie about Samaurai in the Old West, or Cowboys in Japan, I'm not sure what it was but it was really really good. I guess it's a remake of a spaghetti western called Django.

If any of you guys saw the movie, do you remember Yoshisune's (leader of the Whites) headgear he wore (the scene that showed the Whites' arrival at the town)? It looked as if it was made of white horse hair or a similar material. I've been trying to find the name of it.
