  • Looks good in ford blue. Nice job.

  • @TheDieselStop Thanks!

  • How 'bout an updated video on this truck? I assume it is long done by now and you have been driving it etc. Maybe a walk around and a report?

  • @woog74 I will do an update video soon. I'm about to go to the shop to mount up the 40" tires I just got yesterday, in trade for the old 9" locker chunk I'm no longer using. These tires will drop the cruising rpm down to 1800, so I'm hoping for an increase of 2-3 mpg. Plus, I think the truck will look cool with 40s on it. I also have an intercooler lined up, so once I get all the plumbing for it, I'll be installing that.

  • Really nice Bronco. I have read the posts over on FSB like three times!!! I love my bronco but the MPG make it tough to drive. I may have to consider this swap.

  • @staufferadam Thanks! I highly recommend this Cummins swap, it's really fun to drive, and is good on fuel too

  • What do you have done to that c6? I have a stock c6 behind my 520 v8, the tranny is done now. I am going to put a cummins in their and am considering keeping the c6. I am planning to run 800 ft lbs of torque. Do you have upgraded clutch packs, baskets etc.?

  • @NathansBackwoods I had Dynamic Racing Transmissions build my C6. Definitely upgraded clutch materials(red eagle?)

  • @AmericanThunder, I was looking at red eagle parts...they make some nice stuff, but the stage 4 c6 racing transmission is rated a 800 ft lbs. I will be pushing that and i dont know if a c6 will take around 950. That would be a safe zone...i might just use a manual tranny. The only reason im considering building the c6 is because its in the truck.

  • @NathansBackwoods My motor is making quite a bit of torque, but the Bronco is light, at 5100 lbs, plus I don't tow with the truck, either. It makes enough power to spin the tires in 2nd gear at 30 mph, and the C6 is still working great after 10,000 miles. I didn't get the top end C6 from Dynamic, either, I got the mid-range one. The top trans they build cost something like 3 grand, but there's probably not much on Earth that could break it.

  • Hey was wondering where you are located? I have put several of these togather myself and thought it would be cool to get them all togather sometime. I have a couple videos on here of my standard cab 1977 ford/ cummins. I also got a crewcab / cummins. I have two buddies that also have old ford / cummins trucks. We are all in the washington and oregon area. Would like to see a video of the whole bronco. And if you go to turn the pump up I would get an intercooler on there soon.

  • I'm with Parkourdemon, Saw this on FSB awhile back and saw the, Very nice bud. Have a 78 with a 400M thats mildly built, 6inch suspension 36 TSl and 4:56 gears with Trac-Lock front and rear and I get about 8 or 9 MPG lol.

  • Hello! :)

Haha, so funny story I saw all your info on FSB and ran into this video and linked the two in my head :P

But I was wondering how hard/costly this swap was(Besides the 6bt cost of course).

    I have a 79 Bronco with a 7.5l 460 (whee 8mpg) And I kinda wanna eventually do a cummins swap :)

  • @parkourdemon There was quite a bit of fabricating and figuring things out when I did the swap, because I moved everything back 4 inches in the chassis. Both to get some of the weight off the front axle, but also so the oil pan would clear the front crossmember without any cutting. Another benefit of having the extra 4" between the radiator and fan is that I have plenty of room for an intercooler whenever I get around to installing one. It cost about 6k with the 4 new tires.

  • And thanks for the comments!

  • im seriously looking ant doing a project like this what problems did you run into during the build?

  • @tkopitsch The 460-pattern C6 trans needs to be clearanced to fit over the destroked flexplate, and the various issues to address with the radiator, driveshafts, etc.

  • very nice!! How mpg you do ? City ,highway ?

  • @ssssmall Thanks, the truck averages about 20 mpg, combined city and highway. I need to adjust the pump timing a bit to improve the mileage.

  • nice.
