  • I guess. considering that I know how they are grown and in WHAT, i choose to quickly wash them. I don't want to carry over into my sauces.

    If you can find cleaned mushrooms, which I can on occassion then I agree with you.

    I buy mine fresh off the "compost" farm, so like oysters, I do tend to clean thoroughly.

  • washing mushrooms with water makes them tough...... brush them clean; never wash them.
