  • can an adult fit in the back seat?

  • Haha, that's exactly what I though :)

  • honestly, aston martins r just one of the most beautiful cars ive ever seen the exterior needs no work, the comfort needs no work, but it would be cool to see the affordable astons get more horsepower, and at least go into the high 3s 0-60, that would just make them the all around perfect cars to be honest because there is nothing wrong with astons at all frankly

  • i don't like buying something thats sandwiched between stuff... makes me feel mediocre.... so for me ... its DBS or V8 vantage. :) thats me tho...lollol

  • FO Renault adverts your cars are crap!

  • Comment removed

  • Aston martins all look quite the same, but each model has a distinct personality. If you like the aston martin image you can select any car you find more adequate to your style of driving without feeling regret for not getting the better looking car, they are all similar, so just choose the one that fits you the most (though money is the big issue here...)

  • I disagree that they need to change the styling, it looks perfect

  • Wonder what this guy thinks of the creativity at porsche...

  • no need for a revolution at Aston Martin? Yep. He's right. Aston Martin's are jsut fine.

  • No Steve, Aston Martin is one of the last, old school sports car makers around. V12, rear drive, very luxurious, and very stylish. An old school sports car deserves an old school gearbox.

  • oh my love...

  • you can still get a manual in an aston dumbo

  • Virage or Continental GT?

  • @tven99 continental GT no doubt

  • @bentleyspotter if you like spending your money on overpriced volkswagen, then i guess the continental is the right choice, however if you like to spend your money on a car thats got elegance, power, build quality, emotional value and a soul, you have to pick an Aston..

  • @bounceeer I dont know, i often fin myself thinking between the aston Db9 and the Bentley. Though the new models with the twin turbo V8 dont look really nice compared to the previous w12 models...

  • @tven99 virage

  • Best car in the whole World! <3

  • If they'd labelled it the new DB9 none of this unoriginality criticism would have arisen, the DB9 is relatively old. I still think that Astons are the most elegant and beautiful cars out there, but perhaps a new model that isn't just a coupe would be nice. Maybe that will have happened by the time I'll be able to own one :)

  • @ShaveMyDave they have the rapide

  • @diztorcion666 Still the same design. It's just an extended Virage.

  • @ShaveMyDave yo make it sound as if it was a bad thing -__-

  • @diztorcion666 Nah, it's not a bad thing just yet. I just think that even the elegant design that we know Aston Martin for will at some point become dated :(

  • @ShaveMyDave i belieave it will become dated when aston decide to something else kind of like the last generation if you compare it with any other car its stunning and beautiful but compare to a new aston then it looks old..ps the new db9 allready look a bit different at the front

  • @diztorcion666 Which new DB9? I can't find it.

  • I don't know about this one, love all Aston buy if it was my money I probably go for the Maserati GranTurismo S

  • changing gears thru the pedal shifters is not refined regardless of what car your in...that's one stupid point in his try to make the car look much better that it is...and that's what all other british car reviewers do....

  • the price of an aston martin is quite higher than other cars comparable such as audi r8 wich is quite faster and nicer, similar luxury... so why people buy this car?

  • @lmizquierdo Simple.. Buying an R8 is like buying an Iphone.. While buying an aston is like buying a Vertu.. if most pople doesnt notice the exquisite highlights in the latter is just because its not a product for most people..

  • @absolutinspire yup!!

  • @absolutinspire Not really.. although Vertu's are made with uber expensive materials, it still sucks as an overall phone :P. I would say an R8 is one of those plastic Androids with a cheesy gimmick while the Aston is an iPhone made with far better materials and an OS that has the same problem as the Aston - its beautiful and a winner but we have that "seen that, been there" feeling whenever we see it.

  • @lmizquierdo becoz R8 simply isnt the same class as aston virage :) sometimes its not abt that little bit faster as u cant use the speed anyway 99 out of 100 times when u driving it - as for the exterior its down to personal R8 looks great but Virage way better in my opinion, u may not agree but just trying to let u know R8 isnt THAT special, and as someone's replied on your comment, R8 is like an iphone, who ever can afford it try to get an R8 to tell everyone they are rich - but they are cheap

  • Why change a winning formula? Porche has just varied the same design for 50 years or so and far from hurting them, they've gone from strength to strength. Every Aston is unmistakably an Aston and not many Marques can pull that off.

  • HE TELLS ASTON MARTIN TO CHANGE THE STYLING!!........

    ....neh i agree with him...

  • that guy looks like Pancho, from Balls of Steel :P

  • Automotive perfection in design.

  • They did too much Aston Martins that just looks the same. They should have kept the Vanquish, stick with the DB9 and DBS.

  • If this car had the same tail lights as the One-77, this would be the best looking car ever!

  • sooo beautiful but sooo slow :(

  • @BrantFortunate dude can your car go 190mph no you buddy have obviously never driven a fast car because this car is fast

  • @edgo45 ok, correction. top speed is fast. but acceleration is very slow.

  • @edgo45 agreed

  • Comment removed

  • that looks soooo good

  • or you could just buy an xjr-s which is better in every single way

  • "it is very quick : less than 5 sec to 60" : it is a minimum from such an expensive V12 and the gear box is still far behind the competitors : no excuse for so much marketing

  • wouldnt this car be obsolete when a successor to the db9 comes out a year or 2 from now? i dont really understand aston martins intent with this car unless they are planning to continue with the db9 for the next 5 years or so. i really think its time they stepped it up a notch and created a successor to the db9 that is more beautiful and better than the db9 in every way. that would be a car.

  • nice care seriously but y would u take take out 20 horspower from that v12 engine i mean COME ON ASTON MARTIN HAS ENOUGH COMFORTABLE CARS LIKE THE V8 VANTAGE THE DB9 AND THE RAPID u couldve added more horspower or kept the same like WTF

  • I can't find an angle at which this car doesn't look stunning.

  • I know James May on Top Gear got annoyed because it wasn't comfortable...

But who cares? If they changed their Aston Martins to different designs, they would be really crap. Thats why Aston kept it like the others - to make people recognise each shape and understand why Aston Martin has the most beautiful supercars in the world - I stand by that

  • @Andysolonos9 I know right? James May is a twit

If you want something 'comfortable', why spend £150'000 on Aston Martin with nearly 500 horsepower?

  • @JayRicci7891 Man i think you may be the best youtuber! Why don't the spend their money on Mercedes S65 ///AMG or BMW 7 Series. Aston Martins are meant to be supercars not comfortable all the time. You just want it for the looks and speed not comfort. No one gives a crap

And yes James May is a twit

  • @Andysolonos9 everyone who enjoys driving cars cares about a comfortable feel except for racing drivers. James May might be wrong but that' just a personal opinion.

  • @samvanprooijen Yeah true, i also understand he said the Aston Martins were a gentlemens car not hardcore racers.

  • They barely broke the 500 hp mark in a car that weights almost 2 tonnes and costs 283 thousand euros (DBS) in Spain. The Virage costs will probably cost between 198 and 283 thousand in Spain. But for that sort of money you can get a Bentley Continental Supersports @ 256 thousand euros & 630 hp, a Mercedes CL 65 AMG @ 256 thousand euros & 630 hp (coincidence), Ferrari FF 291 thousand euros & 659 hp. Aston Martin, you need to step it up, 500 hp is a number of the past, Porsche & Maserati numbers.

  • @espjuan

Well, Aston's V12 has never been the most powerful engine out there.. And yes, it's surely a step behind any Ferrari, but you won't buy a GT like this for sheer horsepower and performance.

The lack of power is worst on the DBS, wich should be the super sporty range topper.. But with 4.3 seconds on the 0-100 and barely 520 bhp, it isn't.

  • woah, that's a thin road.

  • You know what i don't understand how porsche can come out with the same looking (and ugly) car every few years and no one says a thing. But when aston martin comes out with a similar looking car, one that looks great, everyone flys off the handle. The reason AM makes similar looking cars is because every single one of their cars looks likes sex and they want to keep it that way. And the day they do radically change the look will be a very sad day for pretty much anyone who isn't blind.

  • @hedgy93 Amen!!! I'm a huge fan of Aston!! Evolution in design is a good thing in this case, especially when they look AMAZING!!!!!!

  • how do you only get 490 hp out of a v12?

  • @LEBENON100 What do you mean only? I bet you couldn't handle that much.

  • @buttnut1080 dude im 15 so yea i couldnt. but im saying the lamborghini aventador has a v12 around the same liters but it has 700 and it has no turbos. so im saying why does it only get 490? lamborghini gallardo gets more power out of a v10

  • @LEBENON100 Well first off the Lamborghini's V12 is much larger than Aston's; a whole 600cc bigger. But it's all in the way the engines are tuned as well as their size and also, how old the design is. Aston's V12 has been around for a long time, before the horsepower war even started so 490 ten or so years ago would seem like plenty.

  • Comment removed

  • @buttnut1080 i know it doesnt matter i love aston martin, but i just dont get it cuz the aston martin v12 vantage has a 6 liter v12 and that only produces 510 and lamborghini's 5.5 liter v10 produces 550 its just it seems that an v12 that big should produce more power thats all

  • @LEBENON100 Again, it's all in the way they're set up. Aston's focus never was about class leading power or performance. Remember though, you're talking about the company that recently made the most powerful naturally aspirated engine ever in a production car.

  • @buttnut1080 which one?

  • @LEBENON100 The One-77. 7.5 liter, 750hp V12.

  • @buttnut1080 oh i didnt know that was the most powerful

  • It looks like much like every other Aston since it CAN, because it looks good.

  • Aston and Porsche have the same concept of keeping it close to the roots, and I think thats why we love them.

  • I think this is the best looking aston...ignoring the fact that they all look the same. I also agree that aston needs to change up the formula. Its just the same car that has been "refined" countless times.

  • the V12 sounds a bit like a 599 GTO at 3:03

  • the best sounding V12s in Aston Martin's range...

  • why would you defile the classic look of a virage with just a nother db9 clone... WTF???

  • I don't care what it looks like, it's still a beauty!

  • people say aston martin designers are lazy cuz all their cars all pretty much the same, but then all their cars are very very beautiful so why change them?

  • 490 bhp from a V12 :(

Come on Aston you can do better than that.

  • Aston Martin isn't Ferrari, they don't throw out a new model every 2 years. It's a series of evolutions, then a revolution. I don't think it'll be too long before there's a whole new concept/design of Aston. And you know you're going to love it, even before it comes out.

  • @sultanabran1 isnt that what Ferrari do too? Ferrari replace the model after an average of 5 years or so... get your facts straight, dude...

  • I am a huge fan of Aston Martin in fact, I'd be biased enough to claim them better than Ferrari but honestly they're not.

Forget about performance figures. Aston Martin is running out of ideas. After Mr. Callum had left, all of Aston's lineup started to look like modified DB9s.

What Aston should've done is use some design cues and technology off the One-77 instead of sharing bits and pieces off the DB9, DBS and Rapide.

So now, the only Aston I'll consider will be the DB9.

  • Aston Martins have the most pathetic engines on the market. Not even the Americans can make an engine that big and underpowered. We are talking about a 6.0 liter V12 which produces only 490 bhp. Chrysler makes 470 hp from a 6.4 liter V8. I find it hard to believe that Aston needs 4 more cylinders to gain that extra 20 hp. Lamborghini and Ferrari make 700 and 660 hp respectively with their V12's and Porsche makes 500 hp from a 4 liter inline 6 (more hp, half the cylinders of the Aston).

  • @marshknute In this instance, TORQUE is more important than horespower... not everything is about horsepower. You could have 700 bhp and 100 NM and the car would be slow as hell on acceleration. For acceleration you need torque. This is a heavy car.. hence it needs more torque, 490bhp and 570 NM Porsche's (excluding panamera and cayenne) need less torque as they are lighter. Learn a bit about engineering before slagging off things you don't understand. It is the exact same principle as US v8's.

  • @cyclingguy3 So this car has 570 NM of torque, which equates to 420 ft lbs. The Chrysler engine I noted makes 470 ft lbs of torque and has a nearly flat torque band (giving you power throughout the rev range). In other words, Aston Martin's shitty engine produces less torque and only 20 bhp more than Chrysler's V8, despite having 4 more cylinders. Add that to the fact that they haven't designed a fully new car for nearly 10 years, and it's no surprise that the brand was sold to the Kuwaitis.

  • @marshknute So what? its a CHRYSLER. You are comparing a luxury british sports car to an american muscle car. Get yourself into an Aston Martin, and you will see what i am rambling on about. Let me ask you.. what is the acceleration and top speed of said chrysler??

  • @marshknute It's not that aston martin can't get more horsepower out of the engine, They have shown that they can in the dbr9, Although it's in a race car, the engine isn't that different from the road going version, and it produces 600 BHP, It's all in the tuning of the engine. I can't understand why they don't give their road cars more power though.

  • @Addictedtovinigar Ever been in a car with say; 250bhp? maybe 300bhp? Maybe you have, maybe you haven't. I can say 250-300hp is a truly insane amount of power for a road-car in anything other than perfect conditions. You would also have to be a very good driver. In a reasonably light car 250-300hp will put a huge smile on your face and possibly a dozen or so points on your driving licence.. Now imagine... double that ...... That's why they don't give them even more power...

  • @cyclingguy3 Fair enough, i have driven a car with 500 hp, wasn't really allowed to put my foot down that much and barely got use any of the hp., but i did have a huge grin on my face. So i suppose you are right, but when you compare the cars power with its rivals from mercedes, Audi, Bmw and Ferrari, 490 hp seems a little low compared to 550hp+ for cars that are lighter cheaper and more capable, but i suppose you don't by an aston for super high performance.

  • @Addictedtovinigar Ahh, that would be why then. Yes you are totally correct on all points here. The output is a little low for the price, but as you correctly said, (and lets be honest) people don't buy Astons for 0-60 times. This Aston will happily cruise at 180mph if you so wished with beautiful sound and comfort. But who really needs anything close to that..

  • In relation to him criticizing the lack of creativeness in the looks department - don't fix what isn't broken, meaning that this car's looks are perfect so don't fuck around with them. We've already seen what happens when you put the vents on the vanquish and DBS, they turned out looking cheap and tacky, don't fix what use broken.

  • Luckily this particular example does have the steering wheel on the side where it belongs, so you can use it properly outside of the collection postage stamps called "Great Britain", haha! xD

  • I think I'm in love!

  • Why have the DB9 anymore? If I were in the market for such a car I wouldn't see the point of the DB9 if the Virage is a better all-round car. The price difference is nothing for cars of this stature. While we're at it, this thing comes pretty damn close to the DBS, but as they say has a better ride than the DBS. I say scrap the DBS and DB9. Aston already has the V12 Vantage for those looking for an all-out sports car.

  • to all you haters that complain about it looking so similar, is because Aston Martin doesnt want to make their cars so modern that look rediculous like a Chevy Volt or a Nissan Leaf. They want to keep that style that has captured peoples eyes for decades.

  • The DB9 was introduced in 2004 and has had only two minor facelifts and engine tweaks in it's almost 8 years of existence; Although I don't expect major upgrades every 4 years from an uber-luxury hand made boutique brand Like AML.. this is a little ridiculous. The Aston Martin Virage for all intents and purposes should be the new upgraded DB9 and the current DB9 discontinued.

Anyway what the hell do I care. I can't afford either one anyway. :(

  • @Ceehigh My guess because they are a small niche' make with little capital to retool and create a whole new platform. It obviously costs a lot so the option for now is to refresh an old thing. But I love Aston's and to be honest they look so good they barely if at all age. Sexy beasts!

  • @Ceehigh I agree. I am a big fan of the DB7 and Vanquish styling, and since the DB9 was introduced there was something missing in the styling, and it still as, as most of the Aston versions now are based on the DB9. It's almost there, but not quite... Something is missing from the pure beauty of the DB7 and the Vanquish. To me, the V8 looks much more interesting than all those DB9 variants. Why are the beancounters at Aston so hung up on the DB9?

  • @Ceehigh Totally agree with you man. It would make sense to discontinue the DB9, have the Virage as Aston's entry level GT car and then focus on making the DBS even faster. I believe there is more power to be had out of its 6.0 V12.

  • @Ceehigh if its broke don't fix it ;)

  • Who cares if it looks the same its simply beautiful

  • hey! it's the dueche that popped his collar in the Lambo Aventador Review.

  • I hate how people say all Aston's look the same. EVERY car company is designing their cars the same. Think about it. All Porsche's look the same. All Audi's look the same. All BMW's look the same. All Lamborghini's look the same. Its just tiny adjustments that make them differ in some way.

  • @CharIiePresents That is not true at all. Porsches look the same yes, but Audi? No not at all. BMW no! compare the BMW 3 series with the 5 series. They don't look the same. There are similarities, but that is how car makers build cars. They take a concept design and then wrap it around their models but they still change it to fit for each model. It is not the same as taking the same body and then just change the length and width a bit and add a few gills in the bonnet when they want a "new car".

  • im sick of ppl bitching "Oh boring design" u must be blind. Aston martin has the most stunning looking cars in the world. Plus look at Porsche, all their cars look the same, yet ppl keep coming back. the formula works, so shutup cause most of us will never own an aston anyways.

  • @kezboy1 I agree! I think the classic Porsche design with the round headlamps are simply epic! On the other hand, the current model Aston Martin uses IS without a doubt a landmark in automotive design (in my opinion, the most beautiful car design since the late '60) BUT I do believe it's time to move on and try something else. I'm not 'bored' with this design, but I do linger for a fresh new face... even if it's not going to be as pretty as this one.

  • THE ASTON MARTIN HAS ALWAYS THE SAME DESIGN ( APART THE ONE77) VERY BORING DESIGN CAR....I PREFER THE NEW ADVENTADOR

  • @Zoifer You should leave the caps lock off, and it's Aventador. Besides that, I partly agree with you because it is a bit predictive, although it's still a good looking car. It became more like Porsches 911, an evolution instead of a revolution.

  • @NRC63AMG Yes but i coul accept an evolution like the passage from the db9 to dbs Look that porsche has the 911 but also other model that are completely different. However i like also this Aston Martin but, as a super car factory, i I would have expected a really new model like the lamborghini have done with his new models. Do not forget also that the Aston Martin have very poor performance and fuel consumption which highlight the fact that there is still a thorough study on engine technology

  • It looks like a coupe version of the Rapide..

  • This car would look exactly the same as DB9, and to an extent DBS, to anyone not enthusiastically intimate with Aston Martin design ques, which to put in mildly is a bit disappointing seeing as how the original DB9 directives is creeping up to be almost 10 years old.

  • Regarding style changes... it would be great to slightly modify the back... that means only add chromed line as DBS. Otherwise... it's a perfect looking car! And it will be so in years from now. Beautiful!

  • Hey if it ain't broke don't fix it! Astons are probably the best looking cars that are made today so I don't see why they would need to ''refresh'' the styling. Just look at porsche, they have not changed much of the 911's esthetic over the years and it's still going great for them...

  • The front of a rapide and rear of a DBS,a good combination but it looks like Aston are running out of ideas

  • I would stretch out to buy a 458 or a MP4 instead... If i had the money of course...

  • If you think of it as an updated DB9, it all makes sense. And honestly, what the dude is driving has got to be the most gorgeous car in the whole world. Those long, sleek headlights... the dark, charcoal grey paint job... Everything about it is perfect!

    Except for 3 things:

    - The rear; the DBS has a nicer rear.

    - The side vents; I prefer the silver thing when its in the middle.

    - No manual gearbox???? OMGGG

  • @ vanquish649

That would be a better name for this car

  • They've done it the Porsche way!

  • @warrantti

For Aston this is a total new car. If you look well you will notice that it has...

    NEW HEADLIGHTS!!!

  • @MrSupercarfreak its just a rapide coupe. and my favourite aston

  • @MrSupercarfreak its just a rapide coupe. and my favourite aston

  • @MrSupercarfreak lol loving the sarcasm

  • Wow! Aston has made a "new" car

  • Milking it Aston

  • Lol I think aston is doing what Porsche does with the 911. Look the same but not really and that little bit faster.

  • 7 people drive Hondas.

  • I think I like it :)

  • Totally disagree with Sutcliffe here. The DB9 and it's variants is one of the all-time most beautiful front engined cars. I'm convinced it will be known as such in years to come. It's proportions are perfect. If i were them I wouldn't change it either.

  • @gweflj thing is though, they've been making the same beautiful car for so long. if they made something with new styling, the old ones would still exist and have historical importance, but they might just create something even better.

creativity and excellence requires evolution and change. i applaud the styling of these cars but as the man said, i've seen it all before. this car may as well be a DB9 for all of the creativity it presents.

  • @purklefluff I appreciate what you're saying but I just think some designs are classics and others should never have been built. I mean, imagine if they put modern underpinnings on a Miura, Intergrale and 246 Dino bodyshells? Podgy 599's, dull Subaru rally variants and Lotus Evora's wouldn't sell!

  • @gweflj when the db9 came i still think that it looks a bit oddish, and a lot of people would agree that the db7 looks better than the db9, but when the dbs came, that was just absolute perfection from aston martin...

  • having a collection of circuits & transistors match the revs for you on a downshift ≠ fun

  • 3.33 Eargasm

  • I want it!

  • Love it.

  • Does anybody know where this road is located?

Otherwise nice car, but I think also Aston should change the design a little bit. Especially the back. Its exactly the same!

  • they should have changed the back a lil...

  • the most radical design aston have in their lineup at the moment is the cygnet. An over priced toyota white good. That can't be right!!! all aston's are beautiful (bar the cygnet) dont get me wrong, if anyone was to turn one down they would be a fool, but there surely must be only so long they can continue to roll out the same car with a few tweaks and a different name. time to move forward and progress. I mean look at fezza for example with the ff, not everyone's cuppa, but its something new!!

  • amazing color

  • I think Aston are like Porches now , usig the similar basic design of the DB9 all over again .

  • I think this car was point less to make. Sorry

  • @sup3rcars Not exactly. The Boxster is a totally different car than a 911. This car is nothing other than a gap filler.

  • This should just be a facelift for the DB9... With this new Virage and the DBS, who the hell would buy a DB9? I do like this car a lot but having the DB9, Virage and DBS is absolutely unecessary. Aston is definitely due for an entire re-design within the next year or two... like every model. Beautiful, but, so was the first one EIGHT YEARS AGO

  • looks dated

  • i dont like the look and sound of these paddleshifters.

  • their just trying to say an aston's an aston. no difference, just power. cheep mona lisa or expensive mona lisa

  • i think its funny how Porsche gets criticized for using the same shape and design while aston martin.... hmm...

  • @t0k1d0k1eighty8 aston martins is a fucking good design though, thats the difference

  • same shape for the past 10 years !!

  • Aston Martin have found the formula for the best looking cars on the market.

Why change anything when there os nothing worth changing?

  • This car would make all kinds of sense to me if they had dropped the DB9 and this was its replacement. But to have both...and the DBS only 30hp away...makes NO SENSE!

Astons range should have: 500hp vantage...560hp Virage...620hp DBS...700hp One-77. could it get any better???

  • I love this car, but I think that for its price point, it should be faster than 4.9 seconds to 60... A V12 should probably have more like around 550-600 hp.

  • Wow, still 490 bhp? =.=

  • Love Aston Martins. But it is definitely time to change it up, it has been 10 years with the same styling from more than half a dozen of cars looking pretty much the same.

Aston is simply scared they will go back to what they used to be...

  • This car makes no sense, but it's beautiful; but it makes no sense, but it's beautiful; but it makes no sense, but it's beautiful; but it makes no sense, but it's beautiful;

    I'm getting mad!

  • nothing wrong with aston martin looking too aston martin...thats like saying this porno dvd has too much sex in it..

  • a car that costs that much with a 6 liter V12 should make more than 490bhp

  • @Bogard985 Its not ment as a supercar, its ment as a cruiser, a tourer, so 490bhp is more than enough.

  • He has no neck

  • Still want it

  • I fail to differ between the DB9, Virage or DBS ... on first glimpse, they all look exactly the same. It's worse than with Audis or Porsches.

  • Yes!!!

I can now buy an Aston DB9 with Rapid headlights and 40 more BHP.

    I'am not amused Aston.

  • autocar is making shite reviews nowadays thumbs up if i am correct

  • Love the colour, like the updated car. They really could have just called it the new DB9 and it would've made as much sense. Aston is starting to get a bit boring, yes. Where is the DB10?? And wow, what a fantastic road to drive on!! Where is that?!

  • THey so need to rework the engine. Dbs evo with 550+ hp

  • I’m really a fan of Aston, but this is pretty good. The one thing they MUST do though, is STOP COMPETING WITH FERRARI. Everytime there is a car review, they’re always compared to Ferrari, and that is just sad, because Ferrari is 200 years ahead of everyone and they’re just the best.
