This dam is in Mendoza Argentina. The base jumper's name was Carlos Gutiera. In the news in 2003 it said he didn't die but just lost his legs and was paralyzed from the neck down.

Word of advice to all who read this, Just like rock climbing, NEVER NEVER NEVER jump off of or try to climb up anything man made, (such as an old dam in this case). Buildings included and i know lots like to climb or jump off buildings, please stay away from them. Only climb natural rock faces and only base jump off natural cliffs.

Wow, I'm impressed this guy survived this jump at all. I was ready to bail after the 50 second point on the video; a human in deep physical and mental distress is not a nice thing to hear, but I'm glad I saw it through. Amazing that he survived let alone recovered. Even more amazing when you consider that 2 months later he went back and completed the jump successfully. I don't know if that's a sign of gigantic balls or insanity. Maybe both!
