I remember watching another documentary about this, made a few years ago. Researchers did try to do some DNA testing, and find them to be more related to the present day peoples in the Indian subcontinent than elsewhere. Makes sense, if you all think about it, in terms of the distance. Caucasian features doesn't always = Europe or the Middle East.
