  • Wot a beautiful video put to a beautiful song .i love wot you have done.

  • Guess the copy right on Debussy has run out by now hehe... LOVE IT!

  • If there is one song I can take with me to 'heaven' it has to be this one!

  • Whoa. This is awesome! I've never heard it before either... I don't know how I haven't but it's true. :)

  • If my ears don't deceive me,the violins at the begining and at the end are playing the opening theme of "Clair de Lune " by Debussy.

  • Did Prince have anything to do with this? I hear his arrangements in the background...

  • @paulpeartsmith GOD! This song sounded so familiar all the time to me, I just couldn't define what was it exactly that made me feel I've heard something like it but now you've enlightened me! It's totally Prince-ish ^^

  • @manandkin yeah, youre right.there were two red shoes cd singles.cloudbusting video version and running 12" were also on there.

  • ANYONE KNOW WHERE YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THIS SONG? THANKS!!!!

  • Amazing, and yes I also think Japanese =p

  • her voice iz quite rare but would like 2 know what her style ov singing iz ???

  • Thanks for the upload!

Would be even more breathtaking to my ears without some of the cheesy drum-patterns.

Her use of Debussy's Claire De Lune is GORGEOUS.

  • For some reason I think japanese when I hear this song.. Dunno why? Ö

  • love the influence of Prince!

  • this was on the bside to moments of pleasure,no? i prefer this to the a side!

  • Yes, I want alchemy, Kate!

  • seriously in love with this song!

  • Yes, this song should have been included on 'the red shoes' album....

  • I have no words...

  • I needed to hear this again today. Thank you gracious lady for all that you are.

  • It feels like she got off with the lucky beekeeper!

  • Love the tune. Better than elvis.

  • Bush is not afraid to tackle sensitive and taboo subjects. "The Kick Inside" is based on a traditional English folk song (The Ballad of Lucy Wan) about an incestuous pregnancy and a resulting suicide;

  • This makes me feel happy and relaxed;

    It's Great!!

  • Great song, the only reason I think it wasn't on the album is because it mentions cloudbusting and a part sounds like suspended in gaffa " we can't have it all " so people would have thought it was unoriginal, but it is, all of her stuff are.

  • thanks so much for posting this! is there anyway i can get hold of an mp3 of this?

  • the Goddess speaks! { BYW: Tori Amos is a thiefess!!!}

  • I forgot how Beautiful Kate is...

  • thank you robert.i never heard this before.kate is so beautiful in every way:-)

  • I would Iove a copy of this song, can anyone help me to get it. Thanks.

  • thanks for this song, had not heard it before. Does anyone know which single this was brought out on? presume this was the B side.

  • It was the B side to The Red Shoes.

  • @sjorsjimmie think it was moments of..

  • One of my favourite songs

  • Omegee - this is BEAUTIFUL!!!

    Kate is a genius!

  • This is the first i've heard this song. It's already my favourite.

  • How have I lived this long (same age as Kate) and never have heard this beautiful song before? What a lovely surprise. The fifth decade can be extremely productive. I hope she's entering into these years of wonder and discovery and wisdom so it can filter out through her music.

  • The rarest of rate B-sides and it's a bloody marvel.

'A cloudbusting sort of day' Kate's such a legend she can reference herself!

Should have been on side 2 of the Red Shoes

  • I love this, I need to find the MP3.

  • SAME! If anyone has the mp3 of this, if they could let me know that'd be great!

  • I managed to get the MP3, I'll send it to you if you'd like. =]

  • can you send it to me too, luv?

  • ooh could you send it to me too? i adore this song, and i cant find it anywhere.

  • I agree. This song is so much better than some of the tracks on The Red Shoes (TRS). But the atmosphere in this song is also different from most of the stuff on TRS which may be the reason that she left it to be a B-side. I don't konw?? But it's sure great stuff. Thanks for posting.

  • Completely lush. This should have been put on the album-a lot better than some of the tracks on The Red Soes

  • i completely agree.

  • I thought this song was called The Bee Keeper. I had this on a CD single of the Red Shoes.... Thanks for putting this on... I love it :)

  • you want alchemy? you turn debussy into pop!

  • I've heard bits of this song before but I've never heard the whole song! This is gorgeous!!!! Where on earth can I get an mp3 version?

  • Claude Debussy's "Clair de lune" brilliantly transformed to her own. Like the band "Ra Ra Riot" transformed her song "Suspended In Gaffa" in a good way.

  • KATE so tutta bella:):):) what more can I say except I TEAMO you, make love for the peaches:):):)!! BRAVO LOAMO CHIN CHIN CHENTE ANNI SALUTE CAIO:):):)!!

  • is she imitating a bee regurgitating the honey when she does that guttural yell? If so, f'n brilliant!

  • Thank you so much for posting this gem. I have been a Kate fan from hour zero on (1977), and I didn't know this song existed.

  • Where can I get a copy of this song in the USA? I need it!!!!

  • Thanks for this,

I have never heard it before, but have been living abroad....

    Beautiful song..

  • Dear God I just love her like she is family!

  • Well put!

  • massive amounts of bees are dying and along with them our agriculture.shes wild on this one vocally

  • One of my favorite Kate songs. Next is "Not This Time"

  • I can't believe I haven't heard this before.

  • It's bloody good, isn't it? I don't understand why it was relegated to the extras on a cd single either.

  • Its great, but I can see why it wasn't included, because I'm not sure it would have really fitted in with the rest of the material on the album.

But still, it's actually better than the A-track!

  • why the hell wasn't this on the red shoes?!?! shud hav taken the place of constilation of the heart!!!!!!!!!! luv it!

  • Incredible. Her voice on this is amazing, almost not of this world, so much passion. Love it.

  • alchemy is interesting.

  • This should have been on the album in place of Conesellation Of The Heart in my opinion.

  • Absolutely - couldn't agree more - but why didn't Kate make the choice - I suppose all geiuses have their off days - if you've liked this vid, I wonder if you'd like to check out my interpretation of Lord of the Reedy River? If not - then I'm glad you've enjoyed this!

  • Will Check it out now!

  • @scootyscoot4 No love Constellation of the heart...

  • Never heard this either. It is pure inspirational KATE. She cannot be categorized. Amazing woman! Brilliant song!

  • havent heard this kate song before

    its so lovely

  • Beautiful, Idf you look on ym youtube account, i have a rare audio, of kate covering the beatles, long & winding road

  • oh wow - will do that - thanks so much!

  • Thank you so much for posting this. :) Such a beautiful song, and very hard to find elsewhere, it seems.

  • Sorry for spamming, but after listening to this song a few times I've associated it with "The beekeper" probably by Tori Amos (I don't know her well). Do you think that she knew this song?

And, finally, what's so magical about being the beekeper (of course apart from being able to persuade all the bees not to sting you which is an achievement I must admit)?

  • Do I think that Tori knew this song? Is the pope catholic?!

  • OK, it seems to clear matters a bit;)

  • I've never heard the song.

    A true hidden gem:)!

  • Not her best song, but thanks for posting, I never thought I'd hear it :)

  • I disagree, the lyrics are absolutely ingenious!

These words remind me of some description I've read, stating that Jesus'es wonders were absolutely natural. Changing water into wine appears in nature only usually takes more time ;)

  • omg ive never heard this song

    its amazing

    is it new ????

  • It appears as a B-side (showing my age now) on a couple of single cds - Eat the music and And So Is Love, I think, so must date fromt he Red Shoes sessions although I don't know why it never made it to the album - but it is one of my favourites.

Thanks again for sharing your images with me!

    Bob

  • It was also a B side on the cassette for the Red Shoes. I always loved it. Thanks for posting

  • amazing! she is a legend!

    thanks so much for uploading!

    :D
