  • Where did you get the hot glue melter? I've asked around at hobby places and people have no idea what I'm talking about.

  • @iamnotnate an arts and crafts store. Michaels or AC Moore should carry it. It's called a glue pot. Worst case you can get it on amazon.

  • have you perfected casting metal yet?

i'm about to cast my first resin miniature, and was told that i'll need a centrafugle spinning machine thing to do it properly. your just using gravity to do it, like i will be using, in your opinion is that good enuff?

just so i can judge if it's worth me having a go at metal mini's

  • @anlaff Good luck with the casting. I haven't worked on any metal casting. Been too busy. RIght Now I am working on a silicon foam casting. Gravity casting is definitely good enough, unless the miniatures are too detailed/too small. Only way to find out is to do it and see!

  • with the metal. could i just melt down some scrap i have as long as it is all the same typ? or do i have to refine it before i do that or something? thanks.

  • @MrKoiking1 no refining is necessary, it will have to be the same metal. But most metals require too hot a temp. You can't easily get that temp. You need a low melting point metal to work with. Be safe!

  • @epicfantasy im guessing aluminum would work fine.

  • @MrKoiking1 dunno. I think aluminum has too high a melting point.

  • @epicfantasy Does the metal you use have lead in it?

  • @300spartanswin Been a while. I think this is bismuth.

  • @epicfantasy What is the name of the metal you use?

  • Excellent info.

  • Thank you for your quick relpy and as always correct and accuarate information . All the best

  • Can you please give any further details of your Melter please name etc ? Thank you in advance .

  • @TheSeasonman1 I got the melter at an arts and crafts store. Like Michaels or AC Moore. Walmart might have it. and Amazon does have it. It is called a Glue Pot.

  • @epicfantasy Do you have any videos on how to make a mold?

  • @300spartanswin oh yes I have a few of them. 1 part molds and 2 part mold. Gotta look around my vids and playlists. I think I have a playlist entitled Miniatures.

  • What is the name of the metal you use? Pewter is like $18 an ingot. Also would it be better if I use that hot glue melter or use a hotplate. Whichever one, can you show me where to but it?

  • @Ydouneed2nomyname I use a low melting point bismuth based metal from a company called rotometals.

  • @Ydouneed2nomyname I bought my melter at an arts and crafts store. I am not sure about the pewter. Depends on the melting temp of it.

  • @epicfantasy Thanks! Pewter also melts at a low temperature. How high does the melter go to? It is at a higher point that Bismuth, but still low. a stove can melt pewter. Besides that, what color is the Bismuth Alloy? This is just a curiosity.

  • @Ydouneed2nomyname get lead free solder from home depot. that is was i use and its like 2 pounds worth for 15$. it works great

  • @joker9494949494 What kind? Plumber's solder? Silver Solder? Or what? Thanks! I need to look into this! What temperature does it melt?

  • @Ydouneed2nomyname okay yesterday i ran to home depot and it looks like the price went way up within a year, i paid 20$ for your standard metal work solder. but i havent able to use this new brand yet, but i will update you after i try it.

  • @joker9494949494 k thnx for help

  • where do i get the rubber thing and the heater???

    btw loves your videos

  • hey did you work out the bugs yet i would like to try and make some pins as a hobby and im looking for a good way to do it

  • @strhunter666 I haven't done any metal casting. What kind of pins are you going to make? This process might be good for it.

  • Hi Thank you for showing us so many useful skill

I wonder what kind of metal you used?

I have been looking in rotometals website but just dont know which is which

  • is the metal zinc?i read that its melting point is about 420 degrees

  • Has anyone ever tried casting gamesworkshop minatures? Haha if so will it work ?

  • zinc?

  • Where do I get metal like that?? I've been looking for a while now. Thanks.

  • @kharshb7300 A company called rotometals. Amazon carries the stuff.

  • very awesome, was that pewter? when using molds, how much heat can they take? is there a metal with a slightly higher melting point, for sturdier miniatures?

  • @sinnersaint007 I used a metal with alower melting point than pewter. The molds seem to be holding up pretty well. no damage yet, There are quite a few different composite metals that have good strength.

  • No chance of a full tut? Not a lot out there on casting metal.

  • You should have used a ladle to pick hot metal and pour it on the molds. It's safer than titling the whole "furnace".

    :)

  • melted metal don't damage rubber mold?

  • what metal are you using???

  • Are you just using RTV for the mold?

  • this channel is awesome

  • i don't see why you would ever cast in metal when resin is cheaper and easier

  • @phatmonk6195 metal is cooler

  • What would you recomend as a good heating source?

    ~Dragon

  • MY NAME IS ON THAT BAR! o.o

  • can you make a video of making a dragon slayer :P but then small

  • @TheDutchGamers lol! This is a pretty neat idea! I might just make a miniature dragonslayer. Thanks for the idea :)

  • Thanks for makeing the video i needed to know that

  • nice
