  • high school favorite!!! great f..ckin times!

  • great song sing it all the time but my fave is primary what we know more we go less we go.

  • have to love it when you can introduce your young adult kids to this and they go "shit you had better music in the 80's than we have now"!!! Had to explain to them what it was like listening to the cure, clash, radio birdman, shriekback then was "alternative" not mainstream lol.

  • Faith - one of my all time favourite albums and Primary still rocks today

  • loO0Oove

  • fuck !

if this song doesn't move you, you must be dead.

great to hear long term cure freaks still diggin' it after 30 years.

    but why wouldn't you ?

    never enough.

  • simply class

  • 55555555* great!

  • Sweeeeeet! I wanna blare this in a Corvette goin' down a midwest highway!

  • Doesn't get much better than this, how could it? I'm 48 years old, remember it new & have the 7 inch vinyl on my old jukebox today. QUALITY!

  • a bass to another dimension,sic!

  • it's called the 12" mix, people--a rather common occurance

(the label on the 7" is cooler--silver --fiction)

  • the label on the 7" is cooler--silver --fiction

  • jesus. dear misft13, you just made my day. didn't even know that version could possibly exist.

  • Just goes to show you can never categorize The Cure. Just when you think you know their style they go ahead and nail you with something like Primary and then 6 minutes later they hit you with Underneath the Stars followed up by Bare and then One Hundred Years followed by Sinking.

A convincing TKO to The Cure...

  • MISFIT--THIS IS A TREASURE! I never heard it before. VIVA THE CURE! VEVO's 'classic version' is garbage compared to this!.....and so, for that matter, is VEVO, that pack of greedy leftie-loving, money-grubbing, song-mangling scoundrels!

  • My favorite song.

  • This 12" still sits proudly in my record collection

  • This, too, was my first The Cure, song

  • Outstanding version, love this song !!!, I think this band never received the credit they deserve for the contribution in the 80s with the unlike sound and probably because they always preferred to be in the underground line and not be commercial as many other bands choice.

  • simply a masterwork.there's no other word to explain it!

  • awesome I meant, one of the best tracks ever. Thank you robert, loved this song when i was young still love it now.

  • the drum and bass is aweome in this song :))

  • Still have this 12" vinyl

Used to spin this @ The Twilight Zone F*# kin LOUD Yeaaaaaaaa !!

    LUV IT !! WOOF !!!!

  • Outstanding

  • the high bass is rad, like a drug

  • Why couldn't I have written this song!?!

  • @halfcabdisaster7 because........ The further we go

    And older we grow

    The more we know ...

    The less we show ...

  • Great extended version of my 2nd favourite Cure song. Hope they do one more tour and come to NZ before they hang up their guitars. First and only time I saw them was at the old Wellington Town Hall in 1979. Only one regret, I can't remember the concert, but I'm sure they were great. I tell a lie. I can recall the creepy opening riffs to another Cure favourite. At Night.

  • thanks so much for posting this!!! my most favorite cure song ever!! :D

  • man, youve got some real gems here!

  • I love this song its always been my favourite Cure track! Great to drive to on the empty motorway at one in the morning at full blast. Great to hear the extended version.

  • You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar - I've been dying to hear the extended version of this song for years and years! Well Done!

  • OMG !!!!! WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD THIS SONG please HELP ME HUMANS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @8watawat one word R E A L P L A Y E R, converts mp4 to mp3 too, take it right off here on youtube.

  • Back in the day I had this extended version so it's great to hear it again...but let's be honest , cheeky old Robert Smith managed to get away with simply doing a speeded up version of Charlotte Sometimes. I promise you - in the old days when you could play your 45rpm single at 33rpm you could prove that the two are exactly the same. Still love them both tho'

  • Classic Cure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1Feels like I'm running down on guitar strings!

  • thanks for uploading this xtdnd version!

  • Still one of my all time favorite bands....remember concerts in 78 NZ, 84 London, these guys were simply awesome....still are!!!

  • Best song...best version...well done misft13 for finding and posting, you've made this ageing cure fan with vivid memories of the eighties very happy

  • Pretty much my all time favourite from the 80's along with A Forest - long may The Cure live & rock!!!

  • timesless and always cool

  • Thanks for posting...inner song forever.

  • Kewl!

  • love this thanks

  • This was a kind of random song. It's an upbeat punk song sandwiched in the middle of a quite dark , Bleak album in Faith.

  • @guitar241990 It's just as dark if you look the lyrics and understand the meaning, it's about the disadvantages of growing old and children being put to sleep ritually

  • Good God, Am I the only one who can't hear NOTHING at all?

  • Wow, this is your favorite Cure song? I always thought it was one of their weaker ones. Too much like regular rock n' roll and they're capable of so much more than that! Oh well, to each his own!

  • Awesome. love it. just the best band ever........LOVE THEM....

  • 1st song i heard of the cure good now as it was when i heard it back then..the bass line rips..

  • Great version of a great song. How many other tracks can you think of which has no guitars on, but 2 lead basses? Saw them half a dozen times or so in the early 80s whilst at university - used to travel miles in extreme discomfort all across the north of England.

  • I have always absolutely loved this song but to get to hear the extended version just rocks!! Wow!! Our radio station never played this version. Figures! The Cure has been my all time favorite band for 26 years and will continue on forever!! This song always makes me just want to get up and dance, no matter what i am doing!! This song just grabs you!! Another amazing song from such an amazing band of all time!! The Cure forever!!

  • @darkforest121 yes me too love this vertion .....rob smith is so cool on bass love it ..scotland

  • this is epic!

  • I cant believe i never heard their old stuff... they are the fucking best! Great song, i cant get bored of it no matter what!

  • This is so amazing! :)

  • I have this on vinyl from an Australian label. It doesn't have this cover.

  • Songs like these are hardwired into the brain if you grew up listening to KROQ.

I hope all these euro bands are paying out royalties to Richard Blade...

  • so true lyrics...

    thanx for uploading this gem.

    The Cure-FOREVER

  • After drinking a pot of coffee and spinning The Cure's extended rare re-mix version of "PRIMARY"...... for about an hour.....I feel like I'm 19 again ....... but there's no way I'm dying my hair maroon again & staying out all night!! @misft excellent post ...

  • This is The SHIT still M8* !!!! Thanks for Post I still have the 12"!

  • thanks so much for posting. This could be one of my most Fave songs ever.

  • The Cure never gets old: good music never dies.

  • @halfcabdisaster7- Well remarked!

  • @halfcabdisaster7 agreeed much hi 5

  • This was my first Cure video/song I ever heard. I've been entranced ever since. KROQ was the best along with 91X. Thanks much for this!!!

  • even 30 yrs later this still gets me up and pogoing lol

  • @william3231954 To the AUTOBAHN! ;))))

  • As much as this song is my favourite Cure song too, the extended version doesn't really add much to it.

  • ¡ESTÁ BUENÍSSSIMO!!!!

  • Every cure song is that greatest. I love you Robert!

  • Seriously this has been like XMas and my Bday in one. Unbelievably great song.

  • thanks for posting this....one of my favorite Cure songs...

  • Thanks for this. I can see you're a KROQ fan also. Thank God for KROQ in the 80's. I used to live right down the street from the station in Pasadena, Los Robles St. Do you remember Poo Bah's record store also? In Pasadena off of Colorado st.

  • @1969Brookie i used to go to poo bahs all the time i met rodney on the rock there.he was so cool.he said god head alot.i loved jed the fish and swedish eagle and dusty street.wow those were the days.

  • @nuwavething... Yes, wonderful Poo Bahs. I've gotten many rare Cure vinyls from there back in the 80's and early 90's that I just recently found again after sooo many years not knowing where the heck they were. I have many Cure vinyl promos my Disintegration promo and kiss me kiss me kiss me promo are my favorites. Love them Promo and rare Cure vinyls :)

  • @nuwavething... It's amazing how KROQ a little radio station in Pasadena turned into the "world famous KROQ" now. Even Dr. Drew who hosted loveline (not sure if he still does because I live in Idaho now and have been for sometime. No KROQ here :( ). He's become a huge success now. I remember calling loveline when i was about 14-15 years old and talking to Dr. Drew. I am 41 now, lol. So silly.

  • @1969Brookie

Totally remember the Los Robles location and Poo Bahs! Ah, sweet memories!

  • @1969Brookie Is there a station now that plays underground 80's

Do you remember Hot ! Hot ! Hot ! or Aupairs it's obvious ?
