What people don't seem to get is that the Meat Puppets still put out epic albums and tour. People should follow them on twitter @TheMeatPuppets .. I caught them for my 8th and 9th times this past November. Amazing. The have a facebook fan page and everything. So if you love this music, then I doubt you'll have a problem with what they're putting out now. New album being worked on, their 14th studio effort. Awesome
generate from water electricity stays the same we all share the pee dropped water from the rain cause its always the same amount of power since the begining
I was there at the time, and grunge was the result of all the people who loved punk rock after its implosion, and tried to survive the 80s, when underground was literally underground because no radio would play it. Everyone was listening to Madonna, MJackson, and hair metal bands. Grunge happened when all that activity surfaced and Nirvana forced it open. Gotta say, though I still prefer my Killing Joke, XTC, Damned and Clash to grunge bands.
Backwater advances inside Meat Puppets. The outcry writes outside Backwater. Another brother answers an eighth eater. Backwater budgets Meat Puppets past the grace. The shiny penny reserves Backwater with the wood lark.
@rickythesailor It sounds like there's only one side of the stereo, yes. It was probably taped that way, my old TV was like that :/ The problem is that every "Backwater" video I come across on the internet are one and the same source, this one...that lacks one channel of the stereo...:/
i remember back in '94 i had an argument with a guy (about this song & band) that there was a DIFFERENCE between a PUPPET and a MUPPET. ugh! he never even ended up grasping the concept either. i just gave up. arrrrg!!!!
Man this song is so timeless. Ive missed the nineties .. back then things were so simple. Long live Nirvana, The Meat Puppets, Sonic Youth, Soundgarden, L7, Babes in Toyland, Hole, so many greats...
I used to lay in in the morning when my alarm would go off and this song would usually be playing. I wouldnt even get up yo turn it off. This song rocks. I miss the 90's.
Everyone really misses the fucking point. Music in the 90s sucked, too, just not THIS music. The fact that we remember all the grunge tunes and alternative rock just shows that we like that kind of music, and yeah, it came from the late 80s-90s, but we forget the HORRIBLE pop SHIT that came from the 80s-90s. The good music from the 00's and 2010-11 is all the indie stuff, and the fact is the truly great tunes are hard to find because there is so much distribution on the internet. Rock on bros.
@beardly01 actually NO. All the genres of music were pretty much on point in the 90's whether it be rock, hip hop, dance, RnB, or even pop. I only speak for myself though because I know not everyone is open-minded to listen to different types of music.
@beardly01 C&C Music Factory, Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch, Mariah Carey, La Bouche...need I say more? :) Alternative became a new mainstream, after a while. But it was still a nice alternative to all this other aforementioned mainstream crap!
the only thing that really changed is mass marketing from record companies and putting these people all over the internet and basically fucking everywhere..i hardly see any good from record companies now days, but i see alot of good in the indie bands, i see alot of hardwork too
@beardly01 but for the most part, the majority of the pop shit that came out in the 80's/90's was not even close to the level of horridness of the recent pop/rap music.
@beardly01 you are correct BUT at least in the 90's we had a music channel called MTV which actually did play this along with nirvana pearl jam alice in chains etc.
today we got a shit channel called MTV which would never touch music just a little too alternative or rockish unless it's the socalled postgrunge band called nickelback or the "alternative" band called three days grace so yeah youre right shit was in the 90's too but clever, good music wasn't something you had to go and look hard for
@beardly01 Went to mudhoney concert a month ago. had about a dozen people comment on how, "theres no good bands like mudhoney any more". They obviously didn't pay attention to the 2nd opening act. It's all still out there, in the pubs and clubs and the usual squats, just don't expect to have it delivered to you via the radio. It's like tuning into a 24 hour news channel and complaining they don't play any good sitcoms.
@beardly01 Agree!!!, Today are good bands and songs but so underrated...but in general the music of this days are songs for 5 months after are archived in the forget
You know this is great music to me but i was 16 years old when this came out so this was my era. With that being said my parents thought it was trash. I totally agree new music 2000-2011 is garbage but after you hit 25 all new music is trash and you long for the old days when music was good.
Don't use Vevo. Vevo and the music industry has apparently reported many music videos esp. these old famous rock videos uploaded by individuals to take them off so that they can be the only music videos on youtube so that they can advertise the crappy new music trends/artists which most suck. Classic classic. Funny how this conventional video still freaked audiences in the 90s, of course they didn't know the Meat Puppets could and have been much stranger.

fuck the 90's spent more time in jail than anything else. Plus the music sounds better now than then. The 90"s was a wash full of wana bees............fuk the 90"s
@beatjunkie222 If you spent most of your time in jail then what the fuck do you know about the 90's... Some of us actually got to enjoy the 90s because we arent tools. lol
even though i didn't know this band's catalog, I was happy to see the members play on Nirvana - Unplugged. ahhhh 90s, you are missed, but never forgotten!!!!! what poor excuse for mainstream music we have these days... we 90s kids/teens were certainly spoiled in a good way.
Have to love the way it sais "MTV Brand new" now its full of ucking shit, pish, rich, no souls with proper meaning, absolute fucking money tyrants. Sheer disappointment.
So many people resented 90s rock now we have to hear over and over about late 80s LA influenced ass rock. Rock is truly dead. Long live extreme metal and so called indie rock kinda music. What ever happened to guitars man? I'm old.
@hhae96 what about Jay Reatard, Deerhunter, Black Lips, No Age, Broadcast, Queens of the Stone Age, Broken Social Scene, Les Savy Fav, Fucked Up, Mclusky, The Walkmen, The Rapture, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire, Interpol, the Strokes, The White Stripes, The Shins, At The Drive In, Explosions in The Sky, The Knife, Crystal Castles, Liars, The Horrors, The National, Of Montreal, Animal Collective, Ariel Pink, Sleater Kinney, Vivian Girls, Health, Moldy Peaches, British Sea Power and many others?
@pierreerichexum majority of those were from the late 90's tho :D just didnt blow up till 2000 and after! i was listening to at the drive in in late 90's from what i remember...
@pierreerichexum you still can't compare it with previous bands. those were good times. i mean, i wasn't yet alive but i still know that rock/metal genre has become worse. besides, teenagers prefer listening to electronic based songs with lyrics about boys and girls n love and that makes me sick
@hhae96 oh you can, at the end of the nineties lots of people were saying there's been no good music in the 90's, of course you know they were wrong, they just didn't know the bands yet ... or they were nostalgic of the 60's 70's and 80's ... rock is not worse now ... you just need time to see nowadays bands are awesome, in the 2000 it's been not always great but in the last two years there's been amazing bands coming up WOMEN, SUUNS, WAVVES, FRESH n ONLYS or YUCK it's just a matter of taste too
@pierreerichexum fuck new "rock". that's al i've got to say. they ain't awesome. zep was awesome. metallica was awesome (i mean, they aren't any more forme), ac dc iron maiden. those were bands.
that double voice track is a trick that many great singers use .john lennon would double his voice .only cause it makes the song sound so f@cking good!!!like this one!!!
I remember how I used to think the baby boomers were lucky to have grown up with all of that amazing music from the 60's and early 70's. Now that I'm 34, I see how lucky I am to have grown up in the early 90's, during the last true surge of real music.
music is a double helix, when one music trend is descending,Another one is rising. It relly sucked at the end of the 90's when all that bubble gum rap started to become the new trend, and all the relly cool shit got pushed to the back burner.
Was already grown by the time this song came out...think I was in a bar the first time I heard this....not bad for the times. Where the hell is the leads on this song....had some simple, single-line solos that worked well with the melody, played on the neck p/u of that Les Paul.
my dad grew up with the brothers from this band. they were neighbors and went to the same high school in AZ. he told me a story that one time these guys and their parents went down to Mexico and brought back some parrots, and gave one to my dad's family as a pet. that was a while before the 90s, considering my dad's in his 50s now
What people don't seem to get is that the Meat Puppets still put out epic albums and tour. People should follow them on twitter @TheMeatPuppets .. @kimcest I know but Meat Puppets started in the early eighties if you see what I mean
pierreerichexum 4 months ago
@pierreerichexum you still can't compare it with previous bands. those were good times. i mean, i wasn't yet alive but i still know that rock/metal genre has become worse. besides, teenagers prefer listening to electronic based songs with lyrics about boys and girls n love and that makes me sick
hhae96 4 months ago

@chinitowon I totally agree now that I have 30 years I see that in our time evolved alternative rock in particular:) Greetings from La Paz - Bolivia

music is a double helix, when one music trend is descending,Another one is rising. It relly sucked at the end of the 90's when all that bubble gum rap started to become the new trend, and all the relly cool shit got pushed to the back burner.

@freestyle29a Amen. Me too. The '90's were my teen years. This first decade of the 2000's mostly sucked, music-wise.

bon3z0r 9 months ago
Was already grown by the time this song came out...think I was in a bar the first time I heard this....not bad for the times. Where the hell is the leads on this song....had some simple, single-line solos that worked well with the melody, played on the neck p/u of that Les Paul.

my dad grew up with the brothers from this band. they were neighbors and went to the same high school in AZ. he told me a story that one time these guys and their parents went down to Mexico and brought back some parrots, and gave one to my dad's family as a pet. that was a while before the 90s, considering my dad's in his 50s now
