Wow! The undercut below the end of the fingerboard is indeed visible in the video and the sound difference is palpable. The dulcimer is so much louder, rounder, and softer when the card is removed. I'm really surprised not that there is a difference, but how profound the difference is.
Oh this is a very interesting video. My dulcimer is only a very simple "folkfriends" model, and I had to work a lot on it with sandpaper to make it work as I wanted :-)
