This reminds me why I'm not an atheist. The absurdity of the statement: "I believe that God does not exist" should be evident to anyone capable of acknowledging the absurdity of the statement: "I believe that God exists." Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Any conviction that God does not exist is just as baseless as the conviction that he does, resting on the assumption that humans can know all that there is to know about the universe, which is ridiculous; we are limited creatures.
Atheism isn't "true" as a positive statement because atheism isn't one. A better descriptor for atheism is 'logically valid' and then only as a response that dismisses unproven god assertions.
@inlets1 Atheism is not a statement of absolute knowledge---it's a statement about belief. Agnosticism is about what you know or claim to know. It is possible (indeed likely) to be both.
I do not have absolute knowledge there is no god(s), therefore I'm an agnostic. But I also have no reason to believe there is a god(s) without good evidence. In the absence of evidence no belief (atheism) is the logical default position. Therefore I am both agnostic AND atheist.
@inlets1 I've never said I know everything about the universe just because there's no
higher power watching over it. I've said I'd love to learn it all. I've said putting an imaginary being before fellow human beings is ridiculous and unnecessary without further prove of the existence of said being. I've never said I know everything.
I am an atheist and I do my best to convince people that religion is bullshit and I do so as pursuasivelly and logically as I can every day. Not only is this a great pass time, a good way to practice your rhetoric skills and teach you more about life, the world and science, it also tells me exactly what kind of ration of stupid to clever people there are around me at any given time.
Curiously enough, occasionally I feel annoyed when people agree with me. =P
I have never once heard an atheist try to presuade me, usually they just take a pot shot about God being a wizard, then chicken out of a debate. I figure this is a tell tale sign of utter cowardice, and not too surprisingly so. Those who have nothing to fight for, will have nothing to gain in winning.
If you want to say the bible makes no sense be my guest, can't fault someone for ignorence, but don't pretend you know something about science because you can insult someone who has faith.
I dont really think its sad that a bunch of over zealous nuts died from stupidity, its not like humans are an endangered species. Its ridiculous the way religion is forced upon scociety in the 21st century, if you tell someone you saw a UFO they laugh at you but its perfectly fine that they believe a single being created an entire universe from nothing gimme a break. Did you know the film "The golden compass" wont have a sequal because the catholic church believes it promotes heracy. FFS wankers
I just wanted to throw that out there, that you have a BELIEF in something. I also have a BELIEF in something....neither has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. The world is naturally drawn towards chaos and I just can't believe that all of this happened for NO REASON, ACCIDENTALLY when ever sense that one perfect thing happened (evolution began) the world is chaotic and NOTHING goes right, constantly going a wry. It just doesn't add up for me. But, my way of thinking doesn't add up for you.
Am I a believer in God, absolutely. I believe because of personal experiences, and maybe you have not had any of those experiences, so YOU do not have a reason to believe this. That's fine, I respect your beliefs. My husband was a die hard, antagonistic atheist for the first 3 years or so that we were together. Nothing I said or did swayed him in ANY way, I wouldn't expect it to...after all any changes that come in a person in regards to belief in God come from God, NOT from me or believers.
@axel5735 Absolutely. There are countless experiences I have had that prove to me that God exists (which I don't have room to write them all but you are more than welcome to e-mail me if you would like to have a discussion about them krystalelder85@yahoo.com) . The largest one (which also happens to be how my husband is now a believer) was a shared experience for the both of us that happened over a period of about 6 months or so. When my husband and I first started dating he was an atheist
and no one could prove him any differently. He didn't care about talking about God with people and he wouldn't get angry or heated in the convo...because he didn't believe it anyways. I ended up moving in with him and his family right out of high school. He had lived in this house since he was born, mind you. I started doing Bible studies and things like that in the house and some pretty bizarre stuff started to happen. I saw a HUGE shadow int he middle of the night that took up our entire

I started doing Bible studies and things like that in the house and some pretty bizarre stuff started to happen. I saw a HUGE shadow int he middle of the night that took up our entire
door frame from top to bottom in the middle of the night. I saw a few more things as well and it scared the crap out of me!! Then, Russ (my husband) started to see things. He saw 2 apparitions. One was in the middle of the night when he was in the kitchen getting a snack. He said he felt total dread, like he had never felt before and felt like some one was behind him. He turned around and what looked like "energy" was standing behind him.
The "energy" looked like ripples you see on a hot summer day coming up off of the ground but in the shape of a person...or being. He said he just stood there and watched it for about 3 or 4 minutes (frozen in fear) before it started moving toward him. When it reached him he said it was really cold. Again, he was an atheist and the first thing he thought to do was tell it to get out of his house in the name of Jesus Christ.
Then, a few weeks later we were doing a Bible study with a friend of ours (after all the craziness in the house he became a little more interested in Christianity lol) While we were doing the study we started to hear EXTREMELY loud whistling coming from the living room. At first we thought it was the tv or something but then we started hearing the commercials changing in the back ground. It sounded like an old "workers" tune and it was super, super creepy.
I was completely frozen and so were Russ and Steph. My brain pretty much literally went into over load because it can't interpret what is happening...because it's not logical AT ALL. I legit couldn't move. It was the scariest day of my life. You could hear the whistling going back and forth from the living room to the kitchen and back again. I swear,it lasted a full 10-15 minutes long enough that I KNOW it happened. I was praying at the time but they weren't. They heard a REALLY
deep voice yell "GO!" or "NO!" right in their ear, I heard nothing at all. There were many other happenings in that house once a believer stepped foot into it (every one in his family were atheists). He finds it exceptionally strange that once I moved in all hell broke loose and for 20 years prior to this he never saw/heard/experienced ANYTHING like that, ever. There are more experiences I have had as well, but that is the most physically evident that there is a battle betwene good and evil
@UGodLuvs Sounds more like a ghost to me, maybe even schizophrenia. I highly doubt your husband was an Atheist if the first thing he decided to do after he realized strange things were going on was to have the god he doesn't think exists wish it away. If you think loud whistling is proof of a battle between good and evil in your house I'd recommend seeing a psychologist.
@axel5735 Yes, it does sound like "ghosts" but I don't believe in "ghosts" as what many other people believe them to be. The Bible says a person that dies and goes to heaven won't want to come back here and a person who dies and goes to hell isn't allowed to come back here. So, now what could these apparitions be then? We know that both angels and demons are allowed here. So, how would you explain the fact that nothing like this ever happened in his house until I moved in? Everyone saw things.
@UGodLuvs There could be many possible explanations that don't involve the supernatural. If you want to blame it on angels and demons fighting in your house then I'd first advise you to look into other explanations before you equate it to your religion. Even the testimonies of seeing Heaven and Hell after death leave me unmoved because the person is 99.9% of the time the person is a Christian or doesn't realize how the brain works when it lacks oxygen.
@axel5735 What other explanations? I'm sorry man, but either you beleive nothing created energy and the energy happened to explode and create matter and electromagnatism aswell as gravity, or something beyond physical matter broke the cycle of "what came before that..." and created a well defined universe and reality governed by mathematical principals and laws. What exactly are you getting at? Something broke the physical laws and dynamics or else nothing would still exist.
@MagnusCattus What are YOU talking about? This conversation is about her hearing whistling noises and claiming that it's proof of a battle between angels and demons in her house. Please read before jumping to conclusions.
ok well I wasn't listening, I don't have all day to read comments, so forgive me if I assumed you were talking about something else. I thought you were talking about the origin of life. If you weren't fair enough, but my statement about it still stands
@axel5735 ok ya my mistake, i'm big enought to admit that.
Firstly angels and demons are not fighting in her house. If it is anything it is simply demons having a bit of fun with her, I have come to realise they must take great pleasure in seeing humans come up with such idiotic explantions.
You said, "We consider it inherently undesirable to go through life believing something that is false." Unfortunately, you have no way to knowing that what you believe is true...as in hard evidence...by "you" I mean every single person standing and living on this Earth. Granted, I graduated from college (a secular college) about 6 months ago, and maybe times have already changed...but when I took Biology and geology only about 9 months ago it was called "The theory of evolution."
This is bullshit. This is where the 1st amendment piss me off. It should apply to Islam and atheist homosexuals like you. Get a fucking counselor and sort out your life. Turn to the one and only god and ask for forgiveness from your sinful life. All your videos is bullshit lies.
@bozerabc123 are fucking kidding me you just made everything what this girl just say true! read the title and if you dont like click away you idiot, you dont have make youtube a fukin church
I would submit to you (Zj) that your comments about time wasted on religious activities is, in many ways, the pot calling the kettle black.
Would it be fair to say that you've expended a great deal of time and effort in the creation of these videos, in an effort to change the opinions of religious folks whom you have deemed to be "wasting their time"? But since there's zero chance of you changing their beliefs, who's time is actually being wasted?
@druuzil He's not trying to change anyone's beliefs love. He's stateing a fact and opinion. No where in his video has he said 'You are wasting your time'. Think and listen before you start anything.
1:38 "If their religion is wrong, they've been wasting their time and money".
So yes, he directly states that religeon is a waste of time (if it's wrong), and we can infer (not that he's trying to hide it) that he believes that religeon IS wrong, and thereby a waste of time.
1:40 "What good is it to devote a significant portion of your life and income to something that isn't even real?"
@druuzil What do you care how she or he spends him or hers time? She's cool, informative, educated, ladylike, has a different look everytime , if her videoes convert just 1 person to reality and reason then it's all worth it .
I am an atheist, but I don't mess with other people's beliefs unless I feel that they are harmful or hateful. I do get tired of people just stating their beliefs as fact, though. Unless God or Allah or Athena or Cthulhu comes down to earth and indicates that a specific religion is true, then I won't bother with any of it. IMO, any benevolent god who demands to be followed to escape damnation must first make it obvious which religion is the right one. Therefore, I can't picture a benevolent god.
@Tamugetsu Its not just that. People insist on believing in craptastic gods instead of cool gods like Thor or Perseus. It always has to be a geriatric bearded coffin dodger in a nightgown.
@Tamugetsu So if you are to have faith, you need something to happen where you don't need any. Fantastic, God will get right on that just because YOU said so.
Again, another ignorant atheist. God is real. He can do anything. He is almighty and all powerful and He loves us all. Mary got pregnant without knowing a man, God can do this because He is God. The Lord Jesus was resurrected from the dead, and believing in Him washes away all of our sins with His blood.
@munku121 did you know Mary was 11 years old giving birth to jesus? Now if gods so loving and merciful why make a child thats reproductive organs aren't mature enough to correctly house a child, and if he's merciful god woulda impregnated a woman whose had a couple kids so her body would'nt have a hard time , not make a child go thru a childbirth , what's merciful about that?
I don't give any value to something where you can just be hold what the "truth" is, the truth of something means nothing if you havent worked hard to figure it out yourself.
[continued]...and what I mean by that is, there are people that just sit down and are like "Well, why wouldn't you beleive in God? You die and it turns out that God wasn't real? Then what does it matter? You lose nothing, if it turns out he was, then you survived ETERNAL DAMNATION." I passionately HATE that type of argument, why does such a person even exist, what purpose is their to life at all if you don't question your existence, if you dont search for answers yourself.
Religion has only ever attracted people largely because of the fear of the unknown, which is fine really, if people get comfort from that then I've no issues with that, but Religion has no place in the world outside of that, it has no place in schools, no place in politics, no place in medicine or anything even remotely important.
@nicolebaresi I dont want to argue about religion. But if you look at the two highest rated comments on this video, they insult anyone with a religion. It seems that in this video, s/he just example really random sects, but neglects to remember that Christianity is centered around moral values, and I just find it hard to believe that you atheists all take instruction from a homosexual hermaphrodite who rides off of every bad thing she can find. S/he is truly a product of our time.
@AlbusPercyDumbledore Oh is Christianity centred around moral values? Going from the way you've acted here, your seemingly not a very good Christian.
And so what aobut the highest rated comments? So because some people say some bad things directed at religious people, you instead decide to take it out on the author of the videos, who frankly makes good commentary in them in the 2 or so videos of hers I've actually seen.
@nicolebaresi There is no good commentary in this. All I got from this is that she says all religion is a lie. I think that in the 21st Century the author should abide by human rights in that everyone has a freedom of religion. What sickens me is that this thing runs around trying to strip people of faith, and turn them into believing nothing. There is a reason that there is a massive influx of atheism in Western Society, as opposed to the East. Bells and whistles corrupt.
Almost the way Religion likes to arrogantly say how they know everything about the way the world works, even in the face of evident against, and no evidence for (whatsoever).
Ironic to see a Religious person accuse someone of narrowmindness heh.
And yea, there is a reason for it, its called the end of commnism which oppessed religion, whereas in Western Europe (where I'm from) people are less "scared", so Religion loses its main attraction.
@nicolebaresi Hello again. I do believe in a God and I respect your point of view, and thank you for the interesting arguments, its just that this person really riles me because this videos creator is just so up itself. I really do not think that this person is as very good representative of your atheism, and I do believe that it should respect other peoples beliefs, rather than denounce them as "wrong" because I would never say that to an atheist because I respect the sanctity of their mind.
@AlbusPercyDumbledore Well, look at it from our side, Atheists are guility of it too, but it's largely been a Religious thing to ram Religion down the throats of other people, trying to force their views onto others, frankly thats what turned me away from it.
Listen I really don't have a problem with someone who believes in God because they believe in him, my main gripe is that people believe in God because its a "safe" thing to do...[continued]
@nicolebaresi I have to agree albus here. This thing in the video seems to believe that anyone with a religion is under a false premise and talks down to them as such but this is not true. Look at Albert Einstein, one of the smartest people to ever walk the face of Gods earth. He always stated that all his theories further proved the existance of God not denounce it, and I can tell you now, that Einstein could crush this creatures closed minded views with one swoop. God have mercy on your souls!
@Kaecirr Even whether Religion is true or not is really a secondary issue, I personally don't really care if someone believes in God, they are welcome to do it if its their choice, its the mindless people who are forced into religion (mostly by their parents) who cant think for themselves and the people who are trying to turn Religion into something more important than it is, Christians are trying to turn America into Islam 12th century.
@Kaecirr And if you don't know what I mean by that, I'll explain.
From around the 9th century to around the 12th century, Baghdad (Iraq) was pretty much the centre of the world "intellectually", its where most of the discovers were made (its why alot of stars have arabic names, because they were discovered during this time) but during the 12th century a new philosphy rose up which basically was in its simplest form "science is evil", and Islam scientiically haven't recovered in 900 years.
@nicolebaresi Thanks for accepting and respecting that other people have their own views and beliefs. I do not wish to get into a theological debate. What upsets me is that the person in this video is acting completely naive and should learn that others have the right to express and believe in whatever they wish to. I wouldn't mind so much if she didn't just outright say thal all religions are wrong and instead presented her view respectfully but this isn't the case.
@Kaecirr Well, I'm not gonna really get into an argument about whether its real or not, I personalyl don't believe in God at all.
The one thing that really gets on my nerves is the fact that Religious people just ignore the questions, how can you live your life without asking them, "Does God exist?" and the many others. I also have a deep disliking for the idea of believing in God cause its safe, "If he exists great, if not what does it matter?" thats the worst thing that someone can believe in.
lies are necceseary sometimes. lies can help people feel good about themselfs sometimes. lies can both be yoused negativly and possitivlity. terrible speller i know =p
atheism is NOT! a religion and we are not trying to make others be atheists the reason why we are bitching and show anger is that you religius people are always comming on to us and try to force us to convert
@guyonfire87 I'm a Christian and I bleieve that no one should '' force"' you to do anything, that should come from your own heart. If anyone is forcing me to do anything, then I probably will rebel. Thats just my 2 cents. Thankyou.
One more thing, just to correct inaccuracies posted by another commenter:
Hitler didn't go to war for his atheistic beliefs. Stating that Hitler was an atheist is also inaccurate. Some historians will point out that he was an atheist, while others will point out that he was an ardent christian. Until this is established beyond dispute, it's unfair to label his belief as either. Play fair, or go home.
Two, the USSR didn't fall into ruin because it tried to stamp out religion. True, communism i
The burden of proof isn't on Atheists to prove that God doesn't exist, but rather on believers to prove that he does. Putting the burden on Atheists to prove that God doesn't exist is akin to putting the burden on Atheists to prove that Zeus and the gods of Olympus, or any other ancient gods don't exist either. If you're open minded enough to believe in the Jewish God, then you should be open minded enough to believe in all the other gods too... and you should be, because God himself acknowledg
Atheism is founded upon the faith that there is no God (it's faith because it can't be proven). Hitler was an atheist, evolutionist and logical. He ordered millions killed for his "faith". USSR tried to stamp out God but only plunged its country(s) into death & misery. These are just two proofs that there is more to this topic than calling theists "retarded". Many PhD's from secular universities believe in God (not a question of logic)
Very interesting! However, every single point is based upon the assumption "if".
If there is not God; if there is no hell. That assumption is just that - an assumption that cannot be proven. To prove there is not God we'd have to travel everywhere - including outside of time and space. Hey, we haven't even seen all there is on earth yet. You never distinguished between faith in God as opposed to man-made religion. What about the hospitals & colleges? Most all started by Christians! hmmm
@video: is it really sad when religious zealots killed themselves for silly beliefs? grounded in no evidence or personal experience whatsoever? we hav an overpopulated planet after all...
@video: ur six moral dealbreakers of christianity, the reality of choice, hardwork, and justice, all helped me c there is no hell. it does leave me depressed that there is no punishment for those who've kept thier secrets from the justice system thier whole lives. where is the justice in this? I like 2 believe karma exists cuz it relieves me from carryin my burden of anger and the knowlegde that justice will b done one way or another
@video: I am like these private minded-individuals. I believe that religous practice is a don't ask don't tell issue. keep it away from the public, share only wit those who u know believe like u but still in private away from others. don't tell kids what 2 believe, and don't present ur guess as the best guess about spirituality or lack thereof. its just not relevant 2 everyday life
cont. I think that this Machiavellian principle of be feared but also loved is quite a good justification for religion. I'm fairly liberal and think conspiracy theories are bullshit generally but using religion to control people is quite a good idea as the vox populous is not generally saying intelligent things. Also from a simply economic stand point religion is actually a good thing.
Have you read the Republic? If not I highly recommend it (dont mean to sound patronising by the way). But in it Socrates states that in his utopian society, the people would be told a myth, that each strata of society was created with either gold, silver or bronze and this was meant to try and keep order and promote the best people to the best positions and to stop those lower down the scale from taking power as it was said that if that happened then the city would be destroyed.
I have a question for you. i follow your beliefs, and i think personally if faith was indeed taken out of the picture (i'm atheist myself mind) and faith didn't exist, therefore "sin" didn't exist, don't you think some people would be tempted to commit crime further, now that there is no afterlife in which they would need to theoretically pay for their sins? just curious on your thoughts about this. Or do you take the stance that morals would still exist without faith?
Its true that not all atheists "witness". I am an atheist but I dont do it because I know for me it would be useless. Still its very awful how everybody else wants me to believe what they believe....
I never got to believe in santa, but I think that the fun of Christmas is when you take time to think about other people close to you, and give them a present and seeing their face light up! More fun than receiving gifts left and right, feeling almost entitlement and spoiled :) Funny that you think that, everyone I know seems to take reality or life for granted all the time. I find it's underrated, we don't really take time to appreciate the beauty of
@sillysillyface our friends, family, nature, possessions... even being alive. Nobody is really amazed that they have a mysterious, complex and wonderful brain anymore, or that millions of processes work in their body every second for them to breathe. I think u r trying to say that belief in the unreal is more fun then reality, and I agree to some extent (imagine living in harry potter) but reality is just too damn amazing, seeing as we are both athiests and believe that we were not
@sillysillyface created by some "higher being." This is getting WAAAAAY too long, so I'll just finish by saying I love life/reality the way it is, and I'ld like to believe it is I that can make this "reality" a better place to live in rather than some santa or some god.
Oh and I got your email. Thanks for that, you raised some pretty good points that need proper attending to and I will eventually get to that. I am really busy ATM so you will get a decent reply within the next 5 days. :)
As an athesist, I am so sick of other atheists imposing their own views on other people. Religious people are happier than non-religious people. I have seen so many examples myself, and suicide statisics support that. To me, what is most important is to be as happy, and make as many people happy as possible in the short time we have. Dear athesist, yes, shit does happen because of religious people, but a lot of obscure killings have absolutely nothing to do with religion.
@sillysillyface I'm just curious, but do you use "As an atheist" as a get-out-of-jail-free card, so that the narrow-minded thing you're about to follow it up with somehow seems less narrow-minded? Because I'll let you in on a secret: it doesn't work.
@v1de0gamr I fail to see how having a perspective on things that differs from yours, makes me narrow minded. I state that I am an atheist, just to show that I am offended by the arrogance that 'our kind' displays, in the hope that religious people aren't lead to believe that all atheists are haters, and that some of us can see both sides of the fence.
@sillysillyface We're not "imposing" simply challenging people's beliefs, unlike what most religions do, "imposing" on their own children through indoctrination without questioning.
Yeah, and I've seen so many examples MYSELF of athiests living fulfilled, balanced and happy lives too. WHAT suicide statistics? Where's this evidence that supports that? I bet you haven't looked at different countries other than your own, where religion reigns.
@sillysillyface People think they're happy with their religion, but that is because they've never known anything else or how to think for themselves. They are often closed minded and intolerant of other religions and opinions. And this causes conflict, which you can research yourself. Read the God Delusion, it's a great book.
To put it simply, you are trying to save a world that you believe is doomed. Sounds stupid right? Wrong. In a paradigm where there is no future, stupidity and intelligence are equally pointless.
@OpyPSL Atheist do not believe anything is doomed. That is what theists believe. We know earth will one day seize to exist, however while we are on this planet it would be best to live accordingly to correct believes not false ones. Thus hopefully when an asteroid is coming our way, we can safely avoid it.
@MaterialBoyx3 Lets go over this again. "We know the earth will one day cease to exist." So you're saying that the earth will be inevitably destroyed. Fits definition #1.
@OpyPSL Well it is probable, however not necessarily inevitable. Nothing is 100% and for me to claim so would be a fallacy. We can take steps that may help avoid this issue. The point that I am trying to get across is that 'doomed' would not have been the best word to have used, because it implies absolute probability.
Do none of you athiests understand that if there is no God, then there is no future. Your life, the human race, earth, and the universe itself will be gone one day. Scientific fact, right? At least according to athiests. So you are trying to convert those of a religion that, in your belief is not helping the world, to a paradigm that YOU think is better for the world, even though the world is doomed through mother nature anyway.
@OpyPSL "Do none of you athiests understand that if there is no God, then there is no future." How is disproving the existence of a god disproving the existence of time?
"the universe itself will be gone one day. Scientific fact, right? At least according to athiests." No, this according to physicists, some which believe in god by the way.
"YOU think is better for the world" Is this suppose to be an actually critique of the thought itself?
I find it interesting that atheism is termed as 'correct belief' considering that yes, we cannot necessarily PROVE that God exists, but you cannot prove that God doesn't exist either.
@nogogma ; That all depends on the condition of my mind when I am at that point in life. That's why I'll have everything on tape or a DVD so as to set the record straight so there is no doubts for those I leave behind.
I like your videos but this time you are wrong. You just made atheism into a religion. You are preaching "truth" as if you have the exculave access to it. No one has the abosolute truth.
Then how can the atheists delude themselve and believe that hydrogen and oxygen, electrons and protons, should first produce themselves, then be the source for all other beings, and finally decree the laws that regulate themselves and the rest of the material world?
I think Atheism isn't something that can be proselytized. You have to figure it out for yourself. I only talk about it when people ask. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't fight the kind of ignorance that some religious people have.
you speak about the constant concern for a believers fate, and stress and anxiety caused by it. as a believer in Christ, i know where I'm going, and what i've been saved from. i don't have to worry ;)
Regardles of any theist / atheist / anti-theist specifics (which will, I'm sure, be debated, ignored & ad-hom'd in responses for an age - lol), one need go no further than:
To "...care about people suffering in THIS life..." is just reason enough.
Keep "witnessing" dude - we need more like you on all sides of these debates.
Perhaps, if we do, the perpetual 'war' between ideologies can finally cease in favour of true, open dialogue between all.
umm im catholic and im never forceing my religion onto people. i say follow what ever u want. so dont say our beliefs are incorrect or we foece you to convert you jackass.
This reminds me why I'm not an atheist. The absurdity of the statement: "I believe that God does not exist" should be evident to anyone capable of acknowledging the absurdity of the statement: "I believe that God exists." higher power watching over it.

What is the worst think that can happen to a non believer?
if the response is the unknown , then are all equal.
if response is believe, than the worst think is already happening = fear.
as the uncertainty is present better to live without fear.
if believe is to strong, fear is to big to be rationally handled, and no furhter discussion is needed.

UGodLuvs 5 months ago
Am I a believer in God, absolutely. I believe because of personal experiences, and maybe you have not had any of those experiences, so YOU do not have a reason to believe this. That's fine, I respect your beliefs. My husband was a die hard, antagonistic atheist for the first 3 years or so that we were together. Nothing I said or did swayed him in ANY way, I wouldn't expect it to...after all any changes that come in a person in regards to belief in God come from God, NOT from me or believers.
UGodLuvs 5 months ago
@UGodLuvs Care to explain what experiences you're talking about?
axel5735 5 months ago
@axel5735 Absolutely. There are countless experiences I have had that prove to me that God exists (which I don't have room to write them all but you are more than welcome to e-mail me if you would like to have a discussion about them krystalelder85@yahoo.com) . The largest one (which also happens to be how my husband is now a believer) was a shared experience for the both of us that happened over a period of about 6 months or so. When my husband and I first started dating he was an atheist

door frame from top to bottom in the middle of the night.
UGodLuvs 5 months ago
The "energy" looked like ripples you see on a hot summer day coming up off of the ground but in the shape of a person...or being. He said he just stood there and watched it for about 3 or 4 minutes (frozen in fear) before it started moving toward him. When it reached him he said it was really cold. Again, he was an atheist and the first thing he thought to do was tell it to get out of his house in the name of Jesus Christ.
UGodLuvs 5 months ago
Then, a few weeks later we were doing a Bible study with a friend of ours (after all the craziness in the house he became a little more interested in Christianity lol) While we were doing the study we started to hear EXTREMELY loud whistling coming from the living room. At first we thought it was the tv or something but then we started hearing the commercials changing in the back ground. It sounded like an old "workers" tune and it was super, super creepy.
UGodLuvs 5 months ago

UGodLuvs 5 months ago
@UGodLuvs Sounds more like a ghost to me, maybe even schizophrenia. I highly doubt your husband was an Atheist if the first thing he decided to do after he realized strange things were going on was to have the god he doesn't think exists wish it away. If you think loud whistling is proof of a battle between good and evil in your house I'd recommend seeing a psychologist.
axel5735 5 months ago
@axel5735 Yes, it does sound like "ghosts" but I don't believe in "ghosts" as what many other people believe them to be. The Bible says a person that dies and goes to heaven won't want to come back here and a person who dies and goes to hell isn't allowed to come back here. So, now what could these apparitions be then? We know that both angels and demons are allowed here. So, how would you explain the fact that nothing like this ever happened in his house until I moved in? Everyone saw things.
UGodLuvs 5 months ago
@UGodLuvs There could be many possible explanations that don't involve the supernatural. If you want to blame it on angels and demons fighting in your house then I'd first advise you to look into other explanations before you equate it to your religion. Even the testimonies of seeing Heaven and Hell after death leave me unmoved because the person is 99.9% of the time the person is a Christian or doesn't realize how the brain works when it lacks oxygen.
axel5735 5 months ago
@axel5735 What other explanations? I'm sorry man, but either you beleive nothing created energy and the energy happened to explode and create matter and electromagnatism aswell as gravity, or something beyond physical matter broke the cycle of "what came before that..." and created a well defined universe and reality governed by mathematical principals and laws. What exactly are you getting at? Something broke the physical laws and dynamics or else nothing would still exist.
MagnusCattus 4 months ago
@MagnusCattus What are YOU talking about? This conversation is about her hearing whistling noises and claiming that it's proof of a battle between angels and demons in her house. Please read before jumping to conclusions.

ok well I wasn't listening, I don't have all day to read comments, so forgive me if I assumed you were talking about something else. I thought you were talking about the origin of life. If you weren't fair enough, but my statement about it still stands
MagnusCattus 4 months ago
@axel5735 ok ya my mistake, i'm big enought to admit that.
Firstly angels and demons are not fighting in her house. If it is anything it is simply demons having a bit of fun with her, I have come to realise they must take great pleasure in seeing humans come up with such idiotic explantions.
MagnusCattus 4 months ago
You said, "We consider it inherently undesirable to go through life believing something that is false." Unfortunately, you have no way to knowing that what you believe is true...as in hard evidence...by "you" I mean every single person standing and living on this Earth. Granted, I graduated from college (a secular college) about 6 months ago, and maybe times have already changed...but when I took Biology and geology only about 9 months ago it was called "The theory of evolution."

But since there's zero chance of you changing their beliefs, who's time is actually being wasted?
druuzil 8 months ago
@druuzil He's not trying to change anyone's beliefs love. He's stateing a fact and opinion. No where in his video has he said 'You are wasting your time'. Think and listen before you start anything.

More direct, quotable evidence.

I don't give any value to something where you can just be hold what the "truth" is, the truth of something means nothing if you havent worked hard to figure it out yourself.
nicolebaresi 10 months ago
[continued]...and what I mean by that is, there are people that just sit down and are like "Well, why wouldn't you beleive in God? You die and it turns out that God wasn't real? Then what does it matter? You lose nothing, if it turns out he was, then you survived ETERNAL DAMNATION." I passionately HATE that type of argument, why does such a person even exist, what purpose is their to life at all if you don't question your existence, if you dont search for answers yourself.
nicolebaresi 10 months ago
Religion has only ever attracted people largely because of the fear of the unknown, which is fine really, if people get comfort from that then I've no issues with that, but Religion has no place in the world outside of that, it has no place in schools, no place in politics, no place in medicine or anything even remotely important.

nicolebaresi 10 months ago
@nicolebaresi I dont want to argue about religion. But if you look at the two highest rated comments on this video, they insult anyone with a religion. It seems that in this video, s/he just example really random sects, but neglects to remember that Christianity is centered around moral values, and I just find it hard to believe that you atheists all take instruction from a homosexual hermaphrodite who rides off of every bad thing she can find. S/he is truly a product of our time.
AlbusPercyDumbledore 10 months ago
@AlbusPercyDumbledore Oh is Christianity centred around moral values? Going from the way you've acted here, your seemingly not a very good Christian.
And so what aobut the highest rated comments? So because some people say some bad things directed at religious people, you instead decide to take it out on the author of the videos, who frankly makes good commentary in them in the 2 or so videos of hers I've actually seen.
I find that pretty pathetic.
nicolebaresi 10 months ago
@nicolebaresi There is no good commentary in this. All I got from this is that she says all religion is a lie. I think that in the 21st Century the author should abide by human rights in that everyone has a freedom of religion. What sickens me is that this thing runs around trying to strip people of faith, and turn them into believing nothing. There is a reason that there is a massive influx of atheism in Western Society, as opposed to the East. Bells and whistles corrupt.
AlbusPercyDumbledore 10 months ago
@AlbusPercyDumbledore Mm, thats sounds very similar.
Almost the way Religion likes to arrogantly say how they know everything about the way the world works, even in the face of evident against, and no evidence for (whatsoever).
Ironic to see a Religious person accuse someone of narrowmindness heh.
And yea, there is a reason for it, its called the end of commnism which oppessed religion, whereas in Western Europe (where I'm from) people are less "scared", so Religion loses its main attraction.
nicolebaresi 10 months ago
@nicolebaresi Hello again. I do believe in a God and I respect your point of view, and thank you for the interesting arguments, its just that this person really riles me because this videos creator is just so up itself. I really do not think that this person is as very good representative of your atheism, and I do believe that it should respect other peoples beliefs, rather than denounce them as "wrong" because I would never say that to an atheist because I respect the sanctity of their mind.
AlbusPercyDumbledore 10 months ago
@AlbusPercyDumbledore Well, look at it from our side, Atheists are guility of it too, but it's largely been a Religious thing to ram Religion down the throats of other people, trying to force their views onto others, frankly thats what turned me away from it.
Listen I really don't have a problem with someone who believes in God because they believe in him, my main gripe is that people believe in God because its a "safe" thing to do...[continued]
nicolebaresi 10 months ago
@nicolebaresi I have to agree albus here. This thing in the video seems to believe that anyone with a religion is under a false premise and talks down to them as such but this is not true. Look at Albert Einstein, one of the smartest people to ever walk the face of Gods earth. He always stated that all his theories further proved the existance of God not denounce it, and I can tell you now, that Einstein could crush this creatures closed minded views with one swoop. God have mercy on your souls!
Kaecirr 10 months ago
@Kaecirr Even whether Religion is true or not is really a secondary issue, I personally don't really care if someone believes in God, they are welcome to do it if its their choice, its the mindless people who are forced into religion (mostly by their parents) who cant think for themselves and the people who are trying to turn Religion into something more important than it is, Christians are trying to turn America into Islam 12th century.
nicolebaresi 10 months ago
@Kaecirr And if you don't know what I mean by that, I'll explain.
From around the 9th century to around the 12th century, Baghdad (Iraq) was pretty much the centre of the world "intellectually", its where most of the discovers were made (its why alot of stars have arabic names, because they were discovered during this time) but during the 12th century a new philosphy rose up which basically was in its simplest form "science is evil", and Islam scientiically haven't recovered in 900 years.
nicolebaresi 10 months ago
@nicolebaresi Thanks for accepting and respecting that other people have their own views and beliefs. I do not wish to get into a theological debate. What upsets me is that the person in this video is acting completely naive and should learn that others have the right to express and believe in whatever they wish to. I wouldn't mind so much if she didn't just outright say thal all religions are wrong and instead presented her view respectfully but this isn't the case.
Kaecirr 10 months ago
@Kaecirr Well, I'm not gonna really get into an argument about whether its real or not, I personalyl don't believe in God at all.
The one thing that really gets on my nerves is the fact that Religious people just ignore the questions, how can you live your life without asking them, "Does God exist?" and the many others. I also have a deep disliking for the idea of believing in God cause its safe, "If he exists great, if not what does it matter?" thats the worst thing that someone can believe in.

MacDonaldPCLife 11 months ago
Very interesting! However, every single point is based upon the assumption "if".
If there is not God; if there is no hell. That assumption is just that - an assumption that cannot be proven. To prove there is not God we'd have to travel everywhere - including outside of time and space. Hey, we haven't even seen all there is on earth yet. You never distinguished between faith in God as opposed to man-made religion. What about the hospitals & colleges? Most all started by Christians! hmmm

Oh and I got your email. Thanks for that, you raised some pretty good points that need proper attending to and I will eventually get to that. I am really busy ATM so you will get a decent reply within the next 5 days. :)

@sillysillyface And the fact that we even GET to be alive, considering our complexity and chance, is simply awesome.

As an athesist, I am so sick of other atheists imposing their own views on other people. Religious people are happier than non-religious people. I have seen so many examples myself, and suicide statisics support that. To me, what is most important is to be as happy, and make as many people happy as possible in the short time we have. Dear athesist, yes, shit does happen because of religious people, but a lot of obscure killings have absolutely nothing to do with religion.
sillysillyface 1 year ago
@sillysillyface I'm just curious, but do you use "As an atheist" as a get-out-of-jail-free card, so that the narrow-minded thing you're about to follow it up with somehow seems less narrow-minded? Because I'll let you in on a secret: it doesn't work.
v1de0gamr 1 year ago
@v1de0gamr I fail to see how having a perspective on things that differs from yours, makes me narrow minded. I state that I am an atheist, just to show that I am offended by the arrogance that 'our kind' displays, in the hope that religious people aren't lead to believe that all atheists are haters, and that some of us can see both sides of the fence.
sillysillyface 1 year ago
@sillysillyface We're not "imposing" simply challenging people's beliefs, unlike what most religions do, "imposing" on their own children through indoctrination without questioning.
Yeah, and I've seen so many examples MYSELF of athiests living fulfilled, balanced and happy lives too. WHAT suicide statistics? Where's this evidence that supports that? I bet you haven't looked at different countries other than your own, where religion reigns.
MuseToYourEars 1 year ago
@sillysillyface People think they're happy with their religion, but that is because they've never known anything else or how to think for themselves. They are often closed minded and intolerant of other religions and opinions. And this causes conflict, which you can research yourself. Read the God Delusion, it's a great book.

To put it simply, you are trying to save a world that you believe is doomed. Sounds stupid right? Wrong. In a paradigm where there is no future, stupidity and intelligence are equally pointless.
OpyPSL 1 year ago
@OpyPSL Atheist do not believe anything is doomed. That is what theists believe. We know earth will one day seize to exist, however while we are on this planet it would be best to live accordingly to correct believes not false ones. Thus hopefully when an asteroid is coming our way, we can safely avoid it.
MaterialBoyx3 1 year ago
@MaterialBoyx3 "We know earth will one day seize to exist." " Atheist do not believe anything is doomed." Do you know the definition of doomed??
OpyPSL 1 year ago
@OpyPSL 1. Inevitable destruction or ruin.
2. Fate, especially a tragic or ruinous one.
3. A decision or judgment, especially an official condemnation to a severe penalty.
4. Judgment Day.
Non of these descriptions fit atheist believe and/or disbelieves. We know something is likely to happen, however not destined.
MaterialBoyx3 1 year ago
@MaterialBoyx3 Lets go over this again. "We know the earth will one day cease to exist." So you're saying that the earth will be inevitably destroyed. Fits definition #1.
OpyPSL 1 year ago
@OpyPSL Well it is probable, however not necessarily inevitable. Nothing is 100% and for me to claim so would be a fallacy. We can take steps that may help avoid this issue. The point that I am trying to get across is that 'doomed' would not have been the best word to have used, because it implies absolute probability.
MaterialBoyx3 1 year ago
@MaterialBoyx3 You are right. We can't speak in absolutes. We need to have a lil faith.

OpyPSL 1 year ago
@OpyPSL "Do none of you athiests understand that if there is no God, then there is no future." How is disproving the existence of a god disproving the existence of time?
"the universe itself will be gone one day. Scientific fact, right? At least according to athiests." No, this according to physicists, some which believe in god by the way.
"YOU think is better for the world" Is this suppose to be an actually critique of the thought itself?

I find it interesting that atheism is termed as 'correct belief' considering that yes, we cannot necessarily PROVE that God exists, but you cannot prove that God doesn't exist either.
5shiningstars5 1 year ago
@5shiningstars5 what? the fact you can't prove he exists is proof that he doesn't exist.

You expect us to believe that just because we cannot disprove something we should take it seriously?
Ours is based on reason and evidence, whereas yours is based on what? Some 2000 year old book?

1tabligh 1 year ago
I think Atheism isn't something that can be proselytized. You have to figure it out for yourself. I only talk about it when people ask. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't fight the kind of ignorance that some religious people have.

you are unfortunately confusing Abrahamic faiths which are based in scripture and "revealed truth." Many other "religions" are science affirming.

you speak about the constant concern for a believers fate, and stress and anxiety caused by it. as a believer in Christ, i know where I'm going, and what i've been saved from. i don't have to worry ;)

Extremely well thought out and presented.
