  • ಠ_ಠ Why can't my hand do this?

  • all u do is let the paint dry on your pallet so it doesnt come out like a regular brush smug

  • Great vid, very helpful. That's a very straight forward way to paint night clouds. Congrats.

  • good acrilic art!

  • Wow, that was very inspiring. I recently started a picture of an alien kid in space and I messed it up chucking on too much blinking burnt sienna because I seem to remember that burnt sienna is meant to be cool and useful but actually it just looks like Mr Hanky has come early. I was totally at as loss for what to do, so thank you!

  • amazing <3

  • An update to my prior post. I have received the information to see this fantastic video. Evidently the artist was on holiday or delayed. Certainly worth the price and very detailed instructions and closeups to create this masterpiece. Thanks very much for sharing.

  • spettacolare

  • very nice! I am a beginner and was wondering a few things; first, do you keep the surface wet the whole time?so that you can blend the colors?and second what type of brush do you use for the blending?

    beautiful work!

    cheers from El Salvador

  • Evidently Gagnon has retired or stopped giving lessons but his web site is still there. I tried to order one of his lessons as a trial before signing up for a course but even though all of the payment details went through, no lesson after several days. My card has not been charged and I've sent a couple of emails with no response. I hope that he is ok and has just lost interest.

  • Omg thats 1 of the most beautiful pics I've seen wish I cud do that

  • Really good! helped out!

  • That was very nice indeed,,I'm venturing into acrylic painting this week, I do only oil painting,,wet on wet which is my preference,,I love how one is able to blend and soften with that method.

Nothing ventured nothing gained so acrylics here I come,,you are certainly a talented artist,,thanks for posting.

  • Tim... what kind of paint do you use? Your pallets shows a thick blob of paint but it doesn't look like acrylic at all. Do you mainly use the dry brush technique?

  • this is the 1st video that i observe, and after that i made a lots of acrylic painting................thanks a lot

  • Why not show the whole thing in the end...

  • absolutely GORGEOUS wow

  • Sorry but 2:54 suck !!!

  • actually to all who dunno and asking abt d powdery effect of d colours....... guys he have used NO WATER..!!!! his brush z dry.... n colours r also not really so wet.... try doing dis.... :)

  • What kind of brush? I've tried many and it seems like none of them are giving that "powder" effect

  • I like The deep Brush Strokes

  • did you wait for the paint to dry at 0:33? beautiful pic btw :)

  • love it

  • Beautiful. Thank you.

  • thanks! i paint myself but i cant seemm to get the colors right this helped alot!

  • Hey man, I really like your paintings, I'm just wondering do you work from pictures or from real life observation or just from your head? thanks.

  • Beautiful!!!

  • beutiful

  • no offense but i thought the websites name said tim gags on...

  • I've read a few comments concerning using water, I would say you first of all should not mix your acrylic with water, but do wet the brush and perhaps make your canvas slightly wet, but only slightly to make it moist.

  • WOW..!! <3

  • this absolutly beautiful i have acrylic paints but find it quite difficult! :D

  • sup with your pallet man? its totally like mine.....

  • EXCELLENT

  • enjfkwncwe i wish we didn't have to pay for the lessons.

  • 1:45 That's not fair, you skipped showing the part where you actually bring life to the cloud!

    Beautiful job, though

  • @kiikat he prob did that so you'd buy the lesson lol.. but for 20$ :(

  • I have recently decided I would like to learn to paint. I find your demonstrations to be both educational and entertaining. It is awe-inspiring to watch you work and complete such beautiful and realistically amazing images.

  • When I paint with acrylics they always dry up way too fast - so fast that I don't have time to blend the colors together. Why won't his colors dry up so fast? He blends them very slowly and it looks absolutely beautiful.. PLEASE help me!!

  • @honeymilkyhoney I'm learning to paint and I have the same problem as you. I tried mixing in a bit of water but then it gets too soft like watercolors. It is annoying that I can't find middle ground for it to look how I want.

  • @honeymilkyhoney try using acrylic retarder, it will really slow down drying time although if used too much it can change the colour of the paint so mix a bit in ur water and spray that over ur paints. U cud even apply a thin layer of medium on the painting before working. also never have the fan on!

  • Hmm, If i attempted something like that it would probably look like chickens ran into a paint palette and then over the canvas. you're amazing.

  • Man u r fast!

  • This is not painting, this is Magic !

  • @MrsLisaPotter what i don't understand/have alot of trouble with is how you paint objects at night. or in dark settings. do you know any that you recommend video that i should watch?

  • @princessidosayi No, sorry :)

  • Nice! watch my Painting Videos! thanks! Really nice work!

  • Where did yu buy that blending brush?o.o

  • This is fantastic and made it look so easy....but garanteed if i tryed it would look like smudges

  • luv it...

  • Love it!!

  • awesome...always wanted to try a moonlite night painting, but always afraid. Perhaps I will try now!

  • so big and fluffy, i just want to sleep on them

  • trippy

  • Great work man. Question.: How long do you wait on average for each layer to dry up before applying the next? Thanks.

  • wonderfulllllllllllllllllllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Whoah, very good technique you have aplicated there :) I like how you did the background and how you blur the intensities of white and light blue to form the cloud. I like it, the clouds look very detailed. Congratulations. Keep up the good work! :)

  • i love this)))

  • whats the difference between acrylic paint and oil paint , and please can anyone tell me which one is the best .

  • @MrJotunheim

Acrylic paint is water based. Oil paint is, of course, oil based. Oil paint takes much longer time to dry than acrylics do. You need to use both to see which suits your style best.

  • @Lucindanne3 thanks a lot , in fact i am learning oil painting by myself and it is really difficult and giving me a hard time , i have so far achieved to paintings but i am not satisfied. thank you for the advice.

    Martine (from France)

  • hey man this is so beautiful to me I am new to canvas acrylic panting!! any tips for me?? do i water the canvas down 1st or like brushes paints???

  • LOVE this! so gorgeous! you're seriously my favorite artist! you're a huge inspiration! :D

  • hi, i love it, and can i know who sang this song, thanks

  • What is the colour use in this paint?

  • geeeeeeeessssssssssss thats good lol

  • technically it's really good, but the lighting is wrong. Moon is a distant object, it cannot shine in front of clouds. If you can see it inside the painting only clouds silhouette should be lit.

  • right but its just a painting. if you want exact lighting then just take a photo

  • @epsilorn You are technically correct about the lighting. However, it is "artist choice". You can make the moon become luminous like its light actually eminates from the canvas by putting a translucent halo around it. Also a very slightly warm tone at the very edges of the moon. The last thing is to keep the light on the clouds at least 2 value steps lower than the moon itself. Above all is soft edges on everything. Good demo though. Keep it up.

  • @bierstadt77

Anything is possible when you paint.

  • @epsilorn I was thinking the same. Or at least he should have left the moon out of the canvas and leave its presence in the light itself.

  • omg! you made this tutorial easy to do.. i thought acrylics for me , was kinda impossible to make details and wonderful drawings. but after ur vid , it makes me wanna start painting now.. xD thank you!!
