The Air Defense Control Room scene is pure Hollywood base more on RAF Fighter Command newsreels than what the Army really had. By late 1940 the Army had some control rooms set up and operational with a few radars, the U.S. Forest Service fire towers where being tested as observers as seen in the film but there was no way the air force could intercept and shoot down a enemy bomber at night. The P-40s are from the 20th PG at March Field CA and are the first planes to have permanent camouflage.

Hello 4MaryAnna. I have many biographies on William Holden and know his friends called him Bill. I like to call him Will, as I've mentioned earlier.

here in germany you can only buy the DVDs of Holden's movies in the 50s and these are also the only movies they ever show on TV
