A friend of mine had a few of his friends from London visit here to the States, and I struck a convo with one of them. As we were all drunk as Hell and in a loud bar, I couldn't understand everything he said but one thing was his girl back home was a "bunson". I only nodded and laughed. Any clues?
Sorry, g4rdenspoon..I now realise you were just "taking the piss" and I deserve it! I was born at Kings Cross - does that make me a Cockney? Is it within the sound of the Bow Bells?
very educational. We don't have anything like this in American English, and without a guide, it would be impossible to follow. Context doesn't provide much help in many cases, which I suppose was the original idea, right? If you didn't want the 'coppers' to know what you were talking about, yeah? very cool.
I believe there was one you might've missed known as "peaches and pears" referring to a woman in some way...Could you please explain that slang term?-Mikey
