Just to make a quick counterpoint: Assumptions are not all bad. They get in the way sometimes, but more often than not, they are actually indispensable in ordinary everyday life. There is always (and for a good reason) less information available than would be required to operate on without any use of knowledge based on experience aka assumptions.

I wasted my twenties being a faux-pro. I went through phases where I would diligently try the same thing every day for a full year and never get any better or learn anything.

I remember laughing at older guys who were burned out. That would never happen to me because no one wanted it more or worked harder. But work and desire isn't enough, you have to be able to find solutions.

Now I have no pride left and I sit and listen to the wisdom of guys half my age. The difference is now I succeed.

@psb1964 When terran turtles up, they usually go for a lot of tanks. This makes their army slow and gives zerg a good possibillity to expand like hell and harras with mutas, or maybe even go for broodlords, since tanks are vulnerable to that. Keep in mind, that mobillity will be the Terran players weakness and exploit that. If they tourtle up with a lot of bio stuff, banelings could be good.

great episode, first time watching your stuff and I just want to say the backdashing you use in castlevania is exactly what my brothers and I use to do, plus in other games as well. We found one great thing and no matter how stupid it looks, we'd use it. It was fun as well so other than a non-existent pride we have, there's nothing to lose.

Good lecture, but I don't agree with that Sirlin guy that players can be divided into pros (people who master the game) and scrubs (people who will never master the game). That's just too black and white.

Just because you're not competitive doesn't mean you're a scrub. Likewise, not being a scrub doesn't necessarily make you competitive or a professional gamer. It's all shades of gray in the end.
