if i remember correctly theres this tiny bird stuck inside Gamma so im guessing at the end Gamma needed to die to free the bird otherwise he wouldve been trapped inside. makes sense but still kinda sucks.......he was my fav character to play as cuz of all his weapons n upgrades n shit.....

@88Gojira I love Gamma and I wanted to see more of him, but at least him dying gives the game some edge instead of it being all cheesey and him returning or something (and I understand theyre kids games and need to be childish, I just find a bit of maturity refreshing). And I think he wanted to die, remember his mission was to kill (or save) the E-series, which he was a part of. And this is just the song, not his actual death.

E-series 101 to 105 were fueled by animals, and that is why Gamma went rouge: to free the animals. in the end he freed the bird in Beta, who was the father of the bird Amy has. that is why the blue bird reacted to Gamma in the prison hold. Gamma has auto-recovery, but he turned it off when Beta shot him (some say he let himself get shot) so the bird inside him could be free, and the family would be reunited.

Gamma didn't die! He isn't a robot, he's a flicky.

It's clearly stated in the story:

-The robot changed his mind and freed Amy from the prison because he saw Birdie, his brother!

-He wanted to free his brothers: this obviously means the flickies, not the robots.

-He self-destructed on purpose at the end to escape from the metallic can he was sealed into.

If he was the robot and not the bird, he would just erase Eggman's data from his brothers instead of destroying them!

No. It is NOT clearly stated. Why do you think we have this ongoing debate in the first place and people mourning Gamma instead of thinking "oh its just a flicky in a suit, Happy ending!"

Up until now, we are led to believe that the animals are just batteries for the robots, not the controllers. I don't see why we now need to suddenly think they are more then batteries to the machines.

And Gamma didn't self-destruct. Beta fatally wounded him and he decided not to fix himself.

In the games, Omega hates Eggman for sealing him with Shadow in an abandoned base. It's nothing to do with Gamma. Heck, Omega's motivation of destroying Eggman and his bots is soley out of want of proving he is the strongest of the E- series robots. Not for the greater good like Gamma.

hmm well, Gamma got self concious after meeting with amy and the bird, so then he got in his mind to ''save'' his brothers (the animals trapped in them) and then after he destroys beta mkii and recieve his last attack before beta dies, gamma gets a picture of what he was before, and then he explodes, liberating the bird inside him, and that´s why amy finds the parents of the blue bird in the crashed egg carrier.
