It's basically saying (or at least what i think it's saying) is that even if you have fame and are wealthy, if you don't have someone to love you and to love back then you have nothing. If however you do have someone to love you and to love back, then you are the luckiest person in the world.

I was a poor black kid living in the inner-city projects back in the 70's when I first saw Funny Girl on tv. It was life changing for me. Had never seen or heard anyone like Ms. Sreisand before. I would save all the money I got and buy her albums. Would lock myself in my room and listen to her for hours. She brought something beautiful with her music and talent, to the ugly and miserable world I lived in back then. For that I am forever grateful.

Now everything is so wrapped up that when one major country has problems, everyone gets dragged down with it. Information is freer, and with it, a lot more crap.
