Hello .. I am an owner of a 4 years old male african grey named jack
Ive been training jack ever since i got him 2 and a half years ago
He is amazing at everything except for one thing !!
Jack hates water !! Ive been trying to get him to like water but he wont get near it no matter what ... I tried to put a bowl inside his cage and fill it with water (1-2cm)
He didnt get near it and showed no interest i put in the bowl some of his favourite toys he would pick up the toys but wont touch the
@MrJeiel1 the idea is not that you let them starve. the idea is that when they do tricks they get a treat as a reward for it. but the food they have for breakfast lunch and dinner is just normal food. they arent being starved, use your goddamn brain next time.
Obviously she feeds her bird when she isnt training it to talk. Your comment just shows that you are very incompetant. Great work jamie. I used to have a rose breasted parrot like that who loved to whistle songs!
Hey I need Help , I just bought my african grey 2 days ago and when I go close to him He starts screaming ! and once I just let the cage open he flew and sat in a corner and I went near him but he screams and bites and fly far from me ! , Can anyone help me please ?
Okay, so how would I give my bird a treat? because people always say the breakfast lunch and dinner thing.. but my bird helps himself to food, like I make sure the food bowl is always full all the time, so he can eat when hes hungry, ( I have a Nanday conure) so how would I give him breakfast lunch and dinner? just give him a little bit of food at every meal? or what? and if I can't do that, what treats are good? do they sell treats? because fruit and veggies don't work on him, Thank You!!
@Kittenlove555 parrots and cockatoos have large powerful beaks and can bite your ears. They are also known for ripping out earrings so if you have piercings definetly not. Also the biggest worry is that i scared bird bites. fact. A bird on your shoulder, happy and relaxed. a loud noise or anything out of the ordinary and you beloved tame and gentle bird lunges at your face, attacking anything thats nearest, most risk of course being your eyes. personal choice but maybe more safe than sorry
@Kittenlove555 i don't believe its dangerous, i have a senegal and he sits on my shoulder all the time. even if their's a loud noise he doesn't lunge at me. guess it all depends on the parrot
love all your videos, they are so interesting and I have learned so much, mny thanks and I cant wait to receive the traing video I have ordered from you, from lesley new zealand
Your videos are great, do pet stores sell clickers? i've recently adopted a galah, i think he is in his junior years, will i still be able to train him?
i have a yellow naped amazon and he is 6 months and all he says HELLO and nothing else, I've tried to teach him other words but he keeps on saying Hello?
Hey, i was wonderin if u guyz can help me out i have a 7 month old afrcan grey and hes tryin to talk but he duznt say the word fully, for example for hello hell say ooooo. Please reply whn u hav the tyme
Should I keep my african grey hungry before training sessions? I wonder if she'll get really fat for learning more and more words. How often should I train her during the day?
It's good to work before your bird's normal meals like before you give it breakfast, before lunch and before it's dinner so it is more motivated. But if you don't want to do that, just keep it on a healthy diet (veggies, fruit and organic pellets) and give only treats (seeds, nuts) for training sessions.
Incredibly cute. Araluen (my galah) has learned to say 'Chicken' and your video is great, very helpful. I hope to encourange Araluen to speak a little more.
i love the 3 of ur parrots, especially the 1 that keeps interrupting you, but, senegal parrots, do they talk? and how? plz help me!!!!

Yep, normally Petco or Petsmart sell them for under $2. And you can train any bird, no matter the age.

talha6k 2 years ago
Depends on what it prefers. All my birds have different favorite treats so just put different kinds out and see what it likes best.
