There's a scene in one of their skits where they infiltrate and defeat a Japanese and Nazi meeting, and in the last scene they go out of character and Moe says, do you smell a pig? Do you smell a Nazi swine? and Curly says yes, I smell a pig, yes I smell a Nazi swine. It was pretty intense and you could tell they really meant it. Even as a kid I understood the anger and intensity in their voices. I didn't realize they were Jews and didn't even know what Nazis were until years later.
