This look easy but I'm trying and it keeps broken apart when I try to transfer it

This looks so EASY when you do it, but I'm worried about it stretching or tearing when transferring it to the plate by wrapping it around the roller. How thick should the dough be for a 9" plate? How much butter, flour, sugar, and water do you need?

You make it look so easy, when pie dough is one of the most difficult things to make! I just mix the ingredients in a bowl and pat it into the plate. I don't bother with the rolling pin, or worse trying to wrap the dough around the roller and transfer it. I totally take the shortcut. Some people have told me that they didn't care for my pie crusts, but I'd still rather do it my way than risk having disastrous results, or use a purchased crust. Pre-made dough is nasty!
