Er...no it won't drive me nuts. I know the details and there is plenty more stuff not shown so when it comes down to analysis what I've done will come out the same as Meier's even if he made more effort on his films. I literally turned up, set up quickly without any frills and got on with it. If I actually "spent time" on doing them perfectly I'd have to find new locations because the ones I used were only good enough to cover the "effects" of Meier's films.
Very nice but no cigar. First, where'd the farmhouse go? Meier opens with the farmhouse (no tree now) then a real full-sized tree in front of it. No "forced perspective" there! Notice Meier's UFO move from a dead stop, off to the left, angle up and remain almost perfectly still for a moment. He must've pulled another string with his teeth! Phil makes great models and duplicates an EFFECT. His photos and films won't pass the same, rigorous tests that Meier's did. It'll drive him nuts, like Korff.
@8Michael12 Yep. Good comment. No farmhouse. Move from dead stop, angle up. That's correct. The reason is because in this film I only attached the pull line to the top of the model. it jerks as a result so you don't get the sudden speed changes we see in meier's film. I've done it again attaching to the side now and it looks almost identical to meier's. I even got the speed changes the same and the bobbing. My stuff will pass the same tests I think. Not this film here but the new one.
