I still have dreams of the sounds and feel of my 78 super beetle. I miss it so much! I learned stick on it, and it was the only car that made me feel like I was really driving it.
@AnimaliaHolocaust: I've never been stopped for them. I'm not really sure how they look lit, to be honest. This video is as good a look at them with the car running as I've ever gotten; no one drives the car but me, so I've never had the occasion to walk around and look while someone's standing on the pedal. The guy I bought the car from said they give a cool purplish glow.
@oljos78 I worry about it- the police around here look for excuses to pull people over.. But maybe I'll risk it. :P I'm buying a 68 bug soon- it could use a bit of work cosmetically, but mechanically, it ought to be sound.
Great video! The 68's have always been under appreciated; being the first of the "late Models".
Their actually the best of both worlds IMHO. Old world charm, added safety features and the last of the swing axles.
