Obviously I am a proud Life Member of the NRA, hence my screen name. I want to Thank You Greg for doing this segment and encouraging all gun owners to be involved with a shooting organization that protects our 2nd Amendment Rights to Keep and Bear Arms. Your Votes in this coming election are crucial to keeping our Freedoms.
The NRA has let its supporters down recently. I recommend everyone check out Gun Owners of America instead. I would rather support GOA than NRA at the present time.
@LibertyMike1 I am a fan of all Gun Groups and Organizations. Can you please explain your statement as to how the NRA has let you or any gun owner down?
I am just curious as to what provoked a statement like that from you.
@LiferNRA First they originally talked about supporting Harry Reid who was a top proponent of Sotomayor and Kagan, then they supported that bill that went through Congress not too long ago that made groups such as Campaign for Liberty and GOA turn over records of their membership to the government.
@LibertyMike1 I don't wish to take over this comment thread so this will be my final reply on this subject. If you can please add a web address pointing to the facts that you are referring to. I would like to read this for myself.
My apologies to Hickok45 for taking this much of your comment area. I will not respond again, on this subject.
@LiferNRA Research the NRA and the Disclose Act of 2010. Also research the NRA and Harry Reid. They aren't going to endorse him, but they considered it at first. My opinion is the only reason they decided not to endorse Reid is due to the fact they were recieving a lot of pressure from their members. Ill send you a private message in regards to the Disclose act.
As with everything, race seems to become an issue. I am a second ammendment supporter. Being college educated and black that may shock a few.There are alot of groups who SAY they are not bias in any way, however, those groups' politics SHOW otherwise.Sad, but true.Whether or not the NRA is one of those groups, I don't know.The July 4th was not intended for me either, while knowing the importantance of September 22nd.I love my country, I will die for every man. It would be nice to not be hated!
@11snakedoc11 , I think most of the notion that gun enthusiasts are uneducated or all white is just more stereotyping. The NRA is like most other organizations; they welcome anybody and everybody to the cause. The reasons for the make-up in any group are sometimes complex, I suppose. For example, I don't think there are signs at hockey matches advising minorities to stay away. Strange world we live in. :-)
@11snakedoc11 The NRA was formed in 1871 and was the first national organization to admit blacks. The NRA supports the rights of all law-abiding Americans to keep and bear arms.

@murleman , Excuse my frankness, but it appears your friend must have dropped out of school at around the kindergarten level. Fortunately, there's no law in this country (yet!) that requires people to join organizations. I guess the next step would be to require a certain number of minority members to attend hockey matches, whether they wanted to or not. :-)
I am Hispanic and a former member of NRA. I don't give the slightest sh*t for right wing politics but do ardently support 2d Amendment rights. Our Founding Fathers had the right idea about how to run a government and today's politicians from both sides of the aisle can use lessons from them.
@1400deadwood You might want to give the Libertarians a try. They are much better than the political authoritarians on the left or the religious nonsense you get on the so-called right.
@1400deadwood I'm Hispanic, too. Just wondering, why are you a *former* member? What made you want to leave? I'm not trying to be offensive, I sincerely want to know.
I was a member in the 1960s - as part of your membership back then you got a free subscription to a gun magazine. At that time I wanted to learn more about guns & rifles. Now I go to the library to get magazines & more info on weapons. I do not have any quarrel whatsoever with NRA.
@1400deadwood , It really IS too bad that most of the Second Amendment support seems to come from the right and far right politically. I'd love to see an even spread across the political spectrum. I'm never sure who's more scary, the far left or the far right! :-) Each extreme is preoccupied with controlling people, it seems.
Agree 100%. We as a rational society need to set aside our partisan differences and must adhere to the foundational principles that our Founders gave us. This will reduce the amount of social division that we see today. I recommend that people read Governor William Livingston's famous 1753 essay on the futility of political parties - I'll send you a PM on your channel with the link.
Regardless of your political leanings we can all say, GOD BLESS AMERICA!
@hickok45 I have nothing but respect for you, your videos, and your insights. However, your response on the political left and right is confused and nearly made me dry heave. Can you name ONE legitimate right winger that is anti-2nd amendment or demonstrates these 'scary' control tendencies? As long as I've been voting, it's been Democrats and RINOs that have been shitting on the Constitution, not the conservatives.
@1400deadwood ...Glad to hear that you don't give a sh*t for leftwing politics either. If you realize how important the 2nd amendment is I hope you reconsider and re-join the NRA
The NRA doesn't need my money nor my name on its membership roll.
As for the 2d Amendment, I have posted my defense of it on numerous web forums. I have a law degree, endorse some populist principles, and affirm many of the foundational ideals taught by our Founding Fathers.
@1400deadwood Adding to what you were saying, I'm "white" and don't care for either left or right. As far as I'm concerned, I'm a liberal. I hate government control and love freedom. So I suppose I'm a democrat then *rolls eyes*
By definition the founding fathers were liberals. Not the stereotyped treehugging hippies of today but rather the old definition of liberal i.e. one who supports individualism and freedom.
As far as conservatives being for freedom, well that is up for debate. After all wasn't it the conservative Republicans who supported the PATRIOT Act? I don't consider anyone who advocates unwarranted searches of people's homes pro-freedom.
@762BR Sorry for your confusion, but the liberals have always been big-government, and the founders were NEVER liberals by ANY measure. I didn't see real conservatives voting for the PATRIOT ACT, with a few exceptions I think were being reactionary in a time of crisis. I like the stalwart stance of Ron Paul on the issue, and it was Bush's RINO cronies who pushed the bill. The bigger offense is that it hasn't been repealed, it wasn't allowed to expire.
Furthermore, you shouldn't be surprised by the fact that their are pro gun liberals. I am pro drug legalization, pro gay marriage, pro choice, as well as pro gun. I don't subscribe to all the other stereotypical liberal beliefs such as Carbon emissions taxes and free welfare for everyone but as far as social issues are concerned I am liberal.
@762BR The fact you think there are "pro gun" liberals, is humorus. Liberals are the ones who have knee-capped the 2nd amendment at every turn. You better check the voting records of those who identify themselves as "liberal" and "conservative", and compare the votes on this issue before making your next comment. I'm glad you drink the faux science or dependency kool-aid, but to be pro-choice and pro-gay marriage are just as ridiculous and unconstitutional as the rest.
There are pro gun liberals. Trust me, I know several of them.
Secondly, please explain how being pro gay marriage is unconstitutional. Please point out to me where in the Constitution it gives the government the right to control what two consenting adults marry. If you think such restrictions are reasonable then YOU support big government. A government that can control the private relationship of two consenting adults is NOT small government by any means.
@762BR Pro-gay marriage is unconstitutional because the Constitution does not provide for special-class rights to minority groups. Demogogues, collectivists, and other statists do, to ransom loyalty votes. Marriage is a proreative institution between a man and a woman, gay marriage is a mockery for benefits. The Constitution nowhere gives power to the individual to hijack social barriers for the benefit of a minority and undermine foundational family institutions. Go have a civil union.
@762BR Sorry for omitting the "don't drink" on the last comment...Commenters like 1400deadwood segregate themselves as "hispanic" and do not identify themselves as American, and turn around and shit bricks when we demand immigration law be enforced. This is pure liberal mentality. Same with the pro-choice crowd, who demand choice, forgetting they could have chosen a condom, and revoke the very right to live for unborn children.
What deadwood's comment has to do with anything I don't know. He only pointed out his race not his immigration status. Whether or not he is legal neither of us know...
As far as abortion is concerned, at the time most legal abortions are completed, the fetus is nothing more than a clump of cells. It is nowhere close to a human being. However I am pro choice because I feel as long as the fetus isn't majorly developed, the mother should have the right to choose.
@762BR You can't get reliable info on fetal development from Planned Parenthood, an industry making money in the abortion industry. A clump of cells does not form a human, not does it have unique DNA, nor does it develop its own heartbeat and brainwaves in the first trimester. Therefore, a "fetus" is not a random clump of cells. What does development have to do with the right to live? You were in that "stage" once. Your life was once someone's "choice", relying on protection to even exist.
I know, you'll probably say "Well the mother had the right to choose to make the father wear a condom" but unfortunately in the real world things don't always go perfectly. It's the same reason abstinence only sex ed programs fail.
Of course you could force her, even if she has only been pregnant for one month, to continue with the pregnancy and have the child. Hopefully she'll be rich and can provide well. Chances are though she will be young, won't finish school and her child..
@762BR Abortion is the display of failure itself. When mature, responsible, and intelligent people have sex, they know the consequence and therefore prepare. Abortion is what happens when you have the opposite. When a mother and child enter a clinic, only one walks out alive.
will be forced to live life in poverty. This will increase the child's chances of turning to a life of crime as he grows older. Maybe he'll become one of those criminals packing assault weapons that the Brady Campaign likes to wave around when they push for the unconstitutional gun laws. Maybe he won't become a criminal. However his young parents will probably depend on food stamps and welfare assistance to raise him, thus burdening all of society.
@kimberHD45 Anyway, this isn't about abortion or gay marriage. This is about the existence of pro-gun liberals. You can continue to believe there are no pro choice, pro gay marriage, pro gun people in America. That still won't change reality. Is the stereotypical tree hugging, hippie liberal still anti-gun? Probably. However not all people fit stereotypes. Not all white people are rednecks, not all black people go to jail and not all liberals are treehugging gun grabbers.
@762BR A grasp of actual statistics is not present in your comment. You have excuses and ifs, and those are for children. Reality is a harsh dose of witnessing one of those convenience abortions you so arrogantly marginalize. It is easy to spot someone who has no clue. As for guns, I keep them for protection from those who think like you. Those who have no problem exterminating life because of condition and development.
@762BR Great list of busted stereotypes, you forgot one, not all people think. I was saying gun rights is not on the liberal platform. So, we're all proud of your "coming to Jesus" moment on the right to bear arms, but individual liberty goes hand-in-hand with individual responsibility, and pervades all aspects of life, never one without the other. Ergo, your comment seemed a bit contradictory.
@murleman Your question seems rather facetious and loaded with venom. No one should dignify this slur with an answer, but yes there are black men in the NRA. Quite a few military veterans enjoy participating in rifle competition matches.
@murleman, Unlike a lot of superficial people and organizations, the NRA is not preoccupied with race. It's been my life experience that people who are always talking about race seem to be uncomfortable not only with themselves, but also with people of other races. Anybody who supports the Second Amendment and wants to ensure its strength is more than welcome, as everybody with a brain already knows.
@hickok45 I'm obviously Filipino (if you've watched my videos) and I am a proud life member of the NRA. Do I support allot of the speakers, eh not so much. I'm NRA for myself and for gun rights. not for Palin to speak for me
@murleman In answer to your question of can a black man join the NRA. I would recommend a video on dealing with blacks gun ownership over the last century or so. It's put out by Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Organization and is on their website. The video's title is "no guns for negroes" and if you search this title in Google it should be first. Guns ownership cause polite society.
I'd recommend you do your own research and not trust the videos message, but it is thought provoking.
Hickok45 I wish you would have made it known you were going to be there earlier. I live in Fort Mill (20 minutes from charlotte), and would have came just to shake your hand and to say Hi. LOL. Great Review none the less.
@hickok45 Haha. I didn't catch that while watching over the video, if indeed you joked abut that at some point and aren't just joking. Either way, no I was serious, your reviews are excellent, and is what led to my purchase of my G27 (I love that gun), as well as, what finally got me to trade my first ever purchased G17 for a G19. For the record I was mad at myself from day 1 (just to big, don't need "all that gun"), but after watching multiple reviews finally traded it for my 19...
Wish I could have skipped work to go to the convention. I only live about 1.5hours from Charlotte. I didn't know Chuck Norris used guns, as he is the most deadly Weapon of Mass Destruction, using only his fists and fatal round-house kicks.
@seanxvw , Not much I lusted for at the show, but a Shiloh Sharps rifle in .45-70 with about a 26" barrel still haunts me. :-) I had one in 32" barrel for several years, but since I don't compete in that arena, it was wasted on me. That short one brought back the Sharps Rifle dreams.
Agreed, good sir. I'm a proud NRA member and have spent, oh...probably around $350.00 to sign up friends and family (and some people at a liberal-dominated forum, when I created a contest. And some guy from TX that I don't even know sent me $75.00 to sign three more people up!!!) who were gun-owners or supporters of the 2nd Amendment, but not NRA members last year, when I ran into some unexpected money.
You might've "instilled" some shooting skill into The Gunny, but the only thing you could have gotten from him is the colorful vocabulary Marines are also known for. In which case we're all doomed. Not many can out shoot a Marine. But nobody can out cuss one. lol.
@KiltPatrick , I'm sure he can "out cuss" me and out shoot me both! Except, ever since I shook his hand, I'm calling everybody I meet a "filthy maggot." :-) My students just don't understand what's going on!
Sounds like you had a hell of a time there! Seeing R Lee Ermy, Chuck Norris and Uncle Ted would have made my day for sure. Did you get to see Glenn Beck's speech? I'm TRYING to watch it now, but even as a paying "Insider Extreme" member, the video can't stream as fast as it has to play!! Anyone else have that problem?
Very enjoyable video thanks for giving us your take on the con. Perhaps I'll make it someday. I saw other videos on the Shot show and I always wondered how they could let so many people handle the guns... Now I know, thanks to you, that the firing pins are removed! I always look forward to a new Hickok45 video.
Chuck Norris, R. Lee Ermey, Ted Nugent, Rob Leatham, and Hickok45 WERE IN THE SAME FREAKING BUILDING!!!!! To my way of thinking, THAT should be the New World Order!!!!!
@tnoutdoors9 , Yeah, there were some plain clothes Homeland Security agents keeping an eye on all of us. :-) They really perked up when any two of us got within a few feet of each other.
The convention was here last year (in Phoenix) and missed because I was a best man in a wedding. I will never let my best friend live it down. His dad was mad as well
Nice, I have always wanted to attend a NRA convention. Did you make that bullet belt buckle you have on in this vid. I have been looking for one but haven't found one on the net. I 'd like to meet Gunny I bet he is fun person.
@thawkins426 , bought it about 25 years ago at a gun show. The guys name who made it was Joe Knuth, I think. I believe he was from Michigan or somewhere.
@CheapandCheaper , I took one apart and fondled it a bit. Nothing special that I can see, but time will tell. I wouldn't mind running one through its paces, but I hate to buy one just to do that. I don't see anything that different. The thing I wish Glock would change is the hump on the grip, and it's still there on the Gen 4 guns.
That is a beautiful dog, whats her name? You should put her in more videos! (I am assuming its a female based on my best educated guess from the features...)
nice golden - I have a rather big male 9yrs 115lb. I've never heard you talk about your's - is that a female (the smaller face looks like it) Nice looking dog
Dam I think I commented on the wrong Vid. Oh well I'll say it again Hickok. I would have waited in line to shake your hand Sir. For all that you do for the law abiding gun owners in this country. Celeberties are to over rated.
@garrett686 , I think a lot of people must just not recognize me in person. I can't believe how many people have PM'ed and said the same thing. I know that being 6'8" throws people off. Since I'm on camera by myself usually, it doesn't really sink in that I'm a big cuss.
I pissed myself when he yelled...

@1400deadwood ...Glad to hear that you don't give a sh*t for leftwing politics either. If you realize how important the 2nd amendment is I hope you reconsider and re-join the NRA
gilream 1 year ago
@gilream
The NRA doesn't need my money nor my name on its membership roll.
As for the 2d Amendment, I have posted my defense of it on numerous web forums. I have a law degree, endorse some populist principles, and affirm many of the foundational ideals taught by our Founding Fathers.
1400deadwood 1 year ago
@1400deadwood Adding to what you were saying, I'm "white" and don't care for either left or right. As far as I'm concerned, I'm a liberal. I hate government control and love freedom. So I suppose I'm a democrat then *rolls eyes*
CaribouLou45 1 year ago
@CaribouLou45 - don't quite understand your post Caribou but make sure Palin isn't hunting in your area.
;)
1400deadwood 1 year ago
@CaribouLou45 If you love freedom and you hate government control, you are not liberal, you are conservative.
kimberHD45 1 year ago
@kimberHD45
Not really.
762BR 1 year ago
@762BR Sorry for your confusion, but the liberals have always been big-government, and the founders were NEVER liberals by ANY measure. I didn't see real conservatives voting for the PATRIOT ACT, with a few exceptions I think were being reactionary in a time of crisis. I like the stalwart stance of Ron Paul on the issue, and it was Bush's RINO cronies who pushed the bill. The bigger offense is that it hasn't been repealed, it wasn't allowed to expire.
kimberHD45 1 year ago
@kimberHD45
762BR 1 year ago
@762BR The fact you think there are "pro gun" liberals, is humorus. Liberals are the ones who have knee-capped the 2nd amendment at every turn. You better check the voting records of those who identify themselves as "liberal" and "conservative", and compare the votes on this issue before making your next comment. I'm glad you drink the faux science or dependency kool-aid, but to be pro-choice and pro-gay marriage are just as ridiculous and unconstitutional as the rest.
kimberHD45 1 year ago
@kimberHD45
762BR 1 year ago
@762BR Pro-gay marriage is unconstitutional because the Constitution does not provide for special-class rights to minority groups. Demogogues, collectivists, and other statists do, to ransom loyalty votes. Marriage is a proreative institution between a man and a woman, gay marriage is a mockery for benefits. The Constitution nowhere gives power to the individual to hijack social barriers for the benefit of a minority and undermine foundational family institutions. Go have a civil union.
kimberHD45 1 year ago
@762BR Sorry for omitting the "don't drink" on the last comment...Commenters like 1400deadwood segregate themselves as "hispanic" and do not identify themselves as American, and turn around and shit bricks when we demand immigration law be enforced. This is pure liberal mentality. Same with the pro-choice crowd, who demand choice, forgetting they could have chosen a condom, and revoke the very right to live for unborn children.
kimberHD45 1 year ago
@kimberHD45
762BR 1 year ago
@762BR You can't get reliable info on fetal development from Planned Parenthood, an industry making money in the abortion industry. A clump of cells does not form a human, not does it have unique DNA, nor does it develop its own heartbeat and brainwaves in the first trimester. Therefore, a "fetus" is not a random clump of cells. What does development have to do with the right to live? You were in that "stage" once. Your life was once someone's "choice", relying on protection to even exist.
kimberHD45 1 year ago
@kimberHD45
762BR 1 year ago
@762BR Abortion is the display of failure itself. When mature, responsible, and intelligent people have sex, they know the consequence and therefore prepare. Abortion is what happens when you have the opposite. When a mother and child enter a clinic, only one walks out alive.
kimberHD45 1 year ago
@kimberHD45
will be forced to live life in poverty.
762BR 1 year ago
@kimberHD45 Anyway, this isn't about abortion or gay marriage. This is about the existence of pro-gun liberals. You can continue to believe there are no pro choice, pro gay marriage, pro gun people in America. That still won't change reality. Is the stereotypical tree hugging, hippie liberal still anti-gun? Probably. However not all people fit stereotypes. Not all white people are rednecks, not all black people go to jail and not all liberals are treehugging gun grabbers.
762BR 1 year ago
@762BR A grasp of actual statistics is not present in your comment. You have excuses and ifs, and those are for children. Reality is a harsh dose of witnessing one of those convenience abortions you so arrogantly marginalize. It is easy to spot someone who has no clue. As for guns, I keep them for protection from those who think like you. Those who have no problem exterminating life because of condition and development.
kimberHD45 1 year ago

Sixguns4fighting 1 year ago
@murleman, Unlike a lot of superficial people and organizations, the NRA is not preoccupied with race. It's been my life experience that people who are always talking about race seem to be uncomfortable not only with themselves, but also with people of other races. Anybody who supports the Second Amendment and wants to ensure its strength is more than welcome, as everybody with a brain already knows.

@hickok45 I'm obviously Filipino (if you've watched my videos) and I am a proud life member of the NRA. Do I support allot of the speakers, eh not so much. I'm NRA for myself and for gun rights. not for Palin to speak for me

kanalos123 1 year ago
@murleman In answer to your question of can a black man join the NRA. I would recommend a video on dealing with blacks gun ownership over the last century or so. It's put out by Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Organization and is on their website. The video's title is "no guns for negroes" and if you search this title in Google it should be first. Guns ownership cause polite society.
I'd recommend you do your own research and not trust the videos message, but it is thought provoking.

@CheapandCheaper , I took one apart and fondled it a bit. Nothing special that I can see, but time will tell. I wouldn't mind running one through its paces, but I hate to buy one just to do that.
