Your question about whether never an eurosceptic party has been elected in the UK is nonsense. UKIP became 2nd in the last EU elections. For the House of Commons it's very hard to elect new parties due to the complex voting system. And also the voters in the UK believed their Conservative politicians, pretending they were a Eurosceptic party. But they where deceived .
the EU is akin to a dictatorship, for example: the irish lisbon treaty vote, the irish voted NO to it the first time, and they forced us back to the ballot box when unhappy with our vote and our right, for a SECOND TIME,is this the workings of a democracy?where typically SIX FIGURE EARNERS,tell us never ending streams of immigration is a good thing?what good is more ppl to jobs ratio,or displacing natives, rising crime, and welfare fraud, race attacks, they wont have to live the consequences they create
Federasts and eurocrats make business exceedingly expensive. The European Union was created on good intentions... unfortunatly it has turned into a greedy force determined to water down populations. It is weak and desperatly wants to be an empire of some sorts. The E.U doesn't create peace... maybe between two countries yes, but between people and government? no. Your beloved E.U insists it's not a superstate yet has it's own flag, laws, army, police, currency and even (if failed) language... It is going down a very dangerous and dark path indeed.
gotcha... question 5, you claim the the UK is the oldest democracy on the planet... care to differ... there was a democracy called Greece a long time ago... and the first democractic constitution was actually in Poland.
@rarelibra Actually UK is the oldest (representative) democracy. While the first (direct) democracy in existence was the CITY STATE Athens and NOT Greece. And i cant recall Poland being democratic any sooner then post ww1 (Except if a NOBLE republic counts as a democracy, which it doesn't). So you should recheck your information.
@Teranex Sorry, but you are incorrect. You should recheck YOUR information. Iceland is the world's oldest continuous Democracy - their parliament, the Althing, the oldest one still in use (formed in 930 AD). The world's oldest democracy is Athens (around 40 BC). But also to consider is the League of Six Nations - the native Americans who had a voting rights agreement 800 years before European settlers showed up... and well before the UK existed (which is only a few hundred years).
@rarelibra Your information is inaccurate, while true. Athens is the worlds oldest DIRECT democracy, while UK is the worlds oldest REPRESENTATIVE democracy. While Iceland was not an independent nation, but was at all times a part of Denmark or Norway till 1940 and as such was a territory of a monarchy/constitutional monarchy with home rule.
@rarelibra "The modern parliament, Alþingi (English: Althing), was founded in 1845 as an advisory body to the Danish monarch. It was widely seen as a re-establishment of the assembly founded in 930 in the Commonwealth period and suspended in 1799."-On the Icelandic parliament.
"League of Six Nations"-Was a tribal democracy at best (Similar to a noble republic), to be more exact it was a sui generis democratic institution. But it certainly wasn't a representative democracy.

The answer to your question is - the people. None of the member states are dictatorships. They are all democracies, and if the people didnt like what was happening, they would vote for a government that would take them out of the EU.
@EuropeanUnionRules That would require people to agree with every policy of the anti-EU party. I prefer stronger conservatives stances on Europe and the Euro, but not on education, of which I prefer Labour's position. Being a part of the EU has problems that are not apparent to the mild-mannered janitor, who instead looks at how the parties would effect his employment and taxation. People might want labour, and they might want conservative, but that doesn't mean they want Europe.

How can they vote a Anti-EU government with The UKs Corrupt voting system ?
In any case The Government are voted in to take care of The Country on behalf of the people not to give it lock stock and barrel to any foreign power as that in fact is ilegal.
The EU is corrupt to the core just look at who is who in the EU some are convictec criminals!
@EuropeanUnionRules well u muppet how can u vote for a goverment that would take u out of it when u only have 1 goverment and both the left and right are taking u down the same path fucking monkey
@EuropeanUnionRules It is hardly possible for anti-EU parties to get a parliamentary majority. Not many parties are anti-EU. The Netherlands has only one, founded in 2005. So people didn't have a vote before, since all parties agreed. The same holds for England where Conservative, LibDem and Labour all agreed on EU plans.
@candiceevans1 Well, the people in an indirect way. The Commission is appointed by the Council which in turn is made up of the representatives of the member state governments. As each member state is a democracy, the people elect their governments. So as a result, the people ARE deciding the fate of Europe.
@EuropeanUnionRules As you said: in an indirect way. And I feel nothing in common with a Romanian or a Greek. Why should I admit that their politicians decide my fate ? I live in a small country, so obviously, we have less representatives in the Parliament. So as a result: the big countries have much more power. Europe is (or rather, was) a good thing, but they've gone much too far. The point of the EU was not a political one. Now it is. Why ? Don't tell me "to set peace", it's outdated.
@EuropeanUnionRules Under a common cause of peaceful co-existence and equality? Why is such a union so anathema to you? One race is no better or superior than another.
Because no one consulted the people on it's inception or on it's evolution, or when the did and got a resounding NO they ignored it. Disolve the EU, present the people with the ideas of union and how far it intends to grow and see if they agree. It's no use offering democracy now when the EU is nearly built.
but every race is diferent and we will never be the same that is a fact!my natural need and my right is to live with my nation and my race there is nothing wrong with that! im not saying that some race is less important but we must fight for existence of our own race. i dont want that white people be manority in land that we painted with our blood.
Quite honestly, the end of the EU and the end of the UN for that matter would probably mean the end of the Church of Multiculturalism in the West. People are just sick of this social experiment. Some are dreaming of a Soviet or a Yugoslav conclusion to this multiculti nightmare. Hope it brings a light.
The UK is an evil attempt to make a superstate out of previously sovreign peoples.
The people of Derbyshire will regain their freedom! Stop taking powers away from Derby and putting them in London! You Wessexian despots will soon fear the wrath of the Derbyshirian folk!
It's quite simple. WHO ASKED YOU OR ME? Answer, no one. The politicians who know what the great unwashed would say have pushed us into a union which initially was a free trade area and has evolved in the self imposed darkness into a commission ruled post democratic entity which now rules even the self same politicians who wanted it, 'by fear.' The fear of the question, what would we do if we left. Hoist on their own petard, leaving us not even the power to destroy the democracy destroyers.
It has NEVER been just a free trade area. Its been always on the PUBLIC agenda since before the EEC was founded that it would be a economic and political union.
As for who asked you? Well, you have the power of the ballot box at every election to voice your opinion.
Are you a relative of Ted Heath trying to defend his honour or should I say dishonour that he hid this 'always on the public agenda' knowlege that we would end up ruled by bureaucrats and political appointees. I use the ballot box, they just fear to ask the question. Do you honestly believe the question shouldn't be asked, especially when there are people like me dissatisfied with the institution. Why do they fear public opinion? Too many big pay packets to be lost I fear.
I believe that the matter of the UK being in the EU should be resolved once and for all. I actually support a referendum on MEMBERSHP. However, the end result of whether the UK remains in the EU or leaves is a UK matter and needs to be resolved internally. Blaming the EU for the shortcomings of the UK is totally disgusting ... which i what most anti-EU supporters do.
Thanks for that admission. But whether Britain leaves or not still leaves the EU with serious and dangerous issues. It reminds me off small individuals who feel obliged to join the street gang for fear of what would happen if they didn't and end up accepting a warped sense of obligation which is contrary to their beliefs just to avoid being left our or beaten up. I would recommend Melanie Phillips in todays 9/11 Daily Mail, online. cheers.
LOL Daily Mail. The only good things about the Daily Mail is this ... to bring a smile to your face when you read their ridiculous inaccurate comments, and to wrap the garbage in it :)
If I told you that the article was in the Guardian would you have looked it up. You may point me to any article you wish and I will get round to reading it no matter where it is posted. So read her opinion, respected by many, see what you think. I'm assuming you are relatively young with an interest in politics. Don't be fooled, it is your future. Read, investigate, trust no one, not even me, formulate your own opinions, don't be a sheep.
Macedonia is a region that covers 5 countries. The official name is FYROM, which was accepted by the Skopje Government and as per the agreement made when joining the United Nations. The EU acknowledges that name, and membership to the EU is conditional on the name issue being resolved.
Erasmus is just EU propaganda, prior to the EU students in free countries could always study abroad. By the way nothing is free, someone always has to pay the price, so the student get it free, mug tax payers get to pay for the privilege. The idea was to complete the communist agenda under a different name. The wall fell and the EU keeps trundling on, and mugs buy it.
@ tobjai: I don't know anything abt German politics, but isn't it possible that the 5 parties which agree on something actually do so because they simply do? In other words, I find it hard to believe that the parties met on one fine day and agreed on forming a cartel.
What's the matter, can't understand English? Of course they make sense are you that stupid?
AS TO THE WORLD GOVERNMENT: The EU couldn't convince all member states to adopt a single currency! Do you actually think that there is someone or something that would be capable of convincing the world to be under one government?
Spenner56's comments have been deleted due to the fact that I posted a comment on his channel asking him to add videos so I can fairly comment on his as well.
He preaches "freedom of speech" but restricts that in others :)
come on... you were firing on all pistons with your comments ... until i started counter-responding :)
And out of curiosity, why should the EU not employ people outside the EU? Are you implying that the EU has the best of everything and the rest of the world is inferior? Hmmm?
As for myself .. just so you are fully educated pwhich seems to be lacking] ... i am European, but living in Australia at the present :) And no, I am NOT employed by the EU in any way.
You seem to be good and making comments but incapable of sticking to the discussion when challenged.
Do you object to half a euro per EU citizen being spent on what you classify as "propaganda"?
I wonder how you would react if the EU spent NO money on promoting itself .... would you call it the "secretive group of masked men who wont tell the people who/what they do"? :)
Why does the EU need to advertise? If it had been democratically founded the majority of the people would be behind it and it could tax them that extra 50 cents for something positive, like giving the French farmers a new tractor every year instead of every two.
Why shouldnt the EU advertise? Shouldnt it let people know what its all about? Or should we rely purely on the media and the local politicians? If we use your logic, then Coca Cola, Boeing etc should also NOT advertise :)
Coca cola or Boeing aren't political entities. I see the EU rag at the corner of advertisements encouraging us to drink (buy) more milk. As a milk lake has grown as a direct result of their interference. HoHo. Buy that man a new tractor comrade. Stop trying to justify the EU, it is neither 'of the people, or by the people' and most certainly not 'for the people,' unless the people who matter to you are the same who matter to the elite.
The sarcasm in your first line is unwarranted. "Mate" in Australia is one of friendship and not sarcasm.
Or is Sarcasm the only way you can respond?
But in regards to the democratic deficies within the EU. I agree with you ... however unlike you, I see the consequences of making the EU totally democratic.
Care to have the EU transformed into a federation Spenner56? For that is what will be created when ALL levels of the EU government are democratically elected. :Think about it :)
A federation is the obvious result of proper democracy. What does a federation have that the EU doesn't have or want. Federal taxes, nett contributors already pay it under a different name, but they want an individual carbon tax to go straight to Brussels, so we can say they are working on it. Federal Laws, or harmonisation. Europol,(advisors for now) EuroJust, Euro wide prosecutors service. EAW . EDF and a say on procurement. Why go federal and democratic when they get it the Lisbon way.
Maybe you should ask those questions to the national governments who drafted, negotiated, discussed and finally approved the changes they want to see within the EU.
Try again. Each member state dictates how the EuroParl MPs are elected, and what the electorate is.
Each EuroParl MP is directly elected by the people. Thats who they represent.
In answer to your 2nd question. Take a look at the Executive of the United States. With the ecxception of the US President, NONE of the executive are elected. They are ALL appointed to their posts.
Riiiiiiiiiight. You are objecting to the cost of half a euro per EU citizen to run the department.
I suppose you are of the view that the EU should have no budget at all ... and then you would complain no one knows anything about them blah blah blah.
As for "propaganda" ... well ... suggest you look up the word. Every government department [and in fact every business etc] spends money promoting itself.
btw, I come from Germany, where thanks to our f-ed up patriotism lacking mentality and skewed media, we dont even have a true opposition representing us. Instead we sent 5 parties to Brussels, that may as well be one... a cartel.
So you should really appreciate what you have, as I envy the brits for their patriotism.
Who really benefit from a State "EU"? The people? Why so? Because this new "state" will be able to impose a tax on us? Or maybe because then we're gonna have to consult with countless nations if we want something in our country to change? Or maybe you consider it a benefit that poor EU member states can drag down the better of ones to have a level playing field, eh?
WRONG! It would be the industrie and the banks, having one place only to lobby for in favour of their EU-wide interest.
Just because someone points out the deficiencies of a democratic system, it doesnt mean they want to be part of it either way. But for the time being, any improvement of democracy helps.
AH! The same lame argument that always shows, when nothing else helps. We've have had DECADES since WWII. During that time we were able to live in a peaceful europe of independant trading nations. Why must that change?
Actually, the odds of occuring racism and social upheaval are much higher in an EU: Triggered by this "one nation state" that suppresses millions of people (with different culture, interest, mentality) under this ONE-LAW umbrella, I see tremendous rage coming up.
The EU was created By France/Germany out of envy for The UKs prosperity France and Germany are the EU the other member countries are just their cash cows.
frankly, Germany is the biggest cash cow of them all, as shown once again recently, when it SOLELY re-financed Greece in the name of the European Union!
Having said that, since I have made that last post of mine about one year ago, I have started to understand, that statism all together is nothing but an ex-post facto justification for human ownership and an excuse for violence. Hence, I'm a lot less patreotic than ever before, and instead choose to live as a freeman-on-the-land.
If it only was so easy. Some parties are racist.. just because racists want out of the EU, doesnt mean all anti-EU parties are racist... UKIP for example isnt. Furthermore, there are many small fringe parties created by the establishments, which portray the very same goals but only exist for the purpose of deviding up the unwanted votes.
- Corporate or State sponsored i.e. Controlled Media. Ever seen much coverage with unbiased pro and con ...and without zynical undertone?
- Disinterest of the People, who elect their parties based on local issues, ie they dont vote at all when the EU election comes around. (43% went to the ballot in Germany... must I say more?)
So my counter question: Why not hold referendums on Europe in all participating countries, so we can once and for all put that issue asside?
So you're arguing that because there have been too few referendums, there should be even fewer?
First: This IS a constitution were talking about.. Regardless of what its called... if you claim anything else, you havent read it.
Second: Any referendum given to the poeple is marks up the value of democracy. Keeps a leash on our gone wild politicians. Parliamentary democracy can't ever just be enough, because that makes the game for very rich, influential industrialists a whole lot easier.
there wouldn't have to be, if the people where finally given a referendum! Unfortunately as of now, the EU Parliament is the only Stage to voice concerns against this power grab by this elite driven centralized example of anti-democracy.
Two predominators that make it virtually impossible for a newer party to gain a seat.... not even 30/% of the popular vote would matter. Furthermore they do not have the political stage to sell their party to the public.
But look at the EU-Election... Proportional Representation helped the ANTI EU Party UKIP to be in FRONT of the Labour! And even the Cons are gonna tend towards a EU-Referendum (if in power).
The problem is that, EU happy politicans, dont know what the lisabon stands for, they cant read what it is, they just vote yes because they want more EU, instead of understand it, no one can understand that... Its like write a sopisticated formula without a clear meaning!
9. This seems to be a jibe at Eurosceptics for demanding a Referendum the Lisbon Treaty. All I have to say to this is that virtually all currently serving MP's were elected on a promice to hold a Referendum before fatifing another, very similar, treaty. Ergo we should have a referendum before sighning on for the Lisbon treaty.
8. What you seem to be proposing here is a Democratic European Republic. If that was what was on offer then I for one would have no problem with it. But that is not on offer. In any case it is highly questionable wheather or not such an idea would be workable. This would go a long way to explaining why it is not on offer.
7. The UK exports more to the EU than it Imports - so we have plenty of leverege in negoitiating a trade agreemeant with the EU that is favourable to British interests.
In fact it is even simpler than that - simlply (re)join EFTA, who allready have a productive trading relationship with the EU.
3 - both create a de-facto European Presidant and a de facto European Foreign Minister. Both extent qualified majority voting. Both abolish dozens of veto's. Even the architect of the constatution, Giscard d'Estaing, said that the 'content' of the constatution has not been abandoned. For all intents and purposes they are the same thing.

Too many questions for good, thorough answers. In a nutshell:
1. EU company? What would be a UNO or NATO company? (sorry no native speaker)
2. has 1 member per memberstate
3. Lissabon treaty has ambigious formulation and can outrule state law (see German const. court) etc.
4. I never claimed that, nor do I know anyone who says is.
5. No idea, maybe because EU is just one topic, Anti-EU-parties are gaining strength in Europe though.
6. Only way to have at least tiny influence on the EU.

Hoist on their own petard, leaving us not even the power to destroy the democracy destroyers.
wjf0ne 2 years ago
It has NEVER been just a free trade area. Its been always on the PUBLIC agenda since before the EEC was founded that it would be a economic and political union.
As for who asked you? Well, you have the power of the ballot box at every election to voice your opinion.
EuropeanUnionRules 2 years ago
Are you a relative of Ted Heath trying to defend his honour or should I say dishonour that he hid this 'always on the public agenda' knowlege that we would end up ruled by bureaucrats and political appointees. I use the ballot box, they just fear to ask the question. Do you honestly believe the question shouldn't be asked, especially when there are people like me dissatisfied with the institution. Why do they fear public opinion? Too many big pay packets to be lost I fear.
wjf0ne 2 years ago
I believe that the matter of the UK being in the EU should be resolved once and for all. I actually support a referendum on MEMBERSHP. However, the end result of whether the UK remains in the EU or leaves is a UK matter and needs to be resolved internally. Blaming the EU for the shortcomings of the UK is totally disgusting ... which i what most anti-EU supporters do.
EuropeanUnionRules 2 years ago

Now I want answer from the EU-stallinists.
1-WHY EU ERASED OUR LANGUAGE?
2-WHY EU IS SUPPORTING THE GREEK FASCHISM OF DENIAL TOWARDS MACEDONIA?
3-WHY DONT EU SANCTION THOSE COUNTRIES WHO DONT RESPECT THE MINORITY RIGHTS?
4-WHY MACEDONIANS CANT LEARN MACEDONIAN IN THE GREEK SCHOOLS?
5-WHY THE MEDIA ARE FULL OF EU-CRAP?
VOLK2234 2 years ago
Macedonia is a region that covers 5 countries. The official name is FYROM, which was accepted by the Skopje Government and as per the agreement made when joining the United Nations. The EU acknowledges that name, and membership to the EU is conditional on the name issue being resolved.

EU rules! It's letting thousands of students go abroad for a year... for free!
And the idea was to stop anything like ww1/2 ever happening again... that can only be a good thing
jaw1024 2 years ago

What a weak and lame response! LOL
come on... you were firing on all pistons with your comments ... until i started counter-responding :)
EuropeanUnionRules 2 years ago
You are sidestepping my comments LOL
Typical!
EuropeanUnionRules 2 years ago
Why does the EU need to advertise? If it had been democratically founded the majority of the people would be behind it and it could tax them that extra 50 cents for something positive, like giving the French farmers a new tractor every year instead of every two.
wjf0ne 2 years ago
Why shouldnt the EU advertise? Shouldnt it let people know what its all about? Or should we rely purely on the media and the local politicians? If we use your logic, then Coca Cola, Boeing etc should also NOT advertise :)
EuropeanUnionRules 2 years ago
Coca cola or Boeing aren't political entities. I see the EU rag at the corner of advertisements encouraging us to drink (buy) more milk. As a milk lake has grown as a direct result of their interference. HoHo. Buy that man a new tractor comrade. Stop trying to justify the EU, it is neither 'of the people, or by the people' and most certainly not 'for the people,' unless the people who matter to you are the same who matter to the elite.
Money men.
wjf0ne 2 years ago
The sarcasm in your first line is unwarranted. "Mate" in Australia is one of friendship and not sarcasm.
Or is Sarcasm the only way you can respond?
But in regards to the democratic deficies within the EU. I agree with you ... however unlike you, I see the consequences of making the EU totally democratic.
Care to have the EU transformed into a federation Spenner56? For that is what will be created when ALL levels of the EU government are democratically elected. :Think about it :)
EuropeanUnionRules 2 years ago
A federation is the obvious result of proper democracy. What does a federation have that the EU doesn't have or want. Federal taxes, nett contributors already pay it under a different name, but they want an individual carbon tax to go straight to Brussels, so we can say they are working on it. Federal Laws, or harmonisation. Europol,(advisors for now) EuroJust, Euro wide prosecutors service. EAW . EDF and a say on procurement. Why go federal and democratic when they get it the Lisbon way.
wjf0ne 2 years ago
Maybe you should ask those questions to the national governments who drafted, negotiated, discussed and finally approved the changes they want to see within the EU.
EuropeanUnionRules 2 years ago

Instead we sent 5 parties to Brussels, that may as well be one... a cartel.
So you should really appreciate what you have, as I envy the brits for their patriotism.
tobjai 2 years ago 6
Also, If you were to watch the US news a bit more, you'd be aware that they're now openly announcing ie. suggesting "World Government".
In order to achieve this, of course an EU state is necessary.
tobjai 2 years ago 5
Who really benefit from a State "EU"? The people? Why so? Because this new "state" will be able to impose a tax on us? Or maybe because then we're gonna have to consult with countless nations if we want something in our country to change? Or maybe you consider it a benefit that poor EU member states can drag down the better of ones to have a level playing field, eh?
WRONG! It would be the industrie and the banks, having one place only to lobby for in favour of their EU-wide interest.

NoToTheEU1 1 year ago
@NoToTheEU1
frankly, Germany is the biggest cash cow of them all, as shown once again recently, when it SOLELY re-financed Greece in the name of the European Union!

So my counter question: Why not hold referendums on Europe in all participating countries, so we can once and for all put that issue asside?
tobjai 2 years ago 2
Question 10.
Neither. Its run by the Commission.
tobjai 2 years ago
9.

Unfortunately as of now, the EU Parliament is the only Stage to voice concerns against this power grab by this elite driven centralized example of anti-democracy.
tobjai 2 years ago
Regarding 5:
Ever heard of first passed the post?
Ever heard of Corporate Media?
Two predominators that make it virtually impossible for a newer party to gain a seat.... not even 30/% of the popular vote would matter. Furthermore they do not have the political stage to sell their party to the public.
But look at the EU-Election... Proportional Representation helped the ANTI EU Party UKIP to be in FRONT of the Labour! And even the Cons are gonna tend towards a EU-Referendum (if in power).
tobjai 2 years ago

RicoRichmond 2 years ago
7. The UK exports more to the EU than it Imports - so we have plenty of leverege in negoitiating a trade agreemeant with the EU that is favourable to British interests.
In fact it is even simpler than that - simlply (re)join EFTA, who allready have a productive trading relationship with the EU.

6 - Because they have been elected - probably a reflection of the hostillity many people feel towards the EU.
