VERY NICE CAKE! i'm gonna make my first fondant cake this sunday for my son's 1st birthday, its 2 tier carrot cake. i want to use cream cheese frosting but i heard its hard to work with, so i'm still deciding to use buttercream or cream cheese. What would you recommend???? PLEASE REPLY!!!
@85jtchicago I like using Buttercream. Here's a few tips for you: Bake the cake several hours ahead of time & stick it in the freezer. Once cake is frozen, u can begin frosting. It's easier to frost when frozen cuz u get less cake crumbs while frosting. Once u frost it, stick it in the freezer for 1/2 hr to allow frosting to set, once frozen, do a 2nd coat of frosting.Once u finally finish the frosting & fondant the cake will already be defrosted & ready 2 serve. =) good luck!

@hockeygirl789 I don't know how I missed your comment, thank you so much! Yes, when I made the video I had just started making cakes and working with fondant. I got inspired after watching tv shows on FoodNetwork and seeing other YouTubers. I had to make one for my own. This was just an experiment cake and a birthday cake was the best time to experiment. I didn't think it was going to come out good at first but I decided to document it just in case. Glad you liked it. =)
