  • How people make money from New Age ideas: Stan Grof's Holotropic Breathwork appears in Ghostbusters ( Sigourney Weaver being possessed by Zuul scene ) and The Conehead Movie ( the trip to Remulak requires stasis ). The planetary alignment in Tomb Raider and The Conehead Movie are based on The Kumba Mela Festival in India.

  • Your brain is a filter of the consciousness around you. It does NOT create consciousness. Stick with Stan Grof. Watch the YT video ' The Yogis Of Tibet ".

  • We are born with these patterns which structure our imagination and make it distinctly human... Words are fail.. But I COMPLETELY understand this thought. I share this way of thinking- I have been doing a LOT of research of what 'reality' is, what we are, what this world is, how We are, as individuals how we can connect, how we do.. To (Separate what 'this' is) lol! <-- hope that makes sense, i usually fail at explaining.

  • I empathize, I really do... if its beyond our control then we have nothing to loose by not understanding.. One day humans will know and understand everything/life. We will illuminate the darkest mysteries of our mental reach, I'm certain of it.. Me and you wont be here when that happens but you don't need to know the definition for something to do it... and that is my conclusion, swim on my friend swim on and know that we are all in it together for better or worst.

  • @nickel4p you said it best brother

  • but wait, i purchased this book at chapters called the human brain book, and it cost me 50$, but it came with a dvd, and when opened it on my laptop, there was an option which showed how thoughts take place within the brain, and its a very complex and STRANGE proccess. Buy the book, haha

  • sorry ill stop commenting on your video now

  • its weird that this place did exist before i was here, it must have because my parents existed within it... and so that must mean that when i die, the universe will still exist, even though i wont know it does, because ill be dead and i wont be observing it and ill have no proof that it ever did exist or that i existed because ill be dead, ill have ceased to exist... gah

  • and it is all so strange...

  • there is no mind... our thoughts happen within the context of our brain which is in our skull attached to our bodies, which are within the context of this absurd and indifferent universe which continues to flow like a river with no destination... time is just pouring out into existence... flowing like a river

  • I think it's been known for quite some time that consciousness is "in" the brain. I believe some ancients thought it was the heart but it's pretty much general knowledge now that it's the brain.

  • What you're saying is not particularly ground-breaking. You mean there's no ghost in the machine? gasp!

  • You try to straddle the line of existence and nonexistence in your philosophy. Either you are some sort of (eternal) unseen "energy" force, or you are (eternal) dust. The bold philosopher would declare consciousness to be totally false and cite the eternal death of the body as evidence. People want to think that they are something more than dust because the idea of nonobservation and nonaction repulses them. Get used to it folks, because the last time I checked, dust doesn't think or love...

  • as one very clever person said "you are your brain". you can be who you want to be, but you cannot be what you want to be. who we are not only depends on how we see ourselves but also how other peope see us; taking that into account, who we are changes all the time. your friends, will have a different understanding of who you are as opposed to your mother for instance. walking down the street, you are just another person, to a stranger, but to a friend you are....

  • The beauty of it all is not knowing whats on the other shore. This life, and all our lives afterwards are about becoming.. becoming our true and best selves. The confusion of this seemingly temporary life, just because it is stuck between birth and death, distracts and therefore prohibits one from finding their true self and finding out who they are. In reality, birth and death are back to back, part of the same process. Life is only suffering if we want it that way.

  • the "impersonal" you speak of could be called spirit or formlessness and is predominantly the right hemisphere. The "person" or "personal" you speak could be called form and is left hemisphere. Your brain is just temporary hardware energized by your eternal "impersonal" self as you call it, your eternal spirit as i would call it. Cool thoughts.

  • deep as hell... love it! lol

  • wat the fuck

  • Whats the difference between a hand and a brain?..if you cut your hand do you cease to exist? if brain really IS different from the rest of the body that it is no longer material..do you realise what you are teaching? where is the center of being..and what is it like..you canot get anywhere with this thinking..the center of you is not the brain "it is the spirit" my friend..a that you canot put in your cathegory..because it is a cathegory itself..

  • oh thanks for this..

Anyhoose, do u haev myspace?? =]

  • would you really want to turn back if you could

  • I think he means, Once you start thinking about everything like:How,What,When,Where, Why. Some people never let theirself do that because they are to affrade to)but if you do you can't go back. It's like you have to keep going on tell you find the answers and we don't know what the answers are, but we have to keep on going because there is no turning back, you can't turn back, because you have already jumped into it.

  • From a fellow Buddhist, you are a highly enlightened being, achieving such realizations.

  • 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

  • 1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

  • ur a smart guy!

  • may i ask what you study?

  • sorry but this is a dumb question to ask.

  • why?

  • "Sentient beings are inverted; they lose themselves and chase after things."

  • Your very right. No turning back.

  • Everything inside you is God...

You are inside of God's larger body...

That outer body is also You...

  • ??? that doesn't make any sense.

  • I know what you mean...i keep thinking I've researched enough (gotta get on with other stuff!!!), but then the urge to know more is irresistable...there's no turning back really...and there's more where that came from. I do enjoy your videos.

    Vic

  • No turning back.. I hear you, bro.

  • i will throw some things into the stew:

OK 'persona' actually does mean 'mask'. dont we have many also. different masks?

So do animals. one may act different with one person and with another or their own.

What about NDEs, when its claimed flatline 'the consciousness' of the person still has sense of hirself? If brain is 'dead' how come?

does 'impersonal' mean ALL OTHER PERSONAS AND POTENTIAL PERSONAS and/or?
