  • Wow! For a kid turning16 this song was all mysterious and such.1972 a good year for music

  • This is the mix that's on the U.S. vinyl version of "Nicely Out of Tune" that came out on Elektra in the '70s.

  • @nomoremister Thank you for information! I didn't know!!

  • Total belter. Saw em live in 1984 for six quid. Best bargain I ever had.

  • This song has got to be one of most the romantic pieces of music ever recorded !

  • we used to go to the newcastle city hall every christmas in the 80's to see Lindisfarne . brilliant times !!!

  • It's a great shame the BBC wiped the Top of the Pops recording of this wonderful song. They were at their artistic peak in 71/72 - all I vaguely remember were these guys with very long hair.

  • Not heard this version - very different from the "Nicely Out of Tune" album version.

    Thanks for uploading.

  • Always liked this version better than the one on the album. I used to have the single but someone nicked it. Delighted to find the single version on here, thanks for putting it up.

  • @tumshfibrox58 You're welcome.

  • I was 17 when this record was released and it is is still one of the most evocative records in my collection. It is 40 years since its release and can still cut it for me.

    Nigel

  • Easy people, don't be fighting on this video please, it's such a shame to see people fighting on such a beautiful song..

  • @sharkboy1456 You're right! Please, listen to this song and live in peace :)

  • @sharkboy1456 thank you for say it"

  • slower version (and I think better) than many of the slightly jazzed up later versions of the same song.

  • Such a fantastic song. Oh, and fuck you to the racist below.

  • @HullzAngel

Why is it racist to bemoan the fact that your country is being taken over ?

England is not English and hasn't been for a long time.

Time to kick out the anti England brigade who preach hatred on OUR streets.

  • @QueenReigns1 You dont like it - fuck off up a tall mountain an die like the moaning cunt that you are!

  • @armandin2048

    If I don't like WHAT?...you fuckwit.

  • @QueenReigns1 The fact you and you ass fucking family and friends don't own the country and have it all to yourselves so you can presumably father your own grandchildren without having to sign the sex offenders register.

  • @armandin2048

Can I take it from your diatribe that you're not English, are you here on a visa, has it expired?

    Well in that case..FUCK OFF.

  • @QueenReigns1 What do you mean ? Should those with Norman blood go back to Normandy? Or all the way to Scandanavia? What about the Angles and Saxons, Jutes and Danes? Shall they go back to Saxony, Juteland, Denmark? Who was in Britain before them? Gauls? Should they go back to Galicia? Or Galatia? Before them was it the Picts? Where should they go back to? Nobody knows much about them. Seems as if Britain has had a lot of immigrants. Who would be left if they went? Boobies and auks?

  • @captmark97

I don't give a flying fuck where they go.

What we should is kick out all illegal immigrants and stop any more coming in.

But we won't because we're too fucking soft.

  • Lovely Track Lindisfarne a great band it reminds me of England when it was England. Before it was over-run with Immigrants

  • @rarecockneyguvnor

    Totally agree.

  • @rarecockneyguvnor unfortunately not so rare cockney wanker
