very informative video but buzkashi was not invented by the Mongolians. this is a sport thousands of years older then the Mongolian empire so the Mongolians could never have come up with it. Some of you might think that it is a cruel sport concerning the calf but every bit of the calf is put to use from the hide to the meat.The sport looks ancient because it is made to look ancient, it might even be the very first competitive sport and the Tajiks in Afghanistan are very proud of that.

That was very interesting and informative. I don't think that Buzkashi is barbaric or sick at all; maybe archaic. The goat is already dead and is used as food just as it would be if there was no game. In my opinion a bullfight is far worse, in comparison.

Its not as sick as you might think. Every (edible) bit of the goat is used for food preparation including the head. Its a very difficult sport (I mean, you try picking up 200kg+ of meat single-handedly whilst riding a horse) which gives a great sense of pride to the victor. Its a shame women cant watch though
