the main cause of gm predicament are the executives whose main concern are dividends paid to shareholder. they did not invest in RnD, green tech and others to assure of their future.
The best overall plane of WWII was the P51D, it had extreme long range, fast, could climb well, dive, turn, outward visibility, durability, repair ability, ease to fly and good firepower for dog fighting. Not everything is speed. The ME-262 was very innovative and way ahead of it's time, but not the best in a dog fight.
You're on the right track, and props (no pun intended) for slapping Slameagle and the like around.
However, speed rules the engagement. This can take the form of alt, relative E state, or even just raw thrust. The faster plane can disengage at will. Dogfights are not angles battles. There is something to be said about the Spit, Yak3, Zero, et al, but in the end, it's all about speed, alt, and relative E. Even Boelcke preached that at the dawn of such things. ;)
U.S cars have a bigger ratio weight per HP than many Europe/Japanese cars. This bigger ratio results in lower MPG. Heavy weight doesn't mean it is safer.

I'd hope so I've had factory jobs in the past and even a small boat or furniture factory like the ones i worked in go much faster than that. It surprised me but a boat factory less than 100 employees can turn out 100/day engines. The furniture factory i worked in could turn out 600 units a day tables,nightstands,china hutch whatever we always rotated. I think the furniture factory had something like 200 employies in my department. probably more like 500 over all.
Gratz on the car. That thing will get you the babes. If not just pull up to the curb, open the right side door and put it in R. That gives them the choice to get in or get smacked by the door.

and that solstice maybe does suck and will surely break down very soon, and as car it doesn't deserve spending the money it costs.
but the problem isthat even if you don't buy the car because it sucks then the people who build it may lose their jobs, their homes, and maybe even their families.
so by not buying a car you don't punish only the company that made it but also the people who built it.

I get this point, but the fact of the mater is, when I personally go to buy a new car, The families of the builders aren't going to enter into it. quality and longevity are, and you get more of both from import companies.

Moron, They are far better. Have you ever owned a MB? I have, it sucked. Back in the early 70's there was a class action suit against them for such crappy reliability. Cad's in the mid seventies weren't much better but they were better and less expensive. EU cars SUCK on reliability!
