Sloppyvomit, when currencies aren't backed by the gold standard sooner or later currencies will collapse. You can't keep printing money out of thin air just because you feel like it - this creates inflation and if many trillions are printed and distributed throughout the world hyperinflation will kick in. By sticking to the gold standard the fed is restricted on the amount of dollars it can print. Remember wealthy countries rise and fall. America will collapse because of it's greed.
