being interviewer is gotta be the most shitty job in the entertainment industry as far as asking stupid questions, especially nerve wrecking 1s like "how did it make u feel when u won the nomination?," etc... artists don't enjoy being put on the spot, they probably just want to avoid the interviewer entirely & get on with their lives, but i guess certain entertainment demands some kinda public presence when ur big like that. i feel sorry for many artists who have to submit to such demands.

I love it when she described the sound and subjects of the album and says "anatomically fixated", It's like she was talking above his plain of understanding so he had to play it off like she was making no sense, but if you make music or even have a deep love for music, she was making perfect sense. i've seen my fair share of florence interviews and i've noticed how she gets flustered and almost angry when the interviewer praises her too much, like when this guy mentioned that she won a lot of awards... it's because she's so humble. love her

Florence has dyslexia and dysmetria and has self-diagnosed herself with ADD, OCD and insomnia. She's probably pretty neurotic (most geniuses are) and social excursions like this one probably aren't her forte. Some artists (*cough* Lady Gaga *cough*) are all about the public eye, but Florence seems to be the kind of person who's interested mainly in doing music.

@theskyisround I recommend to everyone Tennyson's poem "The Lady of Shalott." Many believe it characterizes the tragedy of the "artist's dilemma." The "artist's dilemma" arises when people feel compelled to create art about the world but can only do so by viewing it at a distance, removed from it. They are consistently caught between the desire to make this art or actually live in the world and experience it. Neither way leaves them completely satisfied. I so see Florence suffering from this.
