Next time try exhaling all your air, and swallowing 10 times. I had hiccups for 3 days one time, went on the internet to find a cure, and thsi was the only one that worked for me. And it still works after 10 years. The method was explained as making your diaphram believe you are drowning. When that happens, excess carbon dioxide is forced to your diaphrapm to relax it. And so the hiccups go. Don't know how true that part is, but for me, this is a sure fire method.
