These are not elections for a "European parliament " ( several European countries e.g. Norway and Switzerland ) are not taking part !
These are elections for the EU parliament.
The same parliament that recently voted AGAINST having their expenses made public.
The same parliament that voted AGAINST the democratic will of French,Dutch and Irish voters on the constitution/Lisbon treaty.
Now they expect us to vote for them and to give them credibility !

If Pöttering feels strongly about our choice then why is there a treaty of Lisbon which has been voted out in 3 different countries? Why are there still talks going on with Turkey when there is not even a single European member state where a popular majority supports Turkish membership? Why dont you start by really doing what the people you represent want you to do, you lousy bureaucrat?
