@Shan08rtts The phrase alludes to the monotony of promoting movies. Soap in itself is a bland product and can only be pitched in so many ways to convince a consumer to purchase it. The case can be made for movies, actors are constantly going around giving the same company line and answering the same questions over and over again, like a soap salesman. Hope that helps :)
