Sony HDR SR10 Video encoding test

Hey, I have the same Camcorder and I use Sony Vegas 9.0 Pro to edit my videos, but before I edit them I have to convert the stupid AVDHD File to 640x480 .wmv and save it to my desktop so I can then put it on Vegas and edit. Once Im done editing I render the file. I have rendered in MANY different settings and presets, not one setting or preset is good in my eyes! what did you render as?

MUSIC is a bit 'Bombastic' for what in effect is a plant video or a guy on a bike ( i saw the shadow LOL) unless its a killer buttercup from the day of the triffids ROFL nice quality though VG

Isn´t Bad, but i prefer Sony HDR-XR 500 v its very hard to buy because the price, but its a great great camera. :D

Hi there. You need yo look for software that supports AVCHD footage. I used Pinnacle Studio 12.

loiloscope works for me. its alittle slow and wierd. its an HD japanese video editing software but it works good

nice video. are you using HD FH or HD SP?

I have the same camera, I use HD FH and convert the video into a more editable .avi with Neo Scene, and get superb picture quality.

Thanks for the info! I'll try the Neo Scene converter to see if it works for me too.

I used HD FH too and converted it to 720P in Pinnacle studio. Not an awesome editing tool for HD video...

how did u get the vid on to computer, i went onto usb connect but it wasnt there... please help.

First you need to install the software from Sony called Picture Motion Browser.

Then you connect your camera with your pc with a USB cable, and touch the left button of the USB Connect screen on your camera.

That should do the trick! :)

Not really, I have this camera and a mac, but it's getting easier. I would just boot camp your Mac, because a mac can run windows better than a PC can (Y).

Hi there! I've got an Core2Duo 6700, 2GB of ram and a Geforce 7900GS.

It's far from perfect for editing HD footage. For youtube 720P is the best you can do, and that works fine. But 1080 is way to much for this pc.

I have a question regarding the converting process .. .I have the same camera and all my recorded video files are in .MTS or .MT2S

I tried to convert them to MP4,AVI .WMV or .MOV but still the movie file is not shown properly. Could you help me please and tell me which software are u using and what are the parameters of the converting ?

Thanks! I Use Pinnacle Studio 12. You need to use software that supports Full HD footage in order to get good results. All settings will do just fine, as long as you have the latest version of video software that supports HD.

How'd you get a HD vid on here? I've been trying but youtube wont accept m2ts files. Argh. I'm such a noob at this.

You need to convert it to an other format, like HD WMV (windows media video). Most video formats are HD enabled today. So simply get the latest version of your video editing software and you're ready to go.

When you upload a HD video file here on youtube, it will be HD enabled. Up to 720P I think.

Yes this camera is absolutely amazing. It can do even better than you see on this video since youtube is not Full HD and these clips were shot within the first week I got the camera. The SR10 is light weighted. So it's absolutely perfect for traveling.
