@NashTracks I believe this is Min-You, one of the dying arts in Japan. It is sung mostly by elderyl ladies and rarely on choirs like these. But great composers usually hire a famous choir to do this , they assemble some performers. Like in Katanagatari, Xenogears, Ghost In The Shell... I believe they all might be the same group.

I love this song so much! Suikoden 3 really got my emotions whenever I played it. I was so close to crying when Hugo's friend died, and I felt like the places are almost real and almost felt homey to me. Unfortunately I didn't get to finish the game because somehow the CD was broken, but I'm looking forward to buy a new one and start over from the beginning.

When I was a kid once, must have been 12 or 13 years old, I was sick to the core, barely able to move out of the bed. Temperatures, vomits and the likes all over. Pills or anything didn't make me feel better, a lenghty hospital treatment was considered. One day of this I was bored of doing nothing all day and started this game, even though I didn't like it at all at first. As the game developed I was so into it that I sometimes forgot I was sick. I can safely say it healed me more than anything.

@TothKPeter To be honest, the game is really not spectacular. It's decent sure, but this piece of music is about the only thing that is memorable. I recommend Netflix or something and try the game out first before you buy it. Some like it some don't.

Is it just me or is Suikoden 3 tremendously underrated? Everyone says 5 is better, but why is it that I think 3 is much better? Am I from a different planet? 3 is much better than 5 by a landslide. Now, I can understand the argument with 2. 2 and 3 are close. Hell I'll even add 1 to it. 1, 2, and 3 are close. But 5, while good, doesn't compare imo. Obviously 4 is out of the picture.

@twright778 Well as far as I know, the first Suikoden game I`ve played was the 3rd and I`ve played some of the 5th. The 5th is good because it is voiced, but really, I fell in love with S3. ♥

@lChula I prefer not hearing what they sound like. It lets us use our imagination and make our own voice for them. What if they sounded dumb like Tidus in FFX? I would've given Tidus a much cooler voice in my head. But he sounds like Shaggy from Scooby Doo.

Hugo was by far the best Hero for the game. His story line allows for you to learn and understand other cultures. A world where everyone was equal now matter what they looked like. So Awesome a concept. I'd say this game was a good sequel to Suikoden II.

@malibutaa There are passing references to the events of Suikoden II, but nothing gets thrown in your face like the tie-ins between the first two games. For example, you certainly won't be recruiting your old heroes, which is unsurprising given the fact this game takes place a couple of decades after the prior entry. The real bridge between II and III is the gaiden text game that was never released state-side, but you can find a synopsis of it online.

Idk the game was just very boring to me. The story was prob the worst of the whole series in my opinion. The game jumped around too much. The characters were all meh, very lame to me with the exception of Luc and his gang. The battle system was really ugly and boring. The music was the worst out of the series imo. and the war battles were awful. Loved all the war battles with the exception of 4. I think 4 is about 30 times better than this game and thats saying something lol

Suikoden 3 was the first game of the series that I played, and it captured my heart. Since then, I've played them all, and though i have yet to beat 1 and 2, Suikoden is easily the best built story I've ever experienced. Truly magical and unforgettable. Never has a game made me so emotional. I can't wait for 6.

Suikoden 2, for me, is the top among the suikoden series. suikoden 5 has a very good story progression and the war game was awesome. Suikoden 1 is okay since the timetable is closer to suiko 2. Suikoden 3 has the best opening theme as far as this series is concerned however I have my own qualms with the story as well as the presentation overall. It lacks something which 1,2, and 5 had.

2 > 5 > 3 > 1 > 4 In my opinion. 2, if remade, would be literally amazing. 5 just due to the game having just this amazing feel of polish. 3 ranks in the middle, but in this series that's not a bad thing.

1, while being the original, doesn't hold up to the test of time as well as part 2. And part 4, while having a semi decent story, took way too much out of the Suikoden formula to compare with the others

This song reminds me of the Stone Tower level in the Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask. If you have the game play that level while listening to this song, it matches perfectly well at least to me. it really matches when you turn the level up side down too.

Suikoden 3 had such a cohesive world and such rich characterization (and unlike the other Suikodens, the largest number of truly useful characters). It was an amazing game full of amazing things. The only problem is it was basically built around Hugo. You technically can choose Geddoe or Chris, but it's like they forgot to write a story for them. As badass as Geddoe is and as noble as Chris is, they have such terrible reasons for accepting True Fire. Regardless, it's a gripping game. Play it.

After playing the 1st and the 2nd, I had a rather disappointed opinion ( only thomas' chapters truly gave me the feelings the 1st and 2nd had ) the game is pretty good, I wish the 4th and 5th would be as worthy, even if not as epic as the 1st and 2nd.

I feel like story has been overlooked in the last suikoden games, probably to the profit of graphics...

I liked the concept of their war idea, but it had no strategy whatsoever, just mass all your units on one space and voila! Plus the fact you can't give orders to your units means they will act like true idiots and using their crappy Runes you can't unequip (frigging Queen)

You only use your entire army in the final battle, and until then it's full of these "survive 5 turns" crap matches. Again no strategy

How about defending a village while preventing enemy reinforcements? But no multitasking

The wars in the first game were essentially a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Your three main attacks are magic, charge and bow. Bow defeats magic. Magic defeats charge. Charge defeats bow. If you have ninjas in your ranks they will tell you what the enemy's next move. If you have 3 ninjas and are lucky with your theives(they do the same thing as ninjas except that they usually fail) and voila! Automatic victory.

True Lightning was the games greatest rune, and makes the flame one look like crap.

The skill point system is something very well received by me, but I did not like the lack of slots and the fact some characters could not learn skills. Instead of denying access to those skills, they should of just made them incredibly hard to level, then no excess points

Even if you consider it stand alone, it's hard to get into a game that takes 40+ hours for all three stories to finally converge. Now if they had been taking place in completely different area's one might not have a problem with it, but you really do go through the same area's dozens of times, and that combined with an annoying world map, gives off a bad first impression.

I actually hated Hugo's story, mostly because he talked, while with the other younger protagonist before, they were silent so as not to show off their ignorance.

Every word outta Hugo's mouth was stuff about how he can't forget about Lulu, whom completely deserved his death.

Geddoe was boring, they would of been a good subplot, but as a main focus, it didn't work.

Chris is my choice of the games protagonist, but I never choose her as my flame champion as she sucked with magic.
