If you wear bright red lipstick with nearly no eye makeup, it's gonna throw off the whole look. There's a reason why the old pin up look is popular, because it works! Just red lipstick and nothing else on your eyes will make you look sick. And your "rule" about the lip liner... not true. I'm very irritated by this.

@trinaphoenix unfortunately I have seen and know professional makeup artists who actually recommend that SAME rule for the reason being that it acts as an undertone, to make the pink (which still looks like pink after you apply on top) look like a nice 3D color instead of very flat color. As much as I dont trust her ability as a makeup artist, that ONE tip is right. I am sorry I came across Mel's channel--that was an accident. I'll be leaving now.

There is also a make up look called big eyes and big lips! which is dark eyes and bright lips to draw attention to both.

Just be carful about what you say... because all make up looks a beautiful and i think you need to do some research on the different types of make up looks.
