@Julietteisme. Singers choose to not sing live at concerts mainly because their vocals get tired, going from town to town and doing shows after shows.
I would make the same choice for half of my concerts to not over exert my vocal chords, to not damage them.
I sing myself, not for record companies but for small gigs, & I know it can get tiring.

very indiee i love it just like mgmt she has her own unique voice we all have different taste, singing like beyonce doesnt always mean "good at singing". all the musicians are different.

I like the way she does this. I've read comments to contrary taste, but I hear her sweet feminine voice. I say, let everyone sing! - I was homeless for 4 years, (frostbite & then some)and I know about 'falling down'. Some of the most talented people can't read enough to type a response_ yet most responders have 0(zero) talent. Only God loves a critic.

First when i heard her singing i thought she was a real bad singer,
but now that im listening to this one, her voice is really boyish, powerful and husky.

the way she sings this kinda reminds me of when the chick in chasing amy sings with her friends band at the bar...take it as compliment or criticism. "unconventional"/"bad", its all opinion, so it doesn't really matter. she gets cool points for wanting to do a tom waits cover album, but kinda gets some taken away for actually DOING a tom waits cover album...

agreed. Well, 2 things. One: yeah she's good looking, but her voice cracks a lot when she tries to hit certain notes. 2. I thought this was a cover of Lacuna Coil :(
