    5. The Darjeeling Limited

    6. Bottle Rocket

    -all brilliant

  • @daltonw94 i couldn't agree more.

Rushmore is HIS masterpiece! Fantastic Mr. Fox is his comeback! Tenenbaums is great but Rushmore is Anderson's finest achievement as a director. his other films are interesting but isn't fine tuned like his 3 best.

  • For some reason 0:39-0:41 makes me laugh. There's just something about him standing there and looking so intense by the Rushmore sign. Epic times...

  • 1. Rushmore

    2. The Royal Tenenbaums

    3. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

    4. Fantastic Mr. Fox

    5. Bottle Rocket

    6. The Darjeeling Limited

6 is the only one I dislike.

  • @GreenshirtMr1023 What ?!?!?! Really?!?!?!

  • What the hell? This trailer is basically a plot summary!

  • you people who don't have Tenenbaums at #2 are fools.. could be considered for #1

  • O R they?

  • 1. Rushmore

    2. The Darjeeling Limited

    3. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

    4. The Royal Tennenbaums

    5. Fantastic Mr. Fox

    6. Bottle Rocket

But only 1 and 2 are actually good.

  • "O R They?"

  • 1.Rushmore

    Although all Are Amazing Movies!

    Wes Anderson is a God!

  • @ZackandDannyshow you said it, man. good list. i agree with everything.

  • Trying harder to score with chicks and he picks a teacher. Good choice. :)

  • 1. Rushmore!

    2. Royal Tenenbaums

    3. Darjeeling Limited

    4. Life Aquatic

    5. Bottle Rocket

  • @HellasLEAF Id switch Bottle Rocket and Aquatic.

  • @HellasLEAF

    Fantastic Mr. Fox?

  • not sure whether i prefer rushmore or the royal tenebaums. both are absolutely fantastic films though

  • What, no Criterion edition for SLACKERS, with Jason Schwartzman? Nonsense!

  • I admire Anderson's vision for the Life Aquatic, but I do think he fell a little short. He'll absolutely and undoubtedly NEVER top Rushmore.

  • Life Aquatic definitely is Anderson's best, but all of his movies are just great. Fantastic Mr. Fox was just a delight as well. It saddens me criterion didn't recognize Darjeeling Limtied or Fantastic Mr. Fox, as they were just as good as the rest of Anderson's resume.

  • LOL at the asian guy in the photo 1:31

  • thank god for the muthafuckin' criterion collection!

  • "bag 'em and tag 'em Jerries... we're movin' out!"

  • Song at 0:55? BTW loved this movie. "These are O.R. Scrubs" "O R They?" LOL

  • How come the criterion of this masterpiece is like sold out everywhere ive went to so much stores and i cannot find one single copy.

  • its so hard to choose which wes anderson film is the best... its sorta like a 5 way tie

  • Comment removed

  • I've yet to see "The Fantastic Mr. Fox", but so far, Wes Anderson is 5 for 5. I've loved every single one of his films.

  • One of the best films ever made.

Definitely the best Anderson flick. Every other film of his is equally great to me, but this ones a little higher.

  • "oh, are they?" the dumbest joke in the movie but I love it every time

  • Great use of "A Quick One"

  • why are you wasting your time writing this comment. wouldn't you rather be on some anti-wes anderson website???

  • anti or pro, what difference does it matter???

  • 1. Rushmore

    2. Royal Tenenbaums

    3. Darjeeling Limited

    4. Bottle Rocket

    5. The Life Aquatic

  • Yes, haitra... you got it EXACTLY right !

In fact, I think Darjeeling and Royal T's are tied for second.

And if you REALLY pushed me, I'd say Darjeeling is the most cinematically sumptuous and nuanced of all.......

    But, overall, you pegged it.

  • hanitra.

    Sorry...

  • Glad to see someone agrees! It's really hard for me to choose between Tenenbaums and Darjeeling, for they're both so excellent, but Rushmore trumps all.

  • Come on man... Life Aquatic was definitely the best.

  • You're crazy, man!

  • This takes place in Texas, but I'd never guess it . As a native New Englander, I'd say it almost has a kind of northeast feel to it. Maybe it's just the way it's shot. Great film.

  • definitely got the same impression

  • Haha it was filmed at the high school I go to -- you're exactly right, it's very northeastern. It was built to resemble prep schools in New England.

  • 1. the Royal Tenenbaums

    2. The Royal Tenenbaums

    3. The Darjeeling Limited

    4. Rushmore

    5. Bottle Rocket

  • Mine is literally the reverse of this.

  • @InFlames231 The pay off takes longer, many people don't finish watching it.

  • @InFlames231 The first half of The Life Aquatic is kinda boring.

  • @InFlames231

They killed a main character very suddenly and it made the film feel so pointless that I couldn't stay involved with the story.

  • @guywiththerockfistup

I don't know, to me it's the most absurd storyline of all of Wes' films just because of how the docs that Team Zissou make are made seriously but at the same time very comical for how they're put together. It's hard to describe. Anyway, for me the pleasure is constant throughout the movie. And are you talking about Esteban or Ned? If it's Ned, then don't you think it's right that it was so suddenly? I mean, that's how life is.

  • @InFlames231

It's one of my favorite films of all time.

  • 1. Rushmore

    2. Royal Tenenbaums

    3. Darjeeling Limited

    4. The Life Aquatic

    5. Bottle Rocket

  • FUCK YOU

  • 1. Rushmore

    2. Royal Tenenbaums

    3. Darjeeling Limited

    4. Bottle Rocket

    5. Life Aquatic

  • 1.royal tennebaums

    2.darjeeling limited

    3.rushmore

    4.bottle rocket

    10.life aquatic

And yes, I know that I numbered 1,2,3,4,10

  • 1. Royal Tenenbaums

    2. Rushmore

    3. Bottle Rocket

    4. The Life Aquatic

    5. The Darjeeling Limited

  • 1. Bottle Rocket

2 and 3 joint. Rushmone and Royal Tenenbaums

    4. The Life Aquatic

    5. The Darjeeling Limited

Basically get worse as they go on, budgets get bigger etc. Think Wes and the Wilsons have lost a lot of their charm as they've got more famous. Kinda Catch 22; I wanted to get all my friends to watch them, but now everyone has they don't feel personal anymore. Bottle Rocket will always be best in my mind!

  • hmm...

    1. Rushmore

    2. Royal Tenenbaums

    3. Bottle Rocket

    4. The Life Aquatic

    5. The Darjeeling Limited

Wes anderson's work was a progression, with bottle rocket giving you that slight anderson feel and rushmore going in the right directions. The royal tenenbaums i feel is the pinnacle of his meticulous storytelling, but i honestly enjoyed rushmore more je ne sais pas. He went too far with aquatic, but reacted too much in darjeeling. Theyre all great, you notice something new every time.

  • Exact order I'd put them in.

  • Oh hey, I want in.

    1. Life Aquatic

    2. Royal Tenenbaums

    3. Rushmore

    4. Darjeeling Limited

    5. Bottle Rocket

  • One of my favorite movies ever.

  • 1. Rushmore

    2. The Royal Tenenbaums

    3. Bottle Rocket

    4. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

    5. The Darjeeling Limited

  • 1. Darjeeling Limited

    2. Royal Tenenbaums

    3. Life Aquatic

    4. Rushmore

    5. Bottle Rocket

  • 1. Rushmore

    2. Bottle Rocket

    3. Life Aquatic

    4. Royal Tenenbaums

    5. Darjeeling Limited

  • Sounds interesting. Maybe I´ll watch it someday on Isat, maybe not... Ha, ha. I love to watch movies. I have watched a lot of them and I´ll watch. Sounds like a maniac, well, I like cinema.

    Watch my videos.

  • What the...?

  • agree w that list, except bottle rocket should most certainly be above darjeeling, at the very least. the emotional pitch of bottle rocket and rushmore were was good as wes anderson got, he started to get a bit campy in life aquatic and lost it on darjeeling

  • Does the region 1 dvd have any decent extras? That was my only negative about the region 2 dvd. Nada. Best film ever

  • 1. Rushmore

    2. Royal Tenenbaums

    3. Life Aquatic

    4. Darjeeling Limited

    5. Bottle Rocket

All of them are brilliant, no doubt.

  • haha for me its

    1. the royal tenenbaums

    2. the life aquatic

    3. rushmore

and im still saving up money for the last 2

  • 1.Rushmore

    2.Bottle Rocket

    3.royal tennebaums

    4.darjeeling limited

    5.life aquatic

  • same exact list !

  • oh yea!

  • in the film, not the trailer

Bill Murry regarding the Teacher, "She's sweet, but she's fucked up."

  • i'm about to see this movie. so far imho, the best picture by wes anderson, is the life aquatic. i'm wondering if this movie will take its place. i sort of doube if anything could top seeing bill murray in a speedo <3

  • i can tell you...in my opinion it will do...its really curious and has a lot of details:D

  • "These are O.R. scrubs"

    "Oh are they"

    classic.

  • Cool!

  • "Never in my wildest imagination did I ever dream I would have sons like these."

This is by far Anderson's best movie, followed by Bottle Rocket, with the Royal Tenenbaums coming in third. Herman Blume smoking two cigarettes is one of my favourite movie moments of all time. "I've been lonely."

  • bottle rocket is his first and best film. here is the order...

    1.bottle rocket

    2.darjeeling limited

    3.life aquatic

    4.royal tenebaums

    5.rushmore

  • I would flip that list almost entirely.

  • how dare you.

  • Most people would, but there are a bunch of anderson fans who feel that way, i'm not saying i['m one of them. I need to go back and watch rushmore and bottle rocket again.

  • I agree with xwhitedemon your list is discombobulated beyond rapport

  • i would flip that entirely too

  • how dare you disagree with my list.

  • Amazing movie.

Hard to believe that a famous band stole a line from this movie and no one noticed. D=

Amazing movie, one of my top 3 faves.

  • What line? What band??

  • Fall Out Boy stole "Tell that mick he just made my list of things to do today" as a song title for their 1st album.

As you can tell, they took the word 'stupid' out. D=

  • They didn't steal it; Rushmore is the lead singer's favorite movie, it's more of an homage than a crime.

And they didn't take 'stupid' out on purpose, they just misquoted the line, haha.

  • Actually it's Patrick, Pete and Andy's favorite movie. It was at one time, at least. Ant I didn't mean "stole it" like took it because they could, I mean that they "stole it" as in took/used it for a song titled.

  • It was at one time, yeah. But that was years ago, who knows what their favorite is now. Never know with Pete.

  • One Band and line?

  • Cannot believe this was not nominated for best picture??? WELL TELL THAT MICK HE JUST MADE MY LIST OF THINGS TO DO TODAY

  • awesome soundtrack

  • i dunno, i liked it better than The Royal Tennenbaums or The Life Aquatic. I don't know anyone else who agrees with me though.

  • rushmore is a masterpiece!

    anderson hasn't topped it yet.

  • I like it much better than The Royal Tenenbaums, but it's about equal with The Life Aquatic.

  • This is one of the greatest films ever. In comparison to coming of age themed movies it makes everything john hughes did look like shit and defeats The Graduate by a long shot.

  • i think rushmore is undoubtedly the best film ever made

  • maby the best

  • my first favorite movie. but damn, this trailer is spoiler-ific.

  • I think you're right. The only justification I can think of is that a large part of the movie is its style and details, which trailers

    generally don't convey.

  • I really like this movie.

  • What a good movie

  • Thank God for Max Fischer. May he shape us all

  • Max Fischer is my hero. Excepter for thw whole sociopath part. :)

  • what's the song that plays from 1:30 to the end?

  • A quick one while she's away-The Who

  • A Quick One While He's Away

  • Anybody know the name of the song at 42 thats starts?

  • The Creation - Making Time

  • Anybody know the name of the song at 42 thats starts?

  • This is a seriously good movie.

  • this looks funny. haha 'come on dad pull your head out of your bleep.' haha funny!

  • "She 's my Rushmore "

    <3

  • I know, she was mines too

  • haha :D

  • I saved Latin.

  • is it filmed like the Royal Tenenbaums? if so i'd love to watch it!

  • Well... it's Wes Anderson! (if that helps.)

  • thanks, i had a look at wikipedia. i'm pretty sure i'd like to watch it!

  • Each one of Wes Anderson's films is a filmed in a different way. EG: Tenenbaums was a book, Life Aquatic was a documentary and Rushmore is a play.

  • Aha, thanks a lot!

  • no problemo.

  • your dumb...

  • So what's "The Darjeeling Limited?" Don't forget about "Bottle Rocket."

Impart your knowledge on me, oh great movielover. :)

  • Just got this Criterion version! :) I love Wes Anderson...

  • whats the song that starts at 1.08 seconds?

Wes Anderson's films are amazing, Jason Schwartzman is just brilliant.

  • It's by Cat Stevens. I think it's called Here Comes my Baby.

  • Well tell that Scottish Gorilla he just made my list of things to do today. I'm gonna pop a cap in his ass.

  • I'm gonna send that Mick back to Ireland in a body bag.

    He's Scottish.

  • what a fond movie, fresh, plnety of memorable characters and his director rocks

  • wes anderson is my favourite director.

i love the tenembaum and life aquatic

i havent seen this one because it wasnt edited in my country but i would like to watchh it

  • I never saw this trailer before!

the one on my dvd is all short!

  • "Best play ever man"

  • take aim at the rich kids. get them in the crosshairs, and take them down.

  • My favorite quote in the entire film!

  • what's the song that starts at 39 seconds?

  • Making Time by The Creation

  • This is my all time favorite movie. I love Wes Anderson. Can't wait till Darjeeling comes out!

  • wes anderson is your god

  • That's a coincidence. My top schools where I want to apply to are Oxford and the Sarbonne. My saftey's Harvard.

  • I love Wes Andersons movies and all Coppola family movies and actors(and both Wilsons):)

  • Stop arguing over dumb shit people..this movie is fuc*in hilarious. "...pull your head outta your ass"

  • real gem.

  • tenenbaums wasnt a book. they portrayed it as a book in the movie.

  • Tenenbaums was a book, this one is a stage play.

  • Bill Murray is the master!!!!!!

  • well life aquatic was a documentry...tenenbaums was a stage play...i think this one is a book. Just kinda cause i got a real catcher in the rye influence. ya know with max failing out of a prep school and the whole teenage rebellious themes. but what do i know thats just one mans guess.

  • quick question, does any one know what medium his next movie will be made in. he's done, a book, a play, and a documentry (can't remember what bottle rocket was), so I guessed,

    a video game????

  • This film is the APEX

  • "These are O.R. scrubs."

    "Oh are they?"

    Classic

  • I want to see this movie, yet I don't want to spend money renting or buying it.

  • it's well worth the rental fee man!!

  • then don't. shit, just get netflix then you won't have this problem. only retards don't have netflix. netflix rules. netflix FOREVER!

  • By getting Netflix I would be spending money; that's not happening. Go advertise Netflix somewhere else.

  • then you're sad.

  • You're obviously not good with psychology.

  • i. love. this. film.

"i saved latin. what did you ever do?"

    amazing.

  • BEST FUCKING MOVIE ALL TIME! WOO! Long live Rushmore! The music: 10 The actors:10 The philosophical undertones: 10 The comedy: 10 The very lovely Olivia Williams: 10 Best fucking lead actor of all time Jason Schwartzman: 10 If you don't like Rushmore you can take your receipt from the video store, crumple it up into a little ball, and shove it right up your ass. Send the DVD to me, though. RUSMORE PRIDE REPRESENT! Peace out.
  • THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE OF MY LIFE.

  • long trailer? I haven't been to the movies in a while, but as far as I remember, this is the average length.

  • Wes Anderson's best movie hand down!

  • that was a long trailer

  • the film's ending was great i remember.

  • I love this movie!

  • that was brilliant
