Christopher Hitchens had the courage to step out and show religion for what it really is. There simply is no religious dogma that can stand up to to the scrutiny and argument as he has shown us. Sad that he has gone, and his detractors will revel in the opportunity to attempt to discredit him.
Don't ever let your attention be diverted by the attacks on him personally as none of that matters. Look at the message by reading his books! His legacy will live and be an inspiration for years to come.

In his criticism of religion, in disabusing people of the illusory shackles into which we are all born, he performed a great service, and demonstrated a higher love for humanity than anything to be found in the so called "holy" scripture. Placing man and woman on the highest peak in full view of our potential, where we belong, and not in the lowest of pits, in servility and guilt. The latter is where religion placed us, the former where Hitchens wanted us to be. We must continue to that end.
May he rest in peace. Hitchens, Dawkins, Hawkins, Matt (from the Atheist Experience show) and many other atheist I consider my heroes for the contribution to the enlightenment of humanity. He will be missed! Thanks for the memories Hitch!
@TheChemicalWire I have no idea what I might think while dying of cancer. But, during intense combat situations, I never had even a fleeting thought of God. I can't imagine anyone grasping at magic to save one's life, instead of relying on personal tangibles. It simply goes against our survival instinct.
I have to say i think Hitch was far too aggressive to really get his point across in his prime, and he didnt have adequite time once the majority caught on to the lies theyd been told to really change the world. I hope that a better salesman can pick up where Hitchens left off, use his work and the projects built around it to push farward the movement of rational thought and intellectual freedom for all.

I have never been so saddened by the passing of a public figure in my lifetime. I can't put into words how much I will miss Christopher's voice, though it is of some comfort that he will live on in print (and here) forever. Just very sad. A terrible loss for free thinkers everywhere, and of course for his family.

KJV translators used the word "hell" generically to represent three different Greek words: gehenna, hades and tartaros. And the hebrew word Sheol was also mistranslated. Look it up you retard.

The 'concept of hell', and by that I am assuming you mean a place where a soul is sent after death having been judged unworthy of heaven, to be punished, tortured, tormented, etc. is NOT mentioned in the new testament. Be careful when claiming hell is ever mentioned as a place, because it is not. Hades has been translated as 'hell', yet hades is where christ went after he died, and is merely a place of souls after death good or bad.

Christopher Hitchens had the courage to step out and show religion for what it really is. There simply is no religious dogma that can stand up to to the scrutiny and argument as he has shown us. Sad that he has gone, and his detractors will revel in the opportunity to attempt to discredit him.
Don't ever let your attention be diverted by the attacks on him personally as none of that matters. Look at the message by reading his books! His legacy will live and be an inspiration for years to come.

In his criticism of religion, in disabusing people of the illusory shackles into which we are all born, he performed a great service, and demonstrated a higher love for humanity than anything to be found in the so called "holy" scripture. Placing man and woman on the highest peak in full view of our potential, where we belong, and not in the lowest of pits, in servility and guilt. The latter is where religion placed us, the former where Hitchens wanted us to be. We must continue to that end.

I have to say i think Hitch was far too aggressive to really get his point across in his prime, and he didnt have adequite time once the majority caught on to the lies theyd been told to really change the world. I hope that a better salesman can pick up where Hitchens left off, use his work and the projects built around it to push farward the movement of rational thought and intellectual freedom for all.
My uptmost respect for the Hitch tho.

I have never been so saddened by the passing of a public figure in my lifetime. I can't put into words how much I will miss Christopher's voice, though it is of some comfort that he will live on in print (and here) forever. Just very sad. A terrible loss for free thinkers everywhere, and of course for his family.
