@danielnradu One thing you will come to realize... You can put a good player on a $10 guitar and it will sound good... Tone is 30% guitar... 70% fingers/player. You can put a shitty player on my $5000 les paul custom and it will still sound shitty.

He chooses notes from the chord to create a solo, rather than all the notes from a scale. Jazz players use this concept all the time.

I used to play a Brian May Sig guitar. It only has a 24" scale length, so the frets are quite close together. I found myself doing alot of riffs with just my first three fingers where I would normally use my pinky on a Strat.

FYI a little over a year ago Gary Moore announced that he was giving up playing rock guitar, after having seen Muse in concert. After seeing Matt Bellamy's playing he decided that the craft of rock guitar had moved ahead too far for him to keep up with, and he was now going to stick to playing blues. I'm a huge fan of Gary Moore (and Brian May!) and thought that was kind of sad. But he's an awesome blues player too.

I find that weird (and yes sad) that he would come out and say such a thing when he hasn't really dabbled in the rock genre since the "After The War" album (alibet one or two dalliances with some modern rock/experiemental leanings on a couple of projects), Blues has been his bread and butter mostly however....such a shame that he hasn't been able to continue with his love of both styles, because as you say he is an amazing blues guitarist as well. Gary needs to go back and listen to himself LOL
