  • Actually they had to replace the entire turbine. Its still sitting there. Due to leave tomorrow. This could be an amx comm.... 1 us flag from the whitehouse $200, 1 737 jet turbine $1.2mill, having the end of your commercial pilot career on you tube...priceless

  • I hate when that happens.

  • I bet that PIC had a lot of 'splanin to do to his Chief Pilot and Director of Operations after that mishap!

  • lololol

  • ya, what happened to the engine?

  • @dirkamus - They had to repair the engine. It sat on the tarmack for a few days.

  • That's not good at all, what happened afterwards?

  • @navymmw - It needed blades replaced.

  • @FIREMANJAX The flight engineer told me that normally there is no problem with the flag, but this time, after going thru the water canons, the engine began to flame out. The pilot grabbed the throttles, but let loose of the flag, The FE also had hold of pole but lost his grip when the pilot did. There was no procedure for this, but now they know to brake heavily to avoid sucking flag into engine. I found bits of cloth & metal all round my plane. DN &cvz N16070 OCF
