  • I really dont understand why people would want horses to jump higher and higher isnt their love for us enough just asking.I think 1meter should be the max a horse should be aloud to jump.

  • HICKSTEAD!!!!!!! He was the last horse in the video!!!!! Miss you bud

  • I meant Sam not scam

  • The chestnuts name is scam

  • this is a REALLY good video! great job

  • Love this video (:

  • I understand the jumps are high but my instructor would flip if i landed on the horse's back like half those riders...can't be good for their backs

  • @Smiley6095 they know what they're doing!! the horses are fine, they have such good saddles and pads!

  • @WASTHATAPOSSUM yeah... im pretty sure a hundred pound person slamming on your back isnt cushioned by a half inch thick english half pad and a saddle with a metal tree.

  • could I use some of theses clips in a video? I would credit you and all.

  • thumbs up if u love your mom

  • Does anyone know the name of the chestnut horse at 1:07

  • this was awesome!

  • wonderful, beautiful horse at 2:58 I like how it rears :3

  • the olympics start july 17th 2012 i can't wait!

  • nobody relises these are horses we are talking about we dont need to win we dont need to beet them we need to be with them its about trust not how stong you are but about how strong you are on the inside horses are animals untammed untouched their her for us to enjoy not to injure or destroy or scream at because they did somthing rong on accident to control a horse you just need to talk with your mind and body.

  • 2:24 wooooaaah i swear to god he was going to get himself trampled...thank god he rolled clear *-*

  • good video, but i wasnt fond of the music

  • Omg 0:40 looks the the horse is diving!! Coolest jump ever!!!! Great riders

  • I ride Grand Prix Jumpers and do FEI level dressage...who cares about women vs me, let's just say who the FUCK picked that horrible song??! hahahahaha. I work in Rock n Roll and almost had to click off due to my inability to get though that TRACK! Damn. Have to say, as an olympic level person and athlete (former ice dancer), riding has nothing to do with Men Vs. Women. Talent is talent, harmony, finesse and precision is just that....skill and horsemanship.

  • Girls not being strong enough is not true I'm a 16 year old 5 foot tall 100 pound girl and I get to ride a 17 hand grand prix horse that my instructor owns I take lessons on him and sometimes like once a month my barn owner let's me warm up his Olympic level horse for him

  • Ok, sorry that everyone is offended by what I said about women not being strong enough to ride grad prix horses. First off I would like to say how many women ride horses? Now how many of those women ride grand prix horses? the percentage is not very high. The majority of women who ride cannot handle the strength of a grand prix horse. There are a lot of women I know who can. And they are beasts. I however, and the majority of the girls at my barn would never be able to handle just any grand prix

  • horse. Most men in the riding world become trainers, which means that they are obligated to ride horses of all levels, and they have the strength to do so. The percentage of men who ride and who do grand prix is much higher than women. I have nothing against women grand prix riders I was just stating the facts. Women are completely capable of riding a powerful horse. I have seen it. I know. And no need to call me names or anything because you dont know me at all. Im sorry that you feel im stupid

  • @neonllamaz BEASTS? Speak for yourself. Size 2, I ride Grand Prix horses, I also run upper level Rock n Roll. Guess what, you CAN be feminine and kick ass. Sure, there are many TOUGH women in riding, yet, ponder how many gay men ride? Doesn't mean they are not strong either. WOW, the ignorance in that was epic. Bravo.... Most riders ride hunters. Sorry, no comment there. If you want to PERCH and just jump 3'3", sure you don't have to be an althlete...neither does your horse.

  • @michellecoutois Never said anything about not being feminine or that gay guys couldn't ride well. Please don't read too deep into my comment so that way you can try to bring someone who you don't even know down. I have nothing against anyone. Sorry that my comment made you feel like I did. I am sure you are a wonderful rider and are very good at it as well :) good luck to you in your future riding!

  • Totally agree with u 13horseluvr you would know I heard about the one time you got hurt ( I watch ur vids ) and it is EXTREMLY hard to do that stuff any one who says they suck i'd liketo see u do what they do and pass

  • For anyone who says these people suck, here is my message to you:

First of all, they're in the OLYMPICS for crying out loud. They have to be good to get there in the first place.

Second of all, those horses can be extremely hard to handle. A thousand pound creature with a mind of its own is not going to make it easy for you.

Third, the sport itself is damanding and physically dangerous. If you fall from one of those horses, you could be killed, instantly, just like that. Plus, the riders are

  • Where have you had the videos please? I myself editing videos on the show jumping and dressage as well as my riding stables, and the videos you've put me in your assemblies would be very useful! It would be very nice of you thank you! Beautiful video in rhythm with the music, I love it!

  • It's always that oxer two-step

  • This is NOT animal cruelty, horses love what they do, do you think a rider could MAKE a horse jump that? It's not like someone just suddenly decided, you know what, I'm going to make my horse do Olympic jumps. They are bred and trained to do this. But horses can tell when their rider is stressed and anxious, and will react accordingly which is why a horse will sometimes spook and refuse a job. I have only ridden in rodeos, but you can't MAKE a horse do something they dont want to.

  • you could tell that the rider at 1:38 or 1:39 pulled his horse back and chipped his horse in causing his horse to knock a rail

  • @neonllamaz WTF? I am a girl and have been riding for 10 years and can control a horse. But it isn't all about strength, you have to make the horse listen to your body. If it was just strength it's turn into a huge wrestling match with your horse. -.-

  • you did an amazing on this video!!! Great job!

  • @neonllamaz your an idiot! Women are just as strong as men! I'm a women and I control horses just fine. I'm sure there's a ton of other female riders out there who would agree with me!

  • everytime a horse starts refusing and pigrooting does that mean they're extremely unhappy about jumping or they dont trust their riders enough or something?

  • @h0r5es4life sometimes, but usually its just the horse get spooked or confused by something and it just need to be worked out

  • I don't know if I could go to the event, I would get soooo scared every time someone fell off....

  • i like the song :)...and the video :)

  • can i use one of these clips? (: x

  • that is hell and i should know it because i ride horses too

  • i hope i make it to the opympics with my horse...

  • @liv2ridemyhorse i think thats every riders whish! :P

  • who is tht guy in the red jacket he kept knocking the poles down

  • Wow, awesome movie. excellent horses and riders

  • It pretty much animal abuse, hwat some of those riders do to there horses.

  • 1:19 Merideth Michale something-or-rather having regrets with riding for the Germans? haha, gota love the equestrian drama.

  • This cannot be good for the horses legs....

  • poor horses! they are really forced to jump heights they are afraid of and that are dangerous for them if they knock them off. Olympics should be less demanding and more sympathetic with the horse at LEAST 10cm or 20cm less would be fine.

  • @beccayumi If the horses didn't want to jump these heights, they wouldn't be doing it.

  • i love you mom- I LIKE THAT

  • Oh man das nen ich aber mal reiten muss gelernt sein!!

  • Wow! Most of these people are GUYS! I wonder why Girls dont. LUUVV this VIDDD!!!!!!

  • because girls arent strong enough to handle such powerful horses. it sucks.

  • @neonllamaz wht r u talking about. girls can so control such powerful horse. idot

  • @froto08 im a girl. im not strong enough. some are, but very few!

  • @neonllamaz that isn't true really. i'm a girl, and it isn't just about having the strength to hold a horse. It is about connecting with the horse and make them listen to your body. if you try and use your strength it just turns into one, big, messy wrestling match; one which the horse will win.

  • @neonllamaz um thank you very much but girls can handle those horses. That's why tons of women do grand prix stuff. Lemme name a few Meredith Michaels Beerbaum, Beezie Madden, Gina Miles, Georgina Bloomberg, care for me to name a few more?

  • girls doo.

  • I want to try to jump even though I had a terrible first try on a horse!!!! I didn't even have a jumping lesson!!! Luckily I was in a western saddle!!!!

  • I wonder how they get the horses to jump that high?My horse Quincy is a Quarter Horse and the only "jumping" he can do is walking over a log:) I know he is a quarter horse but my mom said he could go over a low jump. I adore this video!!!! I watch it all the time:)

  • hehe i know what you mean. my friend's quarter can only jump two feet.

  • This fits so perfectly, Amazingly done!

  • omg where did u get these clips??? there amazing

  • I love the video Its so real and sweet!!!

  • That's a nice video!:)

  • I love this video, it's amazing. [:

I watch it a lot. haha

  • is this the bloopers?

  • 2:04 poor Katie, Dunstan looks like he gave her hell.

  • does mac cone happen to be in there

  • the first guy is mac cone. my trainer is his brother. :)

  • who's the one who kept falling off?

They're lucky they didn't get trampled that one time!

can you give me the rough age/yrs experience/age horses that the olympic riders have from 08? also, oldest in that group and youngest, and who got the g.s.b? I never get to watch these, cause I don't know when it's on tv.

also, I know you put the words to keep people from stealing those parts of the clip, but I really want to see those falls without the words, because I can't study the fall with them.

  • There are two different riders and horses falling on the same jump.. After you fall off you don't get to try it again, and if you watch there are two outcomes

  • right, I forgot that a fall means elimination.

kind of sucks though, first of all for someone riding at that level to fall off in the first place, cause if you're that high schooled wouldn't you like, RARELY fall off? I mean must have hurt like heck, along with losing the medal.

  • Just because your experienced and ride at a high level doesn't mean your chances of falling are slimmer.

John Whittaker last year at NZ Kelt Capital Horse of the Year fell off at the first jump.

  • Do you know who the song is by??

I really like it and i think it fits with the video really well :)

    thanks

  • its walk through hell by say anything. its a good song :) have it on my iPod lol

  • Thanks yeah it is a good song i love it xD

  • @Moonshine148 Nah horses dont want to hurt you. The horse would have done everything he could to stay off the guy.

  • OH YA GO CANADIANS lol

  • Awsome video!!!!!!!!!

  • may i ask were you got these clips??

BUT THIS IS A AWSOME VIDEO IM sENDING IT TO ALL mY FRIENDS

  • i would love to work with international riders i ride in shows but i can't afford a big swedish warmblood so i havent gotten a chance to jump that high i can only jump 4 ft with my horse how did u get to groom international riders' horses? thats so cool!

  • It all depends on your experince.. To work internationally as a groom you should have proper knowledge of horse care - Not the basics - Knowing what good strong legs look like and how to help if they arn't just right - Be very thorough, noticing a scratch in hidden places means the difference between winning or competing at all. - How to paid - most places will teach you physio equipment - Clipping is a must. Some places will teach you, but you must hope to be a natural at it because at that

  • level you don't get trial and error - Bandaging, everyone thinks they can till they start grooming real show jumpers. Also be prepared to work and travel only knowing people in the horse industry. Working some times 14 hours, often 10 hours a day and 6 days a week

  • Well.. You don't always get a monday off, but working mondays is easy because you just muck and hand walk horses. That being said - Loved it. It's a great experince.

  • I should mention that you only spend about a month total at home otherwise your off to a new city every other week.. And 4-6 months in FL every winter.

  • 4 ft is still pretty freaking high, seeing as horses wouldn't do that NATURALLY.

I too, want to know how to be an international groom/working student! how do I get trained by an international champion???

  • love the vid

    xx

  • heyah can i use you clips?

  • do u ride/jump?

  • I train in show jumping and dressage and I flat ride and groom for international compeditors

  • :O wow

  • does any1 no how high u hav 2 jump for olympics-sj and eventing?

  • Yes. I know everything related. The biggest oxer at the 2008 olympics was meter 60 tall and meter 55 wide, give or take.

  • Eventing is only like a meter 30 or 35. Same hight the 7/8 year old classes in showjumping compete haha

  • ye but hav u seen the courses-i think pony club novice eventings preetty "substantial"

thanks tho-makes u feel gud to know u can possibly jump the height-if not the course:)

  • Those hights are for eventing show jumping. I have not a clue about cross country. I only work with high level show jumpers and dressage horses

  • where did you find the clips

  • I have entire olympic equestrian events recorded. These vids were posted hours after they aired on TV live. This vid is of round two showjumping team

  • why do you only show the faults?

  • Because it makes the video more interesting.. You know who rode clear because they finished high in the standings but you don't hear about the faults and falls. It mkes your relize riding at that level is something to be acheved and i takes real riders to do it.
