@manco82 I think you mean comparing Nazi Germany and Israel. Kira playing an Israeli agent apprehending a Nazi war criminal years after the war ended, and Cardassia being Germany, and Bajor playing Poland or just Europe as a whole.
Am I the only Trek fan that LOVES Cardassians but DETESTS Bajorans? Other than Kira, the Bajorans are absolutely the most boring, self-righteous, humorless, sniveling, victim-mentality species Star Trek has ever created. I always root for Cardassians over Bajorans, Cardassians are fun!
I really bothers me that an episode in the 5th season (I don't remember its name), there's a Cardassian who was killing old Bajoran resistance fighters and at the end claimed that he was only an innocent servant who got caught in a bombing to which Kira said that there were "no" innocent Cardassians on Bajor, which seems to go against everything she learned here and other episodes where she interacted with Cardassians who weren't Gul Dukat.
@Rezkeshdadesh She's dealing with a nutcase who is taking revenge on her for her people daring to fight back. She's likely not going to give the self-righteous jackass any kind of satisfaction.
@Peteman12 i disagree, he was hurt that he wasn't involved, he was servant, he was truely hurt by the war not kira, he thought he was bringing justice and he name was Silaran Prin. as Kira Quoted He wanted to protect the innocent... and separate the darkness from the light. But he didn't realize... the light only shines in the dark. And sometimes innocence is just an excuse for the guilty
I met Ms.Visitor at Dragon*con 2011.She was very nice and very open to Star Trek fans. She also talked about how much she loved playing Kira because she was such a strong female character...flawed..but still a strong female character. In all I found her to be a very nice and sweet lady.
@mrorville1 It can't be the other way around...The Palestinians never occupied an Israeli country, whereas, the Israelis continue to occupy Palestine for over 50 years and continue to oppress the Palestinians. I think my comparison is more accurate.
What a great piece of art and performance. Harris Yulin deserves all the awards. This had me crying so deep. Amazing. COMPASIONATE. In memory of all that suffered the holocaust. Thank you for the script.
I normally don't comment on videos, but in this case I feel I must applaud TheGodBen for a great video. Despite the audio problems others have commented on, this is video really enhanced an already powerful scene. I recently watched the episode and, I have to say, it wasn't as powerful with the normal music. So, TheGodBen, bravo!
if i ever get around to doing star trek reviews, this will be my first episode. i love this episode. in my opinion, its tie for the best episode of Deep Space Nine with In The Pale Moonlight.
I know, but I was trying to drown out DS9's own music. I wish I could get a hold of the scenes before the music was added so that the music didn't have to be so loud.
why did you add music and make it harder to hear the actual dialogue, the music in the episode was fine as it was, you only made the scene worse.

Any fool comparing Israel to Cardassia deserves to be shot. Show me the labor camps, the death camps, the extermination policy.

Amin was one of the most noble and good characters ever written for Trek.

The guest stars playing various Cardassians were magnificent. It's too bad this guy only did one episode.

Jerked a tear. Well done except the music was louder than the voices.

How can it be that a show with such great episodes and scenes like this lives in the shadows of such inferior sci-fi?

I have this episode on Dvd and the music is not part of it. Wherever you got the video it was added after the fact.

Very clever meditation of genocide, Marritza represents those not directly involved and their sin: they didnt try to stop it.

There are ways to demux the sound and video if you have access to the original DVD of the episode.

Such a good scene, good moral lesson.
Also, music was really well done, it added nice dramatic effect.

One of the best ever, yeah Harris Yulin is amazing. This episode hooked me on Deep Space Nine for good.
Great performances!

Harris Yulin was amazing in this episode. I think its a career best. Just a shame that the average viewer will never know how good this guy is.

What the hell is with the overwealmingly loud music in this?

Amazing ep but the BSG music dub totally spoils it - the original score was better and hearing both tracks together makes it worse!

Great clip but the music is way too loud during the dialogue
