I'm Canadian. I was in grade 5 and after lunch my teacher ran in all flustered the she tried to draw the towers on the board.
Then when I get home after school my dad was home, which was weird because he works down town toronto and he doesnt come home until later.
He said they evacuated his building. i saw the footage on tv and was so confused. every night i hid on the stairs watching the news as my parents were.
I was 8 when this happened, so this is really the 1st time i've seen these videos... seriously scary. I live in manhattan though, and i still remember everything about that day. our 3rd grade teachers wouldn't tell us what had happened, but slowly our parents came to get us, so we all knew something was up. my mom works in tribeca and saw the 2nd plane go in as she was getting out of the subway, she immediately started walking uptown. still get freaked

i had such a wonderful day on the asbury park boardwalk in nj. the day was stunning, the people were wonderful and my day at work was just amazing. as i drove home i completely broke down. i realized that these poor victims were on their way to vacation, going home from vacation and beginning their day at work. i got home safely today, but these poor people never got to go home nine years ago. it's tragic and heartbreaking for the victims, their families and friends. i can only imagine.

6th grade... I don't remember ANYTHING from 6th grade... except this morning. I remember specifically my art teacher crying as she was looking up at the tv. I was 25 and in nursing school when this happened. My aunt and uncle were sitting on a plane in Atlanta that was supposed to be bound for Washington, D.C. They stopped it before take off about the time all planes were being grounded. My husband ended up in the sandbox over all of this. Thank God they finally got Bin Laden but I know it's going to strengthen their resolve that much more to attack us again...it's just a matter of time.

I'm Canadian. I was in grade 5 and after lunch my teacher ran in all flustered the she tried to draw the towers on the board.
Then when I get home after school my dad was home, which was weird because he works down town toronto and he doesnt come home until later.
He said they evacuated his building. i saw the footage on tv and was so confused. every night i hid on the stairs watching the news as my parents were.

i had such a wonderful day on the asbury park boardwalk in nj. the day was stunning, the people were wonderful and my day at work was just amazing. as i drove home i completely broke down. i realized that these poor victims were on their way to vacation, going home from vacation and beginning their day at work. i got home safely today, but these poor people never got to go home nine years ago. it's tragic and heartbreaking for the victims, their families and friends. i can only imagine.

Well... I come from Italy and on 9/11 I still was on summer holidays... summer wasn't over already! I was 8 (almost 9) and it was 2.46 pm and I was sleeping at home, my grandma's home... Remember on August 10, 2008, which was one month ago, a similar disaster rocked Toronto, Canada but this time it was the Sunrise Industrial Propane Gases facility that hit by a major blast and fire. You must have heard this story in New York City, United States back on August 10 2008.

It is amazing to see this...it makes me think of other horrifying events in human history and how similar some of the people could have reacted. Like when Nero blamed the christians for the burning of Rome and all the Crusifictions, or when the Mongolians invaded Iraq (I do not recall the original name) Or to even jump centurires ahead and think of the invasion of Russia and the horrifying seiges of Stalingrad and Leningrad.

My wife asks me why I watch it, and its about how the media covered the biggest story since Pearl Harbor or the assassination of JFK.
Also, it does make me remember that no matter what, we must stay in Afghanistan and put Al Qaeda and the Taliban on their knees. I'm leaving Iraq out of this discussion.

One week before this unfolded, I was inside the WTC, taking in the beautiful view from the observation deck. I watched this all unfold from New Jersey. So fucking surreal.

haha at 4:06 they say that president bush was reading the children a book. yea that never happened haha bush was listening to the teacher read him a book cause he's a monkey. lol other than that this was a crazy day. i'll never forget those pictures.
