  • I'd rather petrol over this shit... 3 hours for an 80% charge? Fuuuck how abut refill to a full tank in 15 minutes!! lol not to mention that smartcars are damn ugly..

  • @BrothaHood70

I have a video on my page about battery swapping. Also, Google "Flashlight 90 second charge".

MOST importantly, ExxonMobil's current record for profit taking is $45 BILLION in just 3 months - that's not revenue, that's pure profit, baby. So, if you were on the board of ExxonMobil and you saw that Electric Cars really ARE fast (click on "PLAYLISTS", top of my page) you would see the writing on the wall. Oil Co.'s ALREADY pollute, you think they care about YOUR kid's future???!!!

  • @CI9TK Really I don't care about pollution, we're gonna die anyway. I don't care if electric cars go fast. I still prefer petrol so electric cars can suck my doodle.

  • @BrothaHood70 Electric cars are terrific but they don't come with small straws.

  • @CI9TK Well, sure they are a great success, petrol is just my preference :)

  • It might make sense for the SMART Car to be offered in a low-speed version that qualifies as a Neighborhood Electric Vehicle. In that way, the model could operate in more urban environments by sharing bicycle infrastructure.

The problems with cars in promoting suburban sprawl, traffic congestion, and unsafe / unlivable streets come from long ranges and high speeds. Electricity, itself, only addresses air and noise pollution.

  • It is already looking like gas stations will go extinct rather soon.

  • this car is useless, all it is, is a death chamber, i bigger, also electric car, would protect you more and still cost you nothing for gas

  • @26 seconds, the dummy's head hit the steering wheel quite hard, but over all they think the car does a pretty good job at protecting the driver.....Maybe they do not understand a couple of things. 1. how important it is NOT to hit your head quite hard on anything. and 2. thrown around violently is NOT a safe thing. Even though the very tiny hood collapsed, 90% of the rest of the energy must go somewhere. Pure Morons for concluding that this is a safe car.

  • all you muscle car fans can go fuck yourself in the ass witk your muscle car mufler. Bitches!!!! :) ha ha

  • @pisknahui the Tesla is a Muscle car accept its power by electric not a V8 engine the Tesla can go 0-60 under 4 second.

  • Electric cars are useless!

Where do you get the electric from?

    Power plants!!!!

Everyone who thinks it's a good idea is stupid.

  • @Marcusiscool19 Electric cars are great if you live in Hawaii or other Island because the Gas price is now $5.00 per gallon and its not like you can cruise the interstate or freeway like you do on Mainland.

  • UnAmerican junk!!!

  • Unfortunately these cars require you to chop your ball sack off before you get in... you decide if the gas prices are worth the burden.

  • UnAmerican Nazi garbage!!!

  • @jimcoboris hey look i found an american idiot guy who thinks smart is german, how dumb you are, this little car is from swiss!

  • put put put pout put put put put put put

  • If you are EAGER for the REAL truth about electric cars watch Jack Rickard's videos! web.me.com/mjrickard/ & on youtube... "1 A Convenient Response to an Inconvenient Truth - EV"

  • I support the idea about electric cars, fully! I hope this will be cheaper for an average citizen in the future, so that we can stop using those ancient noisy polluters, that ruin both the atmosphere and human health. Go go electric!

  • @Aleque are you f*cking stupid or something? where do you think electricity comes from....

  • @bigun1999999 •Solar energy (generating of electricity from sun)

•Wind energy (generating of electricity from wind)

•Geothermal energy (using hot water or steam from the Earth’s interior for heating buildings or electricity generation)

•Biofuel and Ethanol (plant-derived substitutes of gasoline for powering vehicles)

•Hydrogen (used as clean fuel for airplanes, spaceships, and vehicles)

  • not bad but i think topless xd is much better...

  • We need small electric cars like this with one or two seats. If you observe the cars in the street, you will find that more than 80% of them only have one people inside. Carry a people less than 100kg with a 1-2 tons car, it is a stupid idea. It is a big waste.

  • Warning -this electric version is only available as a special 4 year lease in limited locations... thats right the same old scam-

good thing nissan and chevy seem to be breaking the EV production wall

remember business never flows with the market, it controls the market

we have been screaming for EV-town cars for 100 years (and have had the technology to build them for 100 years)

EV-town cars should have been mass produced 100 years ago

  • @Zoidborg1 They will be available for consumer purchase from 2012 I've added myself to the list of people to be contacted.

  • weht about batterie pack trailers for extended travel, or a hybrid trailer that will power the batteries??? way to go smart if your intentions are real?

  • Wow! Gotta love it, cute as h#ll- ravasity.com

  • 62miles is good, make it 100 and i will have one!

  • I love Smart Car ; )

  • what ever happened to the roadster, an electric roadster will be perfect

  • @fairyheli2 Roadster all the way!!!!

  • The Smart Car is very efficient.

  • it be cheaper to buy a smart and convert it.

  • Would be my perfect electric car!

  • i only drive 5 miles to work so i could drive for like 2 weeks without charging it...how can you beat that?..my truck take sme 5$ gas every day lol

  • @noodle1969

5 miles? If it's not hilly, try riding a bicycle.

It's soooooo good I was hooked before I knew it.

  • Fk you smart car....250 zero emissions automobilles coming to america from this company for 30.000 grand each and ONLY to CORPERATIONS,probably oil companys. Only 250 cars and to corps only=fucking joke.

  • Had to stop by and tell this fucking co.off. just finished up with BP and had to. This co will be selling this small piece of zero emissions machinery for 30.000 dollars and to corperations ONLY and only 250 will be coming to america TO THE CORPERTIONS in a little over a year or so,some may ask what wrong with that. My answer is BP and the gulf, two fucked up wars and being owned by the good o'l boy club and saudis. 250 zero emission cars to corperations and probably oil companys. FK U SMART CAR.

  • The confirmed range is 87miles. Give or take some based on your driving style.

  • Its still going to be years before these are an affordable alternative to petrol.

  • Its really happing the nissan Leaf now smart Electric Car

  • @masterlee123: there's heaps of electric cars coming this and the next 2-3 years...things are starting to change and it's about time

  • @ultimazer1 The Chevy Volt looking really out of date or out of place compare to the Nissan Leaf and now with the SMART Electric Car. I beat GM is bitting them self in the ass for killing the EV1. hehe

  • I would love to take a look inside. I'm 6'3 an am a bit on the Burly Side. Would I be comfortable driving it?

  • @BOOGE64 yup...

  • On my Youtube channel, I drive around with an Electric Smart in Berlin, Germany. Feel free to watch.

    watch?v=6O_auE2LoZM

  • A sensible solution for the future. I have a gas smart and, although it's small and wind sensative, it is cheap to get around and easy on the eye. A battery unit would be a nice upgrade to my vehicle. A little more power and cruise control and they would be set.

  • i'd like to do the same to my "chevy aveo 2007 5speed" but i would like to use

a bedini motor, or for of thim to battery charger as i drive down the rood.

i have looked up bedini motors on u-tube and most will put out 200 to 300 ACv.

and some people put ac inverters on thim.

so what i would like to know is thair a way to make a ac inverter that

runs on ac and not dc?

thats if you know and all so thanks for your time.

  • The Nissan leaf pwns this.

  • i want one to teach to run on whale oil.

  • another failure from 2003? there was a reason why 2003 had a huge fail and decline of electric cars. 3 hours to charge for 60 miles? that's the same ratio 7 years ago..

Seriously they need to make an Oxygen Car.

  • SOLAR POWER + ELECTRIC CARS = FREEDOM !

  • I think freedom isnt that... Freedom is petrol... Electric cars, isnt very freedomy, they run out quickly, and take years to recharger. If someone only could think of a way to charger them in the same time, that takes to fill a tank of gas. Then only thing we are lacking is the noice =)

  • Well if you like FREEDOM FROM FOREIGN ARBIAN OIL you sould by the TESLA S with 300 miles range and 30 minutes charge time !!!

Dont pay for TERORISM just pay for some SOLAR PANELS si an ELECTRIC CAR and that is all you have got FREEDOM !!!

  • @kostea13 Does Tesla sell outside of California?

  • @3089280288 Yes they have a stor in Munich and will open new more ...

  • @kostea13 Nope, the tesla doesn't have a 300 miles range. It doesn't even reach the range advertized by that company (240 miles). It was tested to have a mere range of 80 miles. Yippieh, while carrying around a 500 kg battery which is necessary, as batteries are a very bad carrier of energy. And no, it takes 16 hours to charge the Tesla. And how does the Tesla make you less dependent on fossil fuels, if 85 % of the electricity is produced by fossil fuels?

  • @joakimveyron NOT DRIL BABY DRIL ! SOLAR / WIND POWER + ELECTRIC CARS = FREEDOM !

  • @kostea13 What does someone from Romania know about EVs or what do Romanians know at all, apart from charriots towen by cows?

  • @joakimveyron who tested it to 80miles? On a race track for sure probably 80 miles, but I know people who have driven it normally for the full range.

Also electric from coal is a lot more efficient than petrol. Plus you get the bonus of being able to clean it at one spot which is way cheaper and more effective than cleaning it on the car it self. Also you have the option of using cleaner electricity as it comes on line. eg my home state is 100% hydro power.

  • @Octamed "Also electric from coal is a lot more efficient than petrol." I am sorry, but that's not true. True is that the big advantage of the electric motor is that it has a high degree of efficiency (of up to 80 percent) and that it delivers the same torque independent of the revs, but the overall degree of efficiency is not lower than that of an ICE. Also true is that the major share of electricity is generated by fossil fuels (oil, coal, gas). Where do you live?

  • you know its funny, wouldn't you think if you used one or two wheels from the car to generate at least half or all the power used to make it get more miles per charge. shame i was not rich when i was 20 with my own idea then to experiment with my idea. its nice to see someone has half my idea right some where in the world.

  • electric drive....

    ED?

    lol

  • kind of late with this, car makers. we've been clamoring for something like this since what, the 60s? and now you tell it's coming soonish? is that a little like the EV1 we're still waiting for? or more like the commuter rail? how much did it cost for the petroleum companies to buy you all, and why the hell don't THEY bail you out every few years? jerks.

  • 62 mile range doesn't really sound practical to me.

I'll stick with my Beetle for now, thnx.

  • nissan/mitsubishi are coming out with 100 mile range only-electric car.

  • and nissan charges to 80 percent capacity in half hour, not 3 hours...also, nissan leaf has iphone feature that alerts you over the iphone when its charged, what its charge capacity is, etc when you are at grocery store...

this smart car is behind japanese technology.

  • But for somebody like me it sounds very practical because my daily commute is less that 40 miles both ways.

  • @kakompo That's what it is for most commuters. So it's more than enough for most people.

  • @kakompo check in how many miles needs to re-change the batteries the costs for new ones and then ill be glad to see if it still worth it!!!!

  • @blazek132 As I tried to point out to Brotha Aaron, Oil companies have a lot, A LOT of money to influence your thinking. Their greedy pockets are depending on you to advocate for fossil fuels for them.

  • Americans will never buy smart cars because they to fat to fit in one.

  • true that...hihihi!!!

  • So you criticize Americans and generalized everyone as fat in your stupid comment yet you live in the U.S.? I guess that makes how as fat as every one of us, motherfucker.

  • hahaha nice one.

  • HAHAHAHA

  • Because you can get a jaguar. better car for around the same price

  • Americans pay their bills. We pay most of yours too.We didnt do this G.Bush did. There is nothing uglier than political corruption.

  • umm, this thing would get destroyed in a cash against a truck or suv. i'll pass.

  • ha ha ha ha ha take this hummer driving earth h8terz >=D we found a way 2 stop using fule he he he he he now we will olny use oil 4 thingys we rilly need like..........................i dunt know free oil o i know wen we get robots we will need the ol 2 make them no sqeek

  • Cute car....However I would request that they dont park in my spot, Ford F-250 King Ranch

  • so there's an ev version of this.. i will wait then for that.. i want off the gas iv tube forever after this! cars cost as much as houses and don't last nearly as long.. gas is just another slavery!

  • What we need to start on is hydrogen drive. that is what will be powering our cars of tomorrow. only emission is water.

  • hydrogen is overly complicated, in gererating, transporting and using it. As soon as batteries have a fast charge then everything will go battery.

  • How is it complicated at all? The only complex part is getting it in the car. And thats not a problem either. You have to screw in the gas nozel. They have them in California. Plus, electrical is stuped. The production of electricity is harmful to the environment. They dont go that far, they take forever to recharge, AND when the batteries die, where do they go?!?!?! Into the earth!!!! Defeats the purpose. Hydrogen is easy tomake byproduct is water and it lasts forever

  • god man how do you think they produce the hydrogen...they use huge amounts of electricty...hydrogen is usless because of it its basically just a storage system for electricty.....skip the hydrogen bs and go directly electric

  • @59acres the electricity is produced by the car. Its not useless. Electric cars are useless. you can only go a couple hundred miles, then it takes hours to recharge. Hydrogen is just like gasoline as far as thats concerned. Plus the hydrogen system will last virtually forever

  • Ahhhh right those hydrogen producing cars.......so is santa coming to see you soon?

  • @59acres lol ok, shut up

  • going to bring you one of your very own hydrogen producing cars is he lol....merry christmas....i'm just screwing with ya....too bad there isn't such a thing right?

  • @59acres Alright! lol it would be interesting

  • @59acres electricity isnt the problem. it would be fine to do hydrogen smart cars if there were more windmills and solar panels on to of homes. don't you think that the world should launch a project called project green. think about it. a world of zero polution. screw gasoline we need electric. thomas edisons discovery. we need to make the world a cleaner and healthier place. thumbs up if you agree

  • they already are fast charging, its just that it doesnt charge all the way. for electric cars to work, we need to find a way to charge batteries very fast without dammaging the battery, charging atleast 80% or more, able to last thousands of charges, and able to last for hours. oh ya, and the motor needs to be very reliable

  • i actually was doing to research online for great batteries in the world. i came upon a batter called the virus battery, check it out

  • lots of legrm for 6 ft guys

actually more spacious that sedan, LMAO

now fi they get some more trunk space would love to get 1.

  • i want a black smart with black tridion and black oz wheels

  • The Smart is far more than a fad, it is becoming a reality and BTW they are still impressing folks everywhere.

  • @egn83b

Europeans will never buy american cars:

Not because we are anti amarican or something. If we look on us-webpages we look at this low prices for big cars.

    But than we look on the fuel economy. And nobody can pay this mass of gasoline an american car needs. The price of a Liter gasoline is in Germany: 1.35 EUR;

In gallon ans USD this is: 7.22 USD/Gallon!

  • So right. There will always be a few big car die-hards, but I believe smaller fuel efficient cars like this, is what the future holds form most everybody. Let's see how many drive their big cars in a few years when oil hits over $200 barrel, and higher. Gas at $5-$10 gallon will force changes in a lot of people.

  • as an american i would like to appoligies for the ignernse of our ppl. (egn83b) we are not all that way and u made an awsome arument XD

  • @efg36 I would love one. I am from DK.., also with insane fuel prices. Though I wouldn't use it for daily driving. That would be way too expensive. :)

  • @JohnVoidDoe

Thats true. An american car is possible to finance in europe. But only if you dont drive it :-)

But realy two cars, and one to drive. It would be mor fun to buy an normal european car with an strong engine.

  • @efg36 It is because I love the sound of those thirsty engines. And the cool violent look of those american cars. :)

  • @efg36 usa rocks goon

  • @efg36 That's bullshit . Europe is littered with american cars. look out your window. I bet you see at least two. also Corvettes have 300 to 405HP and get 31MPg. Though not ground breaking today it was an impressive figure for the past 19 years! nothing European was even close up until a year ago.

  • @bronxboyXXX

The only (OK 90%) who drives american cars here are american soldiers. And thats because they get cheap gas in their barraks.

  • @efg36 I'm in Europe now & have never been in the military yet I choose to drive American not because I get gas cheep. it's because cars like Alfa romeos although inexpensive are not very reliable. Same goes for Jaguar & BMW while Mercedes are more reliable, most are rather thirsty or just too fucking expensive. This is where American cars fill a nich because over here they're well equipped (often with AC & Leather) & not all of them use V8s!

  • @efg36 & for the record, GM's Opel, Chevrolet & fords are doing very good in Europe. You can't give away an old BMW V10 because nobody can afford the gas or insurance on them. Europeans talk mad shit but when you get down to it look into 90% of the BMW's on the road. They don't have leather, AC & half of them don't even have power windows! They just buy BMW's for the image. I'm so sick to my stomach of all the BMW 318i, driving Fake Louis Vuitton handbag toting wannabees over here.

  • @bronxboyXXX

The Ford witch are here are from Ford-Europe. They are drveloped and build here and from a very different concept like the american fords. And sadly they are not so priced like the us ones.

Opel is the same. Only that they are very stuggeling.

I dont know what us customers buy. But here every bmw have electric windows and the many have leather. Thats on the customer what he order, and speaks against the taste of american custumors and not against bmw.

  • @bronxboyXXX

And the Cheverolets here are from Daweoo, thats South Korea. Thats in Asia. And the cars are very small. But not cool like the smart.

  • America is the land of big cars period. Europeans please keep your cars because america made cars will kill your paper weights here in the us. America is a super power for a reason.

  • America has become the land of the pint-sized mental midgets like yourself in big cars. 4000 lbs or 40,000 lbs and you're still a wuss. LOL

Can't stay in your car/truck forever!

  • Smart is a brick and bricks in the nature of wind physics are not effienct there resistive to moment. The only reason they achive 35 or 45 miles per gallon is because there tiny and light and have a tiny then normal car engine is why the achive what they do. Take a passenger car with normal build and put a smart engine in it and the mpg will drop off like no tomarrow like 10 mpg rang with NO power. Super cars are very arrowdynamic and has no drag coeffient but have super engines that get 8mpg.

  • arrowdynamic? LOLOLOLOLOL

    You're a fucking moron....

  • Sorry did I step on your european ego.

  • You're just making what I've been saying more true. I'm an American you dumbass.

Most people can use Scope for a breath freshener. From where you speak, I'd recommend Beano. LOL

  • Smart ForTwo CDI (Diesel) 60-75 mpg

    Smart ForTwo gasoline 40-50mpg

  • My midsize Kia Optima with it's 161hp 2.4L 4cyl. gets 35mpg hwy. Considering the smart is is literally half the car and only manages 5 or so mpg more, I'm not impressed. I've seen several in my area and get excited when I see them simply because they are so different. I'm very excited when they finally come out with the electric variant next year. If they aren't outrageously expensive, my Mom is considering getting one since she only lives 5 miles from work and town.

  • why are there no crash tests for Ferrari's, Porche's, Lamborghini's or Pagani's???

  • I think I read somewhere, you buy the car, but you lease the battery. I'll never do that.

  • Of course... DO YOU THINK THE US AUTO INDUSTRY(after fucking us over for so long and raping our planet with greed) IS GOING TO JUST BEND OVER AND TAKE IT IN THE ASS BY LOSING BILLIONS OF DOLLARS ON A CAR THAT DOESNT COST ANY MONEY AFTER YOU BUY IT???

USA = land of the free?? NO, land of the greed more like it.

  • Comment removed

  • bc with the law of friction it will die anyway...I asked the same thing why not just put a high output alternator on it.....we built on in lab and drove it around and it died about an hour after not having an alternator pumping amps back into it :)

  • German.

  • Tesla Model S is the answer ! EV RULES !

  • i think we're all forgeting something important here concerning crash tests and safty issues..its called "being a good driver." seriously, some of you sound like you go out on the road and purpously ram smart cars for pleasure. i think we ALL know that bigger car vs. smaller car = smaller car getting crushed. so, how about we enjoy the advantages of not having to buy so much gas AND not worrying about crashing cars? if a smart car gets in an accident, it should be because it fell of a cliff.

  • do they hav a second 1?

  • i whant one it looks fun!

i hope my 2 subwofers can fit in it

  • i want that smart car

  • Yeah SMART als Elektro Auto, wie cooollll!! ^^ ^^ I´ll buy one now!! ^^°^^

  • hm, i do like the idea of the car becoming electric but 62 miles dosen't sound very impressive..considering that the electric cars in the 90's could get 100 miles per charge. The charge time is okay..but now companies like ZAP are coming out with electric cars that can travel 350 miles to charge, and recharge in 10 minutes. There's also Phoniex who has 100 mile range electric cars that can also be recharge in 10 minutes. So it's not that impressive, but a good step.

  • Are you sure it was a Smart? there is an Asian copy out there that is less than admirable.

  • smart cars are very safe. why does everyone say "OMG I DONT WANNA GET IN AN ACCIDENT WITH THAT!!!" you need to see the smart car crash test video. it gets higher markings than normal cars!

  • Bullshit it does. Ive seen how it bounces all around prone to some really nasty whiplash. Ill stick with the honda. At least it absorbs impact.

  • Yes you're right!!!

  • If someone says something enough times, I guess people will begin to believe it, despite the fact the physics will tell you otherwise.

Tiny car vs. heavy SUV. You do the math.

  • Fuel economy tells me otherwise. Wait till gas goes up again...

  • Smart VS Chevy Tahoe xD

  • = dead tahoe driver.

  • Put luck into the equation and anything can happen. Statistics get destroyed by plain dumb luck.

  • Not as often as one would like.

  • what the fuck you talking about .... in thailand? thats an german car dude!

  • These are very safe cars. Do your research before making comments.

  • it depends on your speed ... Be careful so you wont crash ..

  • how is it being electric make it any more un-safe then a car full of flammable GAS?

  • that car is very save

and its much saver than other cars because its german;)

  • ey first of all maybe your mother is an idiot. ok.

and i think the car is save because a good friend of me crashed with his new smart in to a wall with almost 50km/h

    and nothing happend to him.

    he was drunken^^

  • Dude you are not good at making friends. And just because your friend is drunk and hits a wall doesnt mean a car is safe. Think about it, if a 2 ton SUV hits your car at 30mph you are getting hit with 60 tons of force, which would most likely destroy your car.

    Dumbass

  • yes maybe.... but then you are forced to drive an suv or not? because when you drive a normal sedan or something else and your "2 ton SUV hits your car at 30mph you are getting hit with 60 tons of force, which would most likely destroy your car"

dumbass and than show me a fuel efficient suv.

    you dumb american.

  • So a 2 ton sedan hits your car. Your dead anyway

  • Hundesohn deine mutter soll in der hölle schmoren mit dir du hässlicher spast

    suckderegit!

  • ok wait... iam not american or from england i don´t need to spell correct.

in the foreground is that you understand me.

and i dont have a gay lover you are the only gaylord here maybe i can park my smart in your huge asshole.

    get friends and hobbys sucker!

  • dang their just to expensive

  • hell no 62 miles? thats a trip to the city and back not to mention erands

  • I wouldn't feel safe in a car in which your knees are the crumplezones lulz

  • yeah i know ..and they test crash them and say it really safe car

  • Well you're an idiot than. Who cares how safe something 'feels', what's important is how safe something is.

You probably don't believe in evolution because you don't 'feel' like a monkey.

  • it wouldnt take much to crush that little thing lol.

  • cute little toys lol.

  • 62 miles range sounds usable as a commuter type ride to me. They had no mention of cost though.
