  • Fack! How about just replacing the rivet! Dah! Seriously...30 seconds per rivet...and if its blind (can't get to the backside) maybe a minute. Geeezz. Maybe we can light some fuel off in the belly!

  • That's brazing, welding requires electricity.

  • fail...fail...

  • I like this good ol boy. bet he has a lot to teach a fella.

  • heating aluminum causes it to expand, then when it cools down it gets tight again, often causing weak points , which in the long run will ruin your fishing day.

  • @certifiedpronw If you are not just plain stupid, you will cool your aluminum slowly and it will not crack .

  • Yea but, why not just tighten the rivet a little bit? And it that fails, just replace it. Those are very soft rivets and easy to work with.

  • this isn't welding, it's brazing.

  • you guys are missung the point....yes tig would be fast and clean but how often do you drag your tig machine out in the boonies to go fishing........probably never.........this is a good solid repair in the field

  • Those rods actually work good. Great for small jobs.

  • OMG, after I bet , more then 15 min he might finnish 1 rivet, , I think it might take a few weeks to finnish my boat at that rate.

  • @richmansteve you got a good point, Tig welding takes 5 secs

  • @sickdeathshappen Take your tig out 50 miles from electricity under an oak tree with the cold wind blowing and show me how good and fast you are. I never have been able to get my electric welders to work without electricity.

  • @1930charles hah good point. i was just agreeing with that other dude

  • @sickdeathshappen it wouldnt you are suppost to leave the torch over the weld for a few secs

  • @sickdeathshappen it wouldnt you are suppost to leave the torch over the weld for a few secs.

but how long he takes is stupid.

  • @jimmyg34567 This rod is not for someone as smart as you are. This rod and technique is for someone that does not have an expensive welder, and cannot afford to take their boat to a real welder and pay $300 for a 5 minute job.

  • @sickdeathshappen You must be really, really smart if you can take a TIG out in the wilderness, with a breeze blowing and weld with it.

  • @sickdeathshappen It takes much longer than that when you are out in the wilderness with the wind blowing and you have no electricity.

  • @richmansteve By your user name, I assume you are rich enough to have a tig welder. Everyone cannot have a tig.

Everyone can afford a propane torch. BTW, I have seen some tig welders burn a big hole in a boat. Hope you weld better than you spell.

  • @richmansteve I refuse to get into a battle of the wits with an unarmed man
