@DrBjamin Well it's not exactly the kind of song to show off one's vocal skills, now is it? But I do see what you mean... I wouldn't say his vocals are "shitty", but in the mix they are definitely aided by the background music and also whatever equalizers or filters the mixer adds to the vocals to give them life.

It's certainly not a lie. People hear it as "coons" because they've never read the official lyric sheet and there is obviously room for misinterpretation when simply listening to the song. Being able to hear the clean vocals should make it clear what's really being sung - ditto with the "Jeux sans frontieres", which many people believe is "she's so popular". And "myth" is exactly the right word to use because myths are stories widely accepted as truth that have no real factual basis.
