  • Love Jenkins. Thank you, ColorfulSky. Beautiful images too!

  • It's a great song that just makes me feel good. It also makes me walk faster and keeps me going when doing my daily 2-mile trek on-foot to and from work. Just another fine piece from Karl Jenkins!

  • sup with the whole 'africa' thing with adiemus? these chicks are white!

  • @KevUrbie So... whites came from blacks, whites have black ancestors.

  • @KevUrbie If they can sing it, then who really cares? I'm an American, does that mean I shouldn't sing in operas that are written in German or Italian? Does that mean a black performer can't be in a Shakespeare play? I don't really see why race had to be dragged into this, just enjoy the song for what it's worth. It sounds pretty, that should be enough.

  • @LadyCobweb your actually totally missing my point and turning what I said into something semi racist. and no, you probably couldnt sing an italian or german opera. >.>

  • MAJOR childhood favorite!

  • @Karimoon1 It is not an INSULT for someone's ART to be inspired by SOMEONE ELSE. ALL ART IS INSPIRED BY SOMEONE &/OR SOMETHING ELSE. You, however, are insulting to the human race.

Go ahead, vote me down, mark this as spam, I don't care, she's got this comin'! She claims she was offended & has a right to express this opinion, I have an equal right to be offended by her & express my own. I'm not above sinking to someone else's level today.

  • @dodopod Not ALL of Karl Jenkins' Adiemus songs sound like they are based on African tribal. Some DO sound Celtic. There are other styles as well.

  • @BeyonderL The lead vocalist is Miriam Stockley from South Africa.

  • Wait, I'm lost...

    @JEDEJOMANJE

    @TheGacktfanatic

    @kyouyanagi

    @werewolfsfury

    What's a "bieber"?

  • omg three-headed giraffe at 1:01

  • Beatiful song for ever!!!!

  • amazing Africa....miss you...

  • Who is justin Beiber?

  • @GnonplussedGnome totally agree! why some idiots have to mention him in such a great song like this¿?!!

  • @GnonplussedGnome Are you advertising him or what?

  • @GnonplussedGnome in what fucked up world am I living, where I have to see his name at every single video

  • @GnonplussedGnome

some person i dont know stupid question :)))

  • what got me is the revelation that the chicks singing this are white

  • @KevUrbie

    know im a better personhaha

  • @supercop46 A better person than who, what?

  • This is beautiful .......

  • FREE AFRICA, FROM WHITE IMPERIALISM!!!!!!!!!!!! InshAllah

  • @PERSIANCAT88

Interesting you should say that, then wind up with InshAllah which is also very foreign to Africa.

  • @sheecoke nothing foreign about hoping in God, you say it in English, i say it in Arabic, same difference, Muslims never claimed imperialism, push people of their land, and killed the natives. so what you chatting about! FREE AFRICA, THE LAND BELONGS TO THE NATIVES, FREE AMERICA, THE LAND BELONGS TO THE NATIVES, FREE AUSTRALIA THE LAND BELONGS TO THE NATIVES, AND FREE ALL THE OTHER COUNTRIES THAT WHITE TRASH HAVE STOLEN!!!!!!!!!!! AND GIVE IT BACK TO THE NATIVES!

  • @n0va428

But here's the catch; the Muslims sought to convert not exterminate the native populace of the new realms they took. The Spanish after over six centuries of Islamic occupation sought converts in the New world rather than killing the natives. The English unfortunately just took the natives lands without understanding their ways or culture. The Americans simply exterminated and subjugated through brute force.

  • @TJPinoy Actually the British. Get it right. Most of the colonists were either Irish or Scottish. GET IT RIGHT!

  • @alysadeghi

Oh shuttup, your bloody queen is German for Christ sakes. Plus, Britain was and is dominated by England; it has the larger economy and military strength than what Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland put together!

  • @TJPinoy But is Britain not the old school high class Englishmen? If yes.. would that not make them greater? bare in mind, i am only asking, without any negative tone:-)

  • @n0va428 you sound very well read. That is nice to know. In the best of ways. I hope you lead and will have a great life!

  • @PERSIANCAT88

The Islamic hordes destroyed and killed enough civilizations and peoples on their own, in the name of their blood god. I don't think Islam has any moral high ground over the "white trash" you so disrespectfully speak about. Plus, I thought Muslims didn't believe in countries. Don't you say that everyone should be equally subjugated under the Arabic caliphate?

  • @PERSIANCAT88 O.M.G., you idiot! Go find an appropriate page to place blame & make racist comments. This is an Adiemus music video! Not a discussion page on religion & politics!

  • This should be soundtrack for the new Avatar movie!!!!

  • Hello, anybody knows which photographer work is the very first photo?

  • That was a thoroughly beautiful song! There aren't appropriate words to describe it.

  • Words can't express the wonderful job you did! And to think that some dam*ed politician put a rider in a bill to take the Grey Wolf off the Endangered Species List!

  • People from Africa are amoung the Nicest people i have ever met.

  • @WedidLandONtheMOON

That is because they have not yet been rotten by the evils of modern civilization and city society and thus still have the right to live in Eden :D

I'd rather live in an african tribe than a modern city

  • @Raiigen. I Would like to be in a african tribe than a modern city too.

  • @Raiigen so why dont you go live there? You just talk how you would go, but in reality you dont want to hunt for food or live in a wooden hut. If you really want to go, you can go at any time...

  • @Terminator4004 One: You can't toss black into a bucket of white paint and expect it to continue white. A modern person living with them would destroy what they have.

Two: I wouldn't mind the wooden hut, but the killing an animal is a different thing. I can't kill, not even a fly.

Three: I always have an alternative: A farm. It's productive, you don't need to hunt, don't need a store and live almost the same way

Trust me, I would give almost anything to get away from modern life.

  • @Raiigen

Sorry but what you have is a romanticized idea by western media. There are very few native Africans who still practice what our ancestors did. But you are still welcome.

  • This is a very beautiful montage of photos, enjoyed the music....really nicely done.

  • This is great !!! Wow Thanx

  • Comment removed

  • i hope this will work :p

  • fuck Adiemus its a New Age project, check it out

  • This song makes me nostalgia so hard

  • I love this-thank you....

  • Really Good!!! thx

  • Hey is there anyone who knows what the song is about and can translate it?

  • @Ms2cold these aren't actual words. The Adiemus project by Karl Jenkins was to create an album using Vocalise-style singing, opposed to actual lyrics. Vocalise is basically when you sing different symbols that sound like a language. if you type this in to google you can find out more about it. :)

  • @Unlessitrains thx 4 the help with that. :) it worked. just wanted to thank u 4 dat. :)

  • @Ms2cold These are just made up vowels. Don't mean anything. Karl Jenskins made them specially for singing because they never end in consonants so they don't distract from the pitch of the voice.

  • THIS IS SHIT!!! THERE IS NO DANCE!!!

  • @HaveNoFearGrabABear2

Having nothing to say, you'd better be quiet. The song is exhilarating, it's mesmerizing. Transalting onto your langauage - it's awsome as fuck.

  • @HaveNoFearGrabABear2

Who said there's supposed to be a dance? Just 'cause it's dance music doesn't mean someone can't make a video of stills SET TO dance music.

  • @AlterDimensions Well, when the title says "Rain Dance" i expect dance or else it could just be named "Rain Dance MUSIC"

  • Makes me want to join an orchestra. percussion section would be nice me thinks.

  • Great

  • :) PEACE!

  • goose bumps (in a good way) SOOOO AMAZING i love this typ of music its yust so......WOW :D thumbs up

  • what's not to like about this song, its makes me feel alive again :)

  • thank you so much!

  • its a great song as such, but it does depict a very romanticised version of the westerner's concept of 'african music'. it's a pity that it's not derived from an original tune or even sung in any specific language. still love listening to it though :)

  • @sheepeh120 What do you mean by that? I don't quite follow.

  • @sheepeh120

    What makes that a pity?

Adiemus ( /ædiˈeɪməs/) is the title of a series of Vocalise-style albums by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins. It is also the title of the opening track on the first album in the series, Songs of Sanctuary.

Adiemus was performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra with additional performers and a project choral group conducted by Jenkins. The lead vocalist is Miriam Stockley from South Africa. The music is generally categorised as New Age.

  • @sheepeh120

    Look it up on Wikipedia.

That doesn't mean it doesn't "sound" SIMILAR to other modern takes on African or "tribal" music & WTH is wrong with someone making a video of stills taken in Africa set to this song?

It's not a pity! The song is a work of art & the video is beautiful & fun to watch. No reason to pity anything or insult anything. The song, however, IS original. Why should it be derived from someone else's "original tune"? That doesn't make sense.

  • Beautiful images!! This song makes me smile :D

  • This is a pretty neat song.

  • One of my favorite Adiemus songs, always makes me smile :)

  • wtf?

  • ...why is the video a string of African tribal images? This has nothing to do with Africa.

  • @Wenjaman

It has everything to do with Africa.Karl Jenkins collaborates with Miriam Stockley, a South African-bron Briton who infuses her African roots into works.

  • @Wenjaman, because Karl Jenkins through his music captures the African spirit. If you listen to the arrangement of the songs, the chorus, the women singers, and most of all the spirit you will notice this song resembles many African songs depending on which region you go to. Being African, I see so many qualities of the song which are distinctly African. If I didn't know this was a piece composed by Karl Jenkins, and if I had no idea who he was I would have thought this was an African song.

  • life is beautiful.

  • The girl holding the baby at 2:35...just beautiful. Her piercing eyes, the smile on her lips...just beautiful! What a gorgeous picture.

  • Really? 23 dislikes? To this song of all the things? Those 23 people need a hobby and a hug.....

  • @JEDEJOMANJE just because bieber's style is very far from this beautiful piece, doesnt make u free to insult him in order to show your appreciation of this song. i dont like bieber's songs either but let's not make such unnecessary comparison.

  • @JEDEJOMANJE I don't care about bieber and what does he have to do with this song!

  • @JEDEJOMANJE really? thats not even funny if you don't like beiber then why are you writing about him and reminding others of him

  • I am currently reading comments and crying...
