@KevUrbie If they can sing it, then who really cares? I'm an American, does that mean I shouldn't sing in operas that are written in German or Italian? Does that mean a black performer can't be in a Shakespeare play? I don't really see why race had to be dragged into this, just enjoy the song for what it's worth. @LadyCobweb your actually totally missing my point and turning what I said into something semi racist. and no, you probably couldnt sing an italian or german opera. >.>

@PERSIANCAT88 while i agree on the language bit, the part about muslims is dead wrong. I dont know when the last time you took a basic history course was, but you'll find that the Muslims have been very aggressive with their expansion, creating a Dar Al-Islam that dominated much of Africa. @PERSIANCAT88 O.M.G., you idiot! Go find an appropriate page to place blame & make racist comments. This is an Adiemus music video! Not a discussion page on religion & politics!
Words can't express the wonderful job you did! And to think that some dam*ed politician put a rider in a bill to take the Grey Wolf off the Endangered Species List!
@Raiigen so why dont you go live there? You just talk how you would go, but in reality you dont want to hunt for food or live in a wooden hut. If you really want to go, you can go at any time...
@Terminator4004 One: You can't toss black into a bucket of white paint and expect it to continue white. A modern person living with them would destroy what they have.
Two: I wouldn't mind the wooden hut, but the killing an animal is a different thing. I can't kill, not even a fly.
Three: I always have an alternative: A farm. It's productive, you don't need to hunt, don't need a store and live almost the same way
Trust me, I would give almost anything to get away from modern life.
Sorry but what you have is a romanticized idea by western media. There are very few native Africans who still practice what our ancestors did. But you are still welcome.
@Ms2cold these aren't actual words. The Adiemus project by Karl Jenkins was to create an album using Vocalise-style singing, opposed to actual lyrics. Vocalise is basically when you sing different symbols that sound like a language. if you type this in to google you can find out more about it. :)
@Ms2cold These are just made up vowels. Don't mean anything. Karl Jenskins made them specially for singing because they never end in consonants so they don't distract from the pitch of the voice.
its a great song as such, but it does depict a very romanticised version of the westerner's concept of 'african music'. it's a pity that it's not derived from an original tune or even sung in any specific language. still love listening to it though :)
Adiemus ( /ædiˈeɪməs/) is the title of a series of Vocalise-style albums by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins. It is also the title of the opening track on the first album in the series, Songs of Sanctuary.
Adiemus was performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra with additional performers and a project choral group conducted by Jenkins. The lead vocalist is Miriam Stockley from South Africa. The music is generally categorised as New Age.
That doesn't mean it doesn't "sound" SIMILAR to other modern takes on African or "tribal" music & WTH is wrong with someone making a video of stills taken in Africa set to this song?
It's not a pity! The song is a work of art & the video is beautiful & fun to watch. No reason to pity anything or insult anything. The song, however, IS original. Why should it be derived from someone else's "original tune"? That doesn't make sense.

@Wenjaman, because Karl Jenkins through his music captures the African spirit. @teame8 Hi, I´ve just read your comment. Kid, your dream can come tru. One word "Agel" - it will help you!! And in a year you will become the beautiful and happy child. Go to google and type this word.
@JEDEJOMANJE just because bieber's style is very far from this beautiful piece, doesnt make u free to insult him in order to show your appreciation of this song. i dont like bieber's songs either but let's not make such unnecessary comparison.
I was looking for a video on rain to soothe myself (which helps when I'm stressed about something), and I happened to come across this... All I gotta say is when I closed my eyes I started to smile.
wow all this people saying oh i love life and im so proud because im sitting out side writing on youtube.... no 1 cares about that kind of shit. and waht makes it even more sadder is that u are on youtube shareing it....
@Johny6700 Happyness was made to be shared, we only have one life, and we only have today to be happy in, tomorrow is unknown, and the past has allready been there, choose the moment and choose life.
This track is so fool of something mystic.. and all the comments are so full of life... it makes me proud that I'm a human.. because I know that there are still real humans out there.

@JEDEJOMANJE just because bieber's style is very far from this beautiful piece, doesnt make u free to insult him in order to show your appreciation of this song. i dont like bieber's songs either but let's not make such unnecessary comparison.

@JEDEJOMANJE I don't care about bieber and what does he have to do with this song!

I was looking for a video on rain to soothe myself (which helps when I'm stressed about something), and I happened to come across this... All I gotta say is when I closed my eyes I started to smile.

I am currently reading comments and crying...
This track is so fool of something mystic.. and all the comments are so full of life... it makes me proud that I'm a human.. because I know that there are still real humans out there.
Love you all xD
